I don't get why orders are always wrong. 2nd time going here and yet AGAIN the order was wrong. Tried to call the store. They never answer the phone. Left a voicemail. No response. Ordered a Daily Doible, no mayo add Mac sauce. Came with only Mac sauce, lettuce and onions. Wife ordered a double cheeseburger same somehow no cheese on the burger. Another issue is that she ordered freshly cooked fries. By the time she made it to the window the fries were not fresh!!! She had to sit in the drive thru even longer for the fries to be cooked again. I do t understand why this is a constant problem. 2 times for me same 3 times in a row for her. I've tried calling the store previously same again no answer or callback. Maybe this time I'll get a response back. Who knows. After working 9 1/2 hour days you simply want to visit an establishment to get some good food but it's sad that's not the case. read more

This location is typically a hit or miss when it comes to wait times - I know it's a super busy spot and don't fault the employees at all! They are typically friendly and nice, so that's a really positive part of the experience! However, I have waited here for very long amounts of time when the line seems short, so would keep that in mind that if you're in a hurry. McDonald's highway 72 terrible service, They got my food wrong, it was right on receipt, I went in to get it fixed,I went in total of five times even after explaining issue, I waited for an hour just for my food. I even tried it again thinking it was a mistake same thing happened, i waited 30 mins after I went thru drive thru and the receipt was right food wrong. i waited forever and wasted gas. So disappointed! Went on a Tuesday at 3:30pm and got a nugget happy meal with sweet and sour sauce. Now sauce and fries were cold, limp and no salt. Cheese burger ordered with mayo and extra pickles and onion. Came with no mayo, cold patty but did have extra onions and pickles on it. Did they open an older burger and just add it last minute? McDonalds was absolutely rockin' the service today! My steak, egg, and cheese bagel was assembled with all of the correct ingredients. The bagel actually matched the McDonalds marketing photo for the first time and the sandwich tasted delicious! The drive through staff was efficient today, which is not always the case at that McDonalds. The awful sewage smell is finally gone and it seems to be a bit cleaner in the parking lot. If they could manage to have consistency that would be nice! read more

I visited this location at 12:20 on a Tuesday with several cars already in line ahead of me. The employees were all cheerful and service was efficient. The drive thru line moved quickly and I received my order correctly, and food was hot and fresh. I will frequent this location again in the future! read more

Waited in line at the dual lanes for 15 minutes or longer. Then waited in the line another 15. Then had to pull off. All the cars behind us and ahead of us got food at the window. Every time I go here I have to pull off. Even when all I ordered was one value menu combo in the morning. Every time no one else has to wait. Something is going on here. Tonight all we ordered was 6 cheese burgers, a Mac nugget and a fry. It's hard for me to see you could get everybody head of us at the window. Not the first time I have come through the car line or pickup an online order and not have all my order or napkins in the bag. This time I had enough and tried calling inside because I didn't want to get out because of being partially disabled and on a cane. After 5 attempts to get them to answer the phone I went in...pissed...you might say. I get in there and the manager KIM is at the car line window talking. When I got her attention I asked her why no one would answer the phone. Her reply was because my phone is back there and I'm up here obviously recognizing I was angry. I told her I wanted my D... pie that was left out of my bag "again". Not only did she refuse to give me the pie but wanted me to leave "her store" and was wanting to give me a refund. I told her I didn't want a refund that I wanted the pie that I ordered and told her she needed to do her D... job and it was obvious why that store had a 1 star rating. If I owned that one she would no longer have a job. I went to my vehicle and as I was backing out here she come without my pie, but with my refund for the pie. I told her to keep her refund because I wanted the pie that I ordered. I left and the only reason I'll walk back into that store is to see if she still has her job. Happened at 7:55pm on 12/11/24. Never again will I order food from this location ( hwy.72 E Athens Al.) and would suggest if you do check your order before you leave and make them do it right!! read more

