My husband and I used Door 2 Door to move our 2 bedroom apartment. Our move was scheduled for 12 p.m. on a Saturday. At 11:55 a.m. that day, I received a call that their earlier job was going over time and they would not get to us until 2 - 2:30. They offered to send a fourth mover at no charge so that it would go faster. I understand that sometimes things just don't go according to schedule and I appreciated them offering to send an extra mover. After 2:30, we were strung along in 20 - 30 minute increments, constantly being promised that the movers were on their way and would be there soon. Whoever we spoke to would promise to call us back with an update or more information and never would; I was the one consistently reaching out to figure out what was going on. In the course of these phone calls, we were then promised a fifth mover at no charge as well as a discount of our total cost. Movers did not arrive until 4:30, and only three of the five men showed up. We were told, throughout the duration of the move, that the two additional men were on their way, but they never showed up. The movers were ok, they protected our large pieces of furniture and we did not have any major damage to any of our furniture or other items. Boxes were labeled and color-coded according to room; some ended up in the right room and some did not. In the end, we did receive a discount and later an additional refund, but this took substantial negotiating and we felt that we were being given the run-around as we had to talk to multiple people about it (different people in the office and the lead mover). Everyone we spoke with was kind, however, they seem to make a lot of promises that just do not actually get fulfilled. Overall, we had a stressful and unprofessional experience. read more

I am missing the base to my coat tree, freezer door missing a part and the door doesn't open correctly. my recliner chair remote is missing parts it's a chair that lifts you out . I had to move a few furniture items to the suburbs from my apartment in the city. A lot of movers told me they would only move items within the city, but their team said that it wouldn't be a problem. The moving team was incredibly responsive, the price was more than fair especially considering the 2 hours of travel required, and they were prompt and careful when wrapping and moving everything. I ended up needing to change my move from a Wednesday to a Monday, and they were able to accomodate my last minute request. Overall, professional team that efficiently moved my furniture for me. These guys scheduled me short notice after another moving company fell through. They arrived on time, and were fast, thorough, friendly, and competent. They asked for a detailed summary of items, and didn't blink an eye when I told them I was going from the first floor to the third. They quoted me a price and stuck to that price. My fiancee coordinated the move, and said that everyone was respectful of my fancy items, and offered to wrap and tape items that looked particularly fragile. I wish I had taken them up on one item, as a marble table top is chipped. The day came, and I had forgotten to take out money, and they were SUPER PATIENT while I fixed everything so I could pay them. If you need help moving, these are your guys. read more

Let me help you now, avoid this company and save yourself a disastrous move!!!! My original rating would have been a 5 because I'm a repeat customer, but 1 is to high a rating in my opinion! Let me explain why: First, I have used this company 3 times and the one constant thing is they always arrive late. My last move proved to be a disaster! When I moved to storage the team did a good job so I asked for the same crew of 5 to come back when my house was ready. The first disaster, they sent 3 new guys. I told the office I had 3 storage units and the old crew saw all 3 before they left but they sent this group with the smallest truck in the fleet. Late, only 3 men and small truck. That's just the beginning. They were hard at work and realized they would have to make 2 trips, which now meant a longer day and additional cost for me. They put boxes labeled kitchen in the basement, they could not find the screws to reassemble my bed so I didn't get to sleep in my new house the first night and of course chipped walls and ceilings. I could have let some kids do the same job. Anyway I'm a fair person and I felt so bad that the men had to work extra hard I tipped each guy 20% individually and that's a lot considering the move was over $1700. They left without giving me an invoice and I called the office and emailed my feedback and they just ignore my calls. Totally unprofessional. I know I had a lot to move however, I should not have to pay for miss management of time, sending small truck, short staff, double mileage and the repairs I now have to do around the house! read more

They broke our television. We purchased insurance and we're given the run around for replacement value and eventually they refused to communicate with us. They still moved our stuff safely but they are shady when it comes to damaging your possessions. read more

I used this moving service two weeks ago. I had three men for the $125 per hour. That seemed like it was a great deal because my estimate was under $500 and that was my budget. It took them three hours longer than anticipated and I ended up with a lot of scratched furniture or broken items. Example: I had a large shoe rack with wooden shelves and they broke one of the shelves. Instead of telling me they tried to super glue it and hide it from me. Another example I had a glass piggy bank with change in it. One movers dropped the entire thing and swept up all the change and broke glass and put it back in a box!!! Very dangerous with all the glass shards. They also broke two of my lights and a pot for plants and did not notify me about any of the broken items. The move ended up costing me $750 before I tipped. I could've moved across the country for this price! I regret it because I definitely did not get my monies worth BUT learned my lesson. I provided you with all the correct information and was never given an estimate paper to sign. I was asked to confirm the address to the first location and that was the only paper work I was showed. Never once was I asked to sign anything. Either way- if you look at the estimate papers I was given AFTER the move, you will see that is under $500 as well. read more

