I was in Camarillo at the time and wanted to try the new J Balvin meal (Big Mac, fries, and Mcflurry). I was near this McDonalds so I placed my mobile order for pickup at this location. With the app, when you're ready to pick up your food all you have to do is check in and they will start preparing your order. I choose to pick up my food from the drive thru and checked in from there. When I got to the ordering box, I told the guy I was there for a mobile order, he then told me to come up to the first window. The guy at the first window didn't know what my order was. He left the window to figure out where my order was since he could not find it in the system. He quickly came back and gave me my receipt, then I pulled up to the next window for my food. The girl at this window was about to give me someone else's food. I told her what I had ordered and she told me to pull over to the side because my order wasn't ready. I waited about 5 mins and someone brought out my food. When I got home to eat my food, the burger was in the container upside down and they placed pickles on my burger when I specified I did not want any. Overall I had a terrible experience at this location. They rushed to make my order and they didn't even make it right. When I was a kid I loved the McDonald's cone. Back in those days it was $0.25. I remember it better when it jumped to $0.50. Still worth the money. Then it crept up to $1. Ehhhh, okay, but my lactose intolerant excuse is gaining equity. Now it's around $1.29, so I gave up the ice cream cone for several years until this McDonald's visit. I had defected to Dairy Queen (yay!). Unfortunately just because you pay more doesn't mean you get more. The serving size today is significantly smaller than the cones when they were cheaper. Yes, my hands are bigger, but it's obvious that you pay more but you get less of the good stuff (ice cream). And at this McDonald's it's a lot less. In fact, underfilling ice cream cones and sundaes seems to be a standard theme here - - just check the pics. I got my $1.29 cone that was fit for a......small child. I couldn't believe how small it was - it was so small I thought it was an FNG who made the mistake (training issue), so I inquired and they said "sorry, that's the correct serving size". OMG. No way. I then gave it back to them and said "forget it - - I don't want it. No thank you". They escalate to the manager - who's direct yet nice - she says that it's the correct serving size but they'll gladly make me a new one that's better - but this time only. Okay, she was pretty cool about it, so I took her up on her offer and bought two (Rachael jumped in on the deal). After all the manager could of just told me off or ignored me, but her wanting to please me to resolve the issue elevated this 1-star experience to 2-stars. Unfortunately someone at Corporate did a value analysis and concluded if you reduce the ice cream serving size by 50% you'll double your ice cream revenues. They probably got a bonus for that cost reduction analysis, but I bet they didn't spend a dime of it on McDonald's ice cream. This is also the first McDonald's I've seen that has a time limit on in-house customers. You've got 30 min to eat your food and you're outta here! ! Wow, that's a first. I'm guessing there's a loitering problem here. Kinda reminds me of a saying my sister utilizes: "Be Brief, Be Brilliant, Be Gone!" FYI - it took me 7 minutes to eat that ice cream cone. I went inside this McDonald's hoping that they would assume I only wanted a third of a square of cheese and honestly I am amazed at the telekinetic abilities of the staff as they absolutely nailed my incredibly complex order (1 fillet O'fish) with total accuracy. This is quite possibly the most friendly McDonald's store I've been to in a very long time. The cashier was super nice and took my request very quickly. She gave me a number and told me that I might have to wait a moment for a fresh fries but that was something I was more than willing to wait for. I noticed that the McDonald's toy that comes with a happy meals is no longer a TY brand plush doll but instead a toy associated with the new Disney Pixar movie Luca. I took a chance and asking to see whether or not they had any more of the plush available as my daughter already has one of the toys from the new movie but hasn't seen it yet so it really means nothing to her right now. The cashier was so nice I wanted to the bin of toys available for happy meals and was able to find the very last Hawaii plush that they had in the store. She was more than happy to give that to my daughter instead of the Luca toy and I'm so glad that it worked out. I made a stop in the restroom with my daughter so that we can wash your hands.
