Decor is absolutely amazing. Service is pretty good. And THAT is where the compliments stop. Food is below average. Drinks are spotty. Depending upon the bartender the same drink you had Wednesday could end up being terrible on Friday. Very disappointed by my last visit but with this place being a high traffic area there is hope that they will get things together. If you're determined to eat here keep your expectations low and hope for the best. read more

I was craving fish and grits on a Saturday afternoon and we popped in here because I saw they sold shrimp and grits. I don't eat any types of shellfish, but the server was nice enough to ask the chef if he could swap the shrimp for salmon and he agreed to do so. It was pretty good! They advertise themselves as the University of South Carolina Gamecock's bar even though they are unable to actually show the Gamecock's game on a tv. When we spoke to the manager, Dallan, he was condescending and unapologetic, going so far as to blame us for not calling beforehand even though they publicly advertise, in partnership with the Gamecock Alumni Association, to watch the game at their establishment. When asked why they can't show the game on a TV, the manager, Dallan, said it's not broadcasted even though I was able to show him the game playing live on my iPhone. Apparently, it's impossible to plug in a laptop or cast a phone onto any of their "smart"TVs. They have no problem with false advertising and employing managers who treat customers as idiots. I do not recommend anyone eat or drink here. read more

Visiting Atlanta and came across this spot walking around. Had a nice table near the big windows; nice breeze was great. We had breakfast, eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy. My companion enjoyed his eggs and we both loved the country potatoes, they were seasoned well, cooked with a little bit of crispiness and the onion and bell peppers gave them a lot of flavor. Biscuits and gravy were yummy, lots of flavor and meat, egg was cooked perfectly. The server was excellent, gave a great local beer recommendation. Someone told me rhis place had an incredible pasta dish. I tried it and it is. Tony Rigitoni. Mushroom and a cream sauce. Yum! When I'm eating on the lighter side I go for the Tavern Salad. Excellent neighborhood pub with above average food. Try it, you'll be hooked. read more

The ice makes a big difference in an old fashioned. It should be on big ice cube that melts slowly not several little ones. Anyways, I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and that was good. Came in for brunch since we had a deal with the Atlanta Dining Passbook. The food was dry, the "Tavern Dip" sandwich didn't even have a dip of any sort to dip the sandwich in. Our appetizer took 40 minutes to come out and the restaurant was only 1/4 full. It is some of the BEST Mac n cheese and brisket I have ever had (it's actually made with their queso cheese) Our waitress was super kind and so was all the staff. I've worked in the service industry for years and understand that service industry members have bad nights almost every night. The attitude by not only the hostess who left the stand for about 20 minutes but also the server who didn't come to our table for 30 minutes after we were sat. We never got any silverware and had to ask. Our drinks didn't come out until much after our food. We made a reservation for 8:30 got sat at 9 and didn't have a server until 9:30. The hostess blew my mind at how bad she was at her job and how much of an attitude she had at the same time. The food was good so the kitchen staff is doing their job but FOH needs so much work and training it's not even funny. read more

One time I hot wings and they were dried out not sure how this happened either over cooked or freezer burned but when I've said something to the staff they corrected it and make my order right. Our friends live in this building and suggested that we get brunch there. From the outside, it's a bit unassuming, but don't let that deter you from going inside. Yet it seems that based on their manager if the owner has guests in this place that are Saints fans the TVs will out loud broadcast that game instead of the Atlanta Falcons... in Atlanta. It all depends on the owners guests versus the local fans that would come here every weekend and spend their money. Definitely NOT a Falcons bar and they definitely do not care about customers. Oh did I mention that the TVs are so loud that everyone at the bar stopped talking because they can't hear each other? ‍ And they all asked the same question: why isn't our game's sound on? I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a bar. The bartender literally would not serve me. I stood for 10 minutes and she would not make eye contact, or acknowledge in any way. I was standing up at the edge of the bar, and it was clear I was trying to buy drinks. So much so that the folks around me started to comment how ridiculous it was. If you are owner, know that she was also serving friends and not charging them. Amazing.
