Fast efficient service with friendly staff. Reasonable prices too. Went early Saturday morning and expected to wait a long time as guys were busy working on other cars. They asked what I needed and told me what documents were required. They used iPad to take pics for validation and looked at car right away. Was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Posting a late review, but I went in for a safety check in July. There was about a 15 minute wait in my car while a couple cars ahead of me were getting serviced. All the workers were really nice, fast, and thorough as they explained to me what passed and what didn't (windows were too tinted). So I've been taking my car here for a couple of years now and let me tell you about my experiences 1st My car was having some problems and after doing some test, the mechanic couldn't tell me for sure but suspected that I had a blown head gasket and that I shouldn't bother trying to fix other things. He charged me 80$ for diagnostics (for a couple hours of service).I eventually did have a blown head gasket and he helped me save some $$$ 2nd My girlfriends check engine light came on. We brought the car over and the main guy said it was a vacuum related to the exhaust system. I wasn't familiar with the problem but he explained it clearly and it was only a few hundred to fix. The car was ready that day. 3rd My Girlfriends car alternator was busted so I called ahead and asked if I could bring in my own alternator (that I got at checkers) and if they could put it in and they did. Charged us 100$ for labor and miscellaneous supplies and everything was all good. Overall I really like this place. Every single time I've gone the same Manager/mechanic is working (the guy who works in the office) and every time he gives me a clear cut explanation of what is wrong. I don't think they over charge for anything or add in any extra fees. Plus if you know what's wrong then go ahead and bring in the parts yourself saving some of the mark up fees that every shop does. They also do oil changes for 22$ which is as good as any place without a coupon. Plus one of the best things about this place is you can leave your car there in the morning(and most of the time get it back that day) and you can go ahead and pickup your car any time(after normal work hours) at the Mccully Union 76 on King st after Mccully. I can understand feeling insecure about smaller/medium sized auto shops but this place is solid. read more

Recommend you come here if you need a safety check just sit in your car and the saftey check is done while you wait even cleaned the very old last one now I have a nice and clean bumper. My car randomly died late after work one night leaving me stranded, and AAA told me it was not my battery, because it was reading okay and it was possibly something electrical that I should get checked out. I was worried it was the starter or alternator that was broken. I needed to be at work the next morning, and McCully Union Repair was one of the only shops that opened decently early. I gave them a call and they answered right away. I asked if they would be able to diagnose the problem and/or replace the starter if that were the case, and he said yes and to bring the car over that morning and they could take a look. I dropped it off and the two mechanics Carlin and Charles were very kind and helpful. I received a call update and after their thorough tests it turned out to be a bad battery that had bad voltage! They were nice enough to test the starter and alternator to make sure they weren't causing problems as well. I got my car back the same day, and it started up with no problems. Most of the other shops were booked for a week or longer, so I am extremely thankful that they were willing to help right away. My car is up and running! read more

After browsing around yelp for the place to go to for my safety inspection check renewal, I decided to go with Mccully Union Service based on the positive reviews. Was not disappointed. Forgot the names of the dudes working but I got good vibes from them. They let me know my front two tires were wearing out and that i'd need to replace them before being approved. They gave me a temporary safety check that's good for 30 days. I came back the same day with the new tires and they got me my safety sticker. Overall it was a painless and fast process. It's been a month since the repair and my car is still running well. On a Monday morning, while trying to drive to work, my car started stutter and act all weird. I pulled over thinking I might have forgotten to add more coolant or something. I topped off the coolant and got back in the car. It was still doing it. So I drove over to McCully Union Service and they were able to take a look and figure out what was wrong. The repair was completed the same day. The service technician was very nice and patience. He took the time to explain what parts is need and what the repair itself will be. The estimate I got was clear and I could easily understand it and I'm not a car person! On the side note, my driver side door handle was broken. I had order the replacement piece and left it in my mid-console for my boyfriend to repair. I didn't mention this at all to them.
