Loved coming here. They were busy on a Saturday morning doing safety checks and repairs with maybe 3 mechanics working. Definitely feels like a mom and pop shop in that they'll say thoughtful or friendly things like saying your name "Thank you, Maria! Your car will be ready at 11." And saying "Mom will help you at the register." I came in for a oil change and brought my own oil and filter and it cost $30. Great deal. Will be coming back. read more

I'm so happy to of found this spot for safety checks. I've been to them multiple times now and every time I've been, everyone is extremely friendly even when it's first thing in the morning and they already have a line of cars waiting for them to open. I love the way they have it set up-it is like a "drive thru" service. You literally sit in your car and wait your turn and they take payment and everything right from your car. I would imagine this being really helpful for elderly, injured, disabled, or just lazy people. They just do what's needed/required, get you in, get you out, and it's literally the fastest place I've ever been able to just show up at and get a safety done. Other places try to sell you on things or tell you things "you need" but don't really "need" and these guys don't play that game-they're just straight, upfront, and get the job done with a smile. Note: if you moved your car to other states and back to Hawaii, they are really familiar with what needs to be done for out of state cars arriving on the island too. I'd recommend to show up right before opening or at opening-you will see cars sitting outside the gate before opening, waiting to get in. Went here for my safety check because it was nearby. Previous reviews said they were friendly here so I thought I'd give it a shot! Buuuut... my experience was unpleasant and LESS than friendly. I was waiting in the drive thru area and I said I was here for a safety check. The older lady looked at my documents and shoved it back to me saying she can't take me and walked away to go to the next car in line. Didn't even bother to help me or offer to do anything. They accept walk in (or drive in) safety check! It was about $26 and the guys checking were very quick but thorough. They're also nice enough to direct traffic since it was so busy, the cars were overflowing to Beretania street. Everyone was confused how to line up for the safety check. DON'T WAIT BY KEMOLE LANE! Just line up through S. Beretania Street We always pass by this place too and they're usually not super busy. After going to Jiffy Lube on King, Punchbowl, AND Kaneohe and being told at all three that they couldn't do a safety check due to the inspector being out for three months or not working on Thursdays, I called around. Many places were not taking until the second week of December. I called Mcully Union because I had heard a couple years ago they were really reliable and good, and I asked if I could get a safety check done that day. The man who answered said yeah, you just need to wait in line. ANYWAYS to get to the point, I got there and was guided inside the lot by a nice lady, because a line was beginning to form on the road. I'm really thankful that they didn't leave us hanging out on the road. And then, I was able to get my safety check in about under 25 minutes! It was so fast and efficient! Very sketchy. Told me that my oil pan needed replacement when they ruined the threads for me. They didn't know that I checked the oil pan myself and because I was checking my brake line. Also told me I needed a new radiator because it had holes. I was told the radiator was fine by another reputable shop. Don't go to this shop if you don't want to get scammed! I went to get a safety check and the woman was very efficient but to the point that she was so efficient she didn't even put the safety sticker in the original place the old sticker was. I had a special metal plate so it wouldn't be on my bumper. I just discovered it, and now it can be confusing for police since the old one is on the special metal plate and the new one on the bumper. Ladies (and gentlemen) - this is the place to take your car for fixed, oil changes, vehicle inspections. I have always loved cars. I have always hated taking my car into auto mechanics, cuz as a woman, it's hard to find a respectful mechanic who doesn't treat you like a price-gauging target. Well, I've found one in Charles and his team! They treat me like a person. They always greet me pleasantly, take the time to answer my questions, and Charles is always straight up about what needs to be fixed and what can or cannot be fixed. They are a pleasure to communicate with. No more missed calls and phone tag, Charles uses texts if you prefer, after checking out your vehicle, he sends over a detailed electronic quote to get your authorization for your work. And work is always completed promptly, before their promised time. Their prices are a bit more expensive than what I can get elsewhere, but well worth it given how much they save me in time and hassle. What might take 2 trips to do at another shop to get done, they do in 1. A vehicle inspection that can take over an hour elsewhere (in some cases multiple visits), they get done in 15 minutes. At one inspection, they found a light bulb that was out, I thought, "Oh, this is gonna cost me..." and they changed it right there and it came out under $5 and I drove off with a passed inspection. They are NOT using the vehicle inspections to make money off of you, they use the vehicle inspections to make a loyal customer out of you. Finally, they stand by their work.
