I would have been okay with the wait because eight minutes was worth the quality of the sandwich since it was delicious-everything was fresh and tasty. The problem is that on my way into the parking lot to get to the drive-thru, I saw several workers inside the restaurant sitting around chatting with each other. Worse still was the guy working at the dishwasher near the drive-thru window. He was doing so much talking and laughing while I was sitting in my car that I wondered if he was actual employee. I began to wonder why it was taking longer than normal for me to get my food, so I backed my car up to see where my sandwich was and I saw a worker holding the sandwich in one hand while he was talking to his co-workers. The sandwich was done, but his conversation was apparently more important than me-the customer. The gentlemen who helped me were friendly, but it seemed like they and the other employees were apathetic when it came to their job because there was no sense of urgency and there was a lot of chit-chat. I have been a patron of countless Jimmy John's over the years and I am always in and out in four minutes or less. It usually takes one minute to pay and three minutes or less to get my food, so for them to take twice as long was noticeable and strange. Furthermore, a drive-thru should give them the opportunity to do things even faster than if I walked into the restaurant.