Benny and his crew are excellent. After my initial aggravation that they were 35 minutes late leaving me and the owner waiting around for 90 minutes, (in addition to omitting the fact that my 4:00 pick up time was actually a window between 4-5. Not Benny's fault) these guys really kicked it into gear! They are thorough and professional and respectful. They packed up a 7' x 7' oak bar including the marble top, as if it were worth millions. They were quick, efficient and very careful. Benny wasn't satisfied with the placement in my house until it was perfectly aligned. I would advise however, to ask in advance what the charges for packing materials will be. I was not aware there would be a charge for tape, but we were able to come to an amicable resolution. read more

He said he would get back to me but never did. I would not recommend them ever, go with Wolley Movers, they are actually legit. I am going to try and find a way to be reimbursed for these items. I would think there's some kind of insurance but who knows with a company that only accepts zelle or venmo. read more

The worst moving experience I've ever had. 4 hours late when I made a reservation weeks in advance. They quoted a 4 man crew and I only got 2. I spent most of the afternoon calling their office trying to get an idea of when they were actually going to show up only to be told to "be patient" and they promised a "huge discount "(I have a toddler and I paid you to arrive at a specific time) when they finally arrived they told me it would be longer than the quoted time and they certainly were, maybe because they were drinking in their truck (open modelo in the cab). They said they would be there at 2pm, showed up at 6pm and finished just before 11pm( when they finally moved my daughters bed for me to put her to bed). And the huge discount was $100 (which was $150 over the quoted price after the discount). The only good thing I can say was that nothing was broken. Keep in mind I was between houses and almost all of my things had been boxed up for months. It was just some furniture and boxes, THATS IT. If you have kids and are looking for a company that values your time and understands that you hire movers to make things EASIER I would look elsewhere. Do NOT TRUST their quotes. I contacted Door 2 Door Movers to move my mom from a very small two bedroom apartment to another about five miles away. I sent them a complete list of all the furniture and number of boxes. I was quoted a rate of 160 per hour for a 3 man crew. I allowed for some wardrobe boxes. I was given a quote of $660. First sign of worry was when I kept getting emails that said that they would arrive at 8am. I emailed and called them multiple times to tell them that the elevator was not available till 9 and I could not be there until then. They still showed up at 8 and put that as the start time. They also brought a four man crew, which I did not agree to, and charged me for all four. More about that later. I will say that the crew was great, run by Carlos, and worked very hard. Once they had packed up the first apartment, I drove to the next location and was there in 10 minutes. The crew did not show up until an hour and a half later!! And they had switched someone on the crew which obviously they detoured to get him. Long and short of it after that when it came time to settle up, the total bill was 1250 before tip!!! I moved my mom from Cincinnati to her apartment for 1300!!!! They charged me 180 per hour instead of 160, and charged me for over two hours that they did not work. I also tipped them 220 and was told it wasn't enough because they need to split 60 four ways. I was in the middle of my mom breaking down, on the phone with comcast and just paid it and said I would deal with it later. I called Hiliberto over 2 1/2 months ago and explained it all. He told me he was sorry and would take care of it. Every time I called to remind, I was told that he would fix it and he kept calling me back and asking what my issue was. I explained that I had sent him pictures of the quote, and explained it over and over. I think he was playing games. I called them to check the size of my move and they promised me 3 times that they will come but nobody ever showed up. If such is their attitude before the move, what will be they like on the actual day of the move. They were willing to take the job last minute and were super communicative about time frames and contracts. The movers (Anibal, Greg, and Isai) who showed up were all very professional, very nice, and very quick. Our 10ft truck was unloaded in a little over two hours. Just made the move from Chicago. I had a storage pod that needed loaded. These men were so quick and efficient ! They filled a 16 foot pod too to bottom in an hour and a half! We even had a large sectional that was difficult to maneuver down a second story town home stairs but these guys were champs! Would highly recommend! read more

Everyone here was fantastic-they showed up early, adhered to all the condo rules, even made two stops for me as I had to have a few things dropped off at my family's house. I can't believe how well they wrapped and packed my furniture-it was so large and they managed to work around each doorway and corner without even making one scratch-in a condo building! I hired Door2Door to move items out of my home due to a court order. I explained how important that they be on time as I only had 2 hours to move these things, one date only and then my time would be done due to the court order. I spoke with Hilberto the day of the move. He assured me that they would be there and on time. I also had to pay my attorney to be there during the move. The time was set for 3:00 sharp. At 3:15 I phoned Hilberto and he said "Oh no l will see where they are and call you back". At 3:45 I called again with no answer. At 4:15 my attorney said this is ridiculous and left. I spoke with a neighbor for 15 more minutes, no call, no movers. At 4:40 I left my residence, I only had until 5 so there was no use at this point and no call (I had a piano). At 5:30, Hilberto called me back and said they were late on another move and they could come now. I was extremely upset to say the least. I lost my items from my home, had to pay an attorney and the disrespect shown from Hilberto was unbelievable. He acted as if it were no big deal.
