We stopped in here Krystal to get a few burgers for the road and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We have white castles which I love we don't have crystals at home. So this is a nice change of pace Good burgers

a hot dog with cheese and mustard

It used to be good place to eat the other people used worked there took pride in there cooking how there burgers looked now there bad .sometime part buns gone or they rolled up like hot dog the burger look bad who ever cook is at night .

This what we ordered from who and when. I already thru the whole order away.

Valerie was very rude from the beginning of ordering thru the very end. Felt like we were bothering her sling her to do her job not the first smile or even hint of one or half friendly tone to her voice. Food was legit ice cold and fries half done. Did not want to even give one stars. I've ate at this restaurant for years decades even sad to have this experience. As we moved and was really looking forward to coming back only to not be able to eat the $30 meal I purchased and treated like crap. The Krystal site for comments is down and the link it gives to email says doesn't exist after pressing it lmbo. TERRIBLE WAS THIS TRIP. NOTHING GOOD COULD BE SAID. Also sad to see it still the same building and decor as almost 30 years ago. With all the growth and new business in the area u would think they would spruce up the place some.

Our first Krystal experience was awesome! The drive thru cashier was the sweetest and triple checked to make our order was correct. We got Krystal cheeseburgers and Nashville hots. We loved them all! My picky boys who don't even like McDonalds kept raving how good the food is. Thank you so much from California.

Here's a picture of the wait time , that wasn't even the whole time we were there ....

If I could give this place a 0 i would . We waited almost 30 minutes for our food the workers look DISGUSTING and the whole building is just horrendous . I have no idea how this Sh** place is still even open . SHUT IT DOWN . There isn't no way the food that is served is sanitary. We ended up just leaving . We will not be back

From where we were at the Tennessee state line, it was about a 50 minute ride on small country roads. We arrived at Mike's Cafe after most of the lunch crowd was gone. We ordered the smoked chicken with fried potatoes, pinto beans and okra, a double cheeseburger deconstructed, small onion rings and a BLT to go. They didn't have turnip greens or collards so I ended up with fried potatoes. Fried cornbread was included. Inside the restaurant the ceiling in the small dining area was similar to galvanized siding. It was shiny new. I didn't ask if the dining area was a new addition. The shiny caught my attention. I believe there were 12 booths for seating. We were the only customers inside sitting while Mike, the owner, was back in the kitchen preparing our foods. We introduced ourselves and told Mike we drove over there because we heard so many great things about his food and that his restaurant was clean. It was clean too! Mike brought our foods out and we headed to the car. As we were about to leave, Mike came out with a sample of his hamburger soup on the house. What a lovely gesture. We thanked him and his wife and headed home to devour our haul. The smoked chicken was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the fried okra, pintos and fried potatoes. The BLT was made with a lot of thick cut bacon. Yummy! The double cheeseburger we shared later was delicious and cooked perfectly. If you like old style good home cooking, please stop by Mike's Cafe. His food is fire!

We ended up coming back a second time with our kids within a couple weeks. I had the brisket Philly cheese steak. The meat was so tender and had a lot of cheese. The sweet potato fries were delicious too. My husband had the chuck which is a double cheeseburger with onion rings. The onion rings are beer battered and crispy. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table when it is ready. Soda and iced tea are self serve at a drink station. The ambiance is very cozy. Prices are about average. We spent about $30 for the 2 of us.

They were absolutely delicious! 5/5 Dave and I went to C&J with a friend who recommended the restaurant. Dave ordered the Philly on a hoagie with sweet potato fries. I tried his sweet potato fries and went nuts asking for more. They were great. His Philly made with smoked brisket was loaded with meat and exceptionally great. 5/5 I couldn't figure out what to get so I got the double bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. The cheeseburger was two large hand patted burgers. I had to remove one in order to eat my burger in public without looking ridiculous trying to shove the big burger in my mouth. The burgers were cooked well, cheese melted well, juicy and very tasty. 5/5 The onion rings were made with real onion slices. They were delicious and I received several more than any other restaurant has ever given me!!! 5/5 This restaurant is attached to a drug store. There is limited seating and most people get takeout. I saw people place their orders and then go to the drug store to shop. If you are in Athens, please check this restaurant and drug store out. The food is 5/5.

Since it is in the main part of downtown, super close parking is a bit of a big ask; we parked at a public government building about two blocks down and walked over. The inside is very small and only has a couple of two-seater tables and one bench setup, but there are multiple nice metal tables outside to sit at if the weather is good. Fortunately, we lucked out in that regard, as it was a nice day. The inside of the restaurant smelled absolutely amazing, so I was excited to order. Their lunch menu mostly consists of sandwiches and burgers, with limited sides like chips, broccoli salad, soup of the day, and so on. Bottled drinks and a couple of desserts round it all out. My parents split a Philly cheese steak sandwich with pasta salad; I got a chicken cheese steak with a cup of the soup of the day (potato), and we shared a slice of strawberry pretzel salad for dessert! The employees were nice enough to bring our food out to us while we were at a metal table on the patio, so that was sweet. Food came out relatively quickly and was definitely fresh. Overall, it was fine! My favorite thing was probably the strawberry pretzel salad; I wish I'd had a little more but I should've ordered my own portion! lol. The potato soup had really nice garlicky croutons on top that I enjoyed, though I wish there'd been bigger chunks of potato in it. I liked my chicken Philly just fine though I feel like it was missing some sort of flavor somewhere. My parents felt the same about their regular Philly. Unlike me, though, my mom unfortunately got several gristley bits she had to spit out. The chicken didn't have that same problem. Overall, a pleasant enough experience though I wouldn't say our socks were knocked off, haha. I'd return and try other menu options if I come back in the future.

Menu consists of classic American fare, like burgers, patty melts, and chicken tenders. Fries, onion rings, and tater tots for your sides! They also offer daily lunch specials; on Tuesday it was spaghetti and garlic bread, but other days have plate lunches like country fried steak. This appears to be a pretty popular deal -- lots of spaghetti coming out of the kitchen! Our waitress proudly explained how they hand patty the burgers and hand bread the tenders, and how the salads are made with freshly pulled lettuce. She also told us she'd worked there a long time. Love a place that retains employees! Says a lot. Our waitress did a good job, too. My parents both ordered a hamburger and split an order of onion rings. I was gonna go in on a burger but couldn't resist when I heard the tenders were hand-breaded. So I had chicken tenders with fries. The burgers were great! Parents said they reminded them of old-fashioned diner burgers. My tenders were also good: crispy breading and all white meat. The onion rings were crunchy and the fries were crinkle cut and of ample portions. My complaints are generally small, but for what they are: wish the tenders, fries, and rings had been a little saltier, and I wish the ranch for dipping was a little thicker and less herby (kinda tasted like salad dressing ranch rather than buttermilk). Still, minor in the grand scheme of things! Thanks for an enjoyable lunch! :)
