I have stopped here a couple of times passing through for work, and last week, I stopped in for breakfast and a quick stretch break on the way to Natchitoches. This is a small store just north of Alexandria, so if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of MacAuther, this is a good spot. While the employees were initially not overly friendly, I was greeted by who appeared to be a seasoned employee and one in training. I wasn't really sure if they were ready for me to order or not, but figured it out. I went to make my drink, and the trainee had come to hand me my bag. I wished her a good day, and she sort of relaxed her eyes and said, thank you, you too. So sometimes you just have to be the nice one first! My meal was neatly packed in the bag. The food items were fresh and neatly made, not falling apart, and I had plenty of napkins. I don't tend to expect much from fast food places anymore, so over all this was a good, simple experience. We ran through the drive-thru since we are driving through town back to Dallas. We were greeted with "we only take cash" which thankfully I had on me. As we order, the person on the speaker was adding items and taking them off, this happened numerous times. After several times of repeating our order correcting the mistakes we finally gave up. We got to the window and after getting the receipt, I noticed that on the McDouble meal (same meal I have ordered hundreds of times) there was a listed beverage surcharge and the meal was $.50 more than in Dallas. I also couldn't figure out how we spent $20 on so little food until we started receiving our order and realized my husband ordered a small but was charged for medium drink and fries(another surcharge snuck in). Scammy behavior! We finally get our food and started for Dallas again only to realize as we left that area we were given someone else's burger and mine was made incorrectly. It would appear that since they are the only fast food in the area besides BK, they have been allowed to get away with this behavior. Thank goodness we don't live here! Probably the worst McDonalds I have been to. Walked in and there was nobody at cashier. One gentleman was just waiting for his order. 6 people came in after me. Saw a Manager wearing a tie just looking at us in the kitchen. Another employee in the kitchen was laughing and joking and cursing "Sh@@ !" Not once did the Manager come over and apologize. A younger female employee was in the kitchen delivering food orders to tables. She walked over and apologised and said she would be right back. I placed my order and was given a number for my order and she came back to deliver it. She said something like "Have a Blessed Day". This was yesterday, Tues, Dec 20th at 12;30pm. I only saw two tables with customers eating their food. After I ate I saw other people standing around to be waited on. Your ordering process is broken. I guess the priority is to drive through lane. It would be faster to just cook the food and give the food order immediately to customers. I appreciate being able to sit down and have it delivered to me but she seemed the only one who cared. She was preparing drinks for drive through orders and also delivering food to tables. They need to hire more staff or maybe have the Manager be by the cashier taking order. Eliminate the food delivery person, let her work on drive through orders and let customers carry their own food. There is no need to have employees laughing and cursing in the kitchen with waiting customers a few feet away. NOTE: After I wrote my review I saw the Dec 5 2022 Health Department Scores and those from Aug 2022. I read other customer reviews with similar complaints. I think this store needs to be closed and shut down. If McDonalds is not trying to do better, there are other options nearby to spend my money, Several Restaurants will allow Managers or General Managers to respond to these comments. How can you improve if you do not know what is wrong. For every one person who takes the time to write a Yelp Review there could be 20 or more dissatisfied customers never to return. read more

Thanks to the crew and manager for taking a large order of double burgers and spicy chickens over the phone and having it ready for us quickly in order for us to feed 90 of our troops waiting for their delayed aircraft at AEX in order to return home after completing training at Ft Johnson. This place is crazy... not a car In the drive thru but me and my coworker were standing in the lobby for 15!min calling for someone to serve us. the employees were all in the back having a great conversation about nothing at all. if you have any where to be in a timely fashion, I strongly recommend to go anywhere else. read more

I mean, McDonald's is fine and I had a decent quarter pounder with cheese (despite my little rant below) but here's the problem. First, I ordered it with ketchup and onion only, extra ketchup. It came with almost no ketchup...if you know me, this is bad. Next, the onions were the dehydrated ones and no ketchup in the bag for the fries. Finally, you couldn't eat inside. This is the best McDonald's I've ever been to. I've been to McDonald's all over the world, and Japan held the title of best until today. On our road-trip from Pensacola, FL back to DFW, TX, we did a quick stop at this McDonald's and wow! 3 spicy crispy chicken sandwiches, McNuggets, fries, filet o fish, and coffee, everything was perfectly done! Look it's a Mickey D's...it has got a facelift/renovation and on my swing through the Drive Thru I noticed the interior was fresh and updated and well lit... I'm not really that much of a Mickey's fan anymore but every now & then I still get a craving for a Filet o Fish or a Big Mac....but when I'm eating pavement with my kids Mickey D's is great road food to keep them little beasts satiated so I can complete the journey to the Boss City in semi peace...cause seriously, don't give me that crap about the journey when we all know it's about the destination...especially if you're rolling on 49...cause if your joy in the journey is staring at canefields and pine trees until your brain goes numb then you should seek professional help! Today McDonald's near the Alexandria airport was disappointing. I only eat fast food in desperation, and today reminded me why to never eat fast food. The typical McDonald's consistency was lacking. Quarter pounder with cheese was extremely salty, the staff seemed overwhelmed by a small rush of customers. Unfortunately I'm forced to live near this McDonald's, making it the only one that is available for me to go and purchase food at. Every single time that I order from this McDonalds they get it wrong! every single time! I asked for no egg they add egg. I ask for extra bacon they don't put the extra bacon. their fries are either cold and stale or still frozen. Came in at 10:36 and the lady behind the counter has me wait right off the bat because they were "not taking lunch orders" (never mind the fact that the lunch menu was visible). So after 5 minutes of awkwardly standing there, she goes back and asks the other workers who look at her like she's insane and say yes, of course we're taking lunch orders. So I order... and my 3 friends behind me ordered. All 3 got their food before me. Turns out they literally forgot my order. Maybe it didn't go through or something, who knows. Then once they woke up, I still had to wait a fair bit of extra time for the fries. Not to mention, their self-serve ketchup was out (both of them), and the employee didn't believe me, tried it out, and said "I'm not changing this because it'll get all over me". Then, after an unnecessary wait for some little ketchup packets, finally got to enjoy my food. Workers were generally apathetic and uncaring. The fries were hot but the service was not... this restaurant's problems amount to a lot. In this place I surely won't be caught. For good fast food, hit a different spot! read more