This has got to be the worst run McDonald's in the world. Family went there is spring and ordered 60+ dollars of food and drink for a family picnic on a week day afternoon. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon and I thought it would be light traffic in the store. Put in the order online and drove to the restaurant. Waited for almost 30 minutes in the curbside pick up. Finally went inside. My order wasn't ready yet. Fifteen minutes later I started getting pieces of the order. I finally got several bags (no drink carrier for the six drinks I had ordered so I ferried them to the car in batches. Along with multiple bags. We left, almost an hour late for the picnic. When we got there and started eating I had not one of the items I'd ordered. Two other people were missing half their order. We estimated about 27 dollars worth of food missing. I tried to get in touch with McDonald's, both local and corporate. Neither would answer the phone. I put in a corporate complaint on the McDonald's website but never heard a peep. I even stopped by the location on my way back home. Pictures of the food (or lack there of) and a receipt but waited at the counter for over 20 minutes and no one would even acknowledge me so I could not even as for a refund of the missing good. So disgusted. If this had been a loan incident I could have let it go, however, this used to be a regular restaurant for my family (the grandchildren love the happy meals) but has seldom gotten my order correct. My typical order was a triple cheeseburger and a small drink. How many time had I ordered the triple cheeseburger and received only a double cheeseburger? I lost count after 23 times out of 25 (I started keeping track on my phone) only twice in a year or two did I receive the order I placed. Most times I just had to laugh at my own stupidity for thinking they would actually look at the order before filling it. And that added up to several dollars I'd paid but not received a product of at least equal value. So yesterday was the absolute last straw. My grandson wanted nuggets from "Donald's". So I took him, even though I'd given up going there. I got him a chicken nuggets happy meal. We got back in the car (meeting grandpa so we needed to be traveling) and as he opened his happy meal I heard a cry of disappointment. They gave him a hamburger happy meal and forgot the toy to boot. On the way to meet grandpa in Madison we stopped at the McDonald's on County Line and got the correct meal first time. And the toy. Good luck if you stop by this Athens McDonalds. You may or may not get what you ordered and you may or may not get what you paid for...I know I should check my orders before I leave but it seems this chronically incorrect order issue is a new phenomenon. Before five or six years ago I never had gotten an incorrect order. And it happens at lots of fast food places these days. But Athens McDonalds is the worst!!! These service was awful we were in the drive-through and nobody was taking our order there was another person who was waiting for us way before we left and so were the people who were waiting we saw that they were in the back with their phones playing around so we decided to go inside since clearly nobody was gonna come when we went inside there were a bunch of teens playing and eating this kid with an afro I think his name is Ricky was putting his hands on girls he had also locked the door on a customer's face some young ladies had opened the door and apologized to them but I wouldn't recommend going here at all! read more

Seeing one star does not shock me. I came here with my girlfriend to get something to eat before we hit the interstate to head to TN and the place looked like a tornado came through. IT WAS DIRTY. I almost decided not to eat there to be honest. The girl was having a hard time ringing up a simple order and the food took forever. We stopped in for lunch on our road trip back from Alabama to Illinois. There was one person manning the whole front, she was working her butt off (taking orders, taking food out to tables, and it appeared that she was also doing drive-thru) from the spot I was standing waiting on my food I could see 2 managers sitting on stools in the back office laughing and carrying on a conversation, every once in a while they would shout out a command to one of the people cooking in the back but that's all they did. The front counter was covered in half full packages of bags and napkins. The restroom had no toilet paper. When we finally got our food after a 20 minute wait they were out of sweet tea and said they didn't have time to make more, they forgot the toys in the happy meals, and my burger that I ordered extra onions on had no onions at all. read more

Upon arriving at this "24 hour" location at 12:15am last night, we were informed by drive-thru employee that the obviously open restaurant was not actually open. Employee then asked if we were planning to pay with cash or credit and insisted that this location does not accept cards (which we planned to pay with). Employee lied to us about being open and lied about payment options. We assume so they could avoid doing any actual work. As a former McDonald's manager, I am appalled that a shift manager would allow for this kind of behavior. This is reprehensible. Do not attempt to eat at this McDonald's. Don't waste your time. Burger King is just a mile down the road, Hardees is next door to it, Krystal's is right there, Taco Bell is about 2 miles away. DON'T eat at a place that lies to you like this. read more
