I had a real good experience here a few weeks ago. I was out on a long run/walk in the morning and realized my water bottle had slipped out somewhere. I didn't have my phone or wallet with me, but went into Tree Lounge and asked the young barista if he wouldn't mind giving me a water cup. He was such a friendly guy, helping me like I was a paying customer. He didn't have to be as accommodating! I went back after my run to thank him, and get a cup of coffee. Pretty frustrating experience this morning. My wife put in a door dash order for my favorite coffee last night for my birthday. It was set to be delivered this morning. Order went through no problem. Trouble started this morning when my wife received a message from the driver that Tree Lounge doesn't have the order (first screenshot). My wife looks and sees she received a cancellation text for the order 1 minute after the driver's message (second screenshot). From the outside this looks like the driver walked in, asked for the order, they said they didn't have it and then cancelled it. So, my wife called Tree Lounge to see what is going on and was told that they cancelled the order because they were "in the middle of their rush". It's easy to see how poorly this situation was handled in general, but also clear no one checked online orders to prep the work for the morning. This order shouldn't be a surprise and the choice to just blind cancel it instead of making it because of what equates to "we're busy" is pretty bad. Takes a lot for me to leave a review. If you don't want to process online order during your rush then set those hours up in door dash. If you screwed up and just didn't check your online orders in the morning, then just make the drink as the next up order. Stopped by Tree Lounge Coffee and tried the Island Latte made with macadamia milk--so good! The flavor was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The macadamia milk gave it a creamy texture that made the drink stand out from a typical latte. Great coffee, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Blaring AC, beautiful local cafe, and lots of local artworks displayed on the walls. Perfect on any day to cozy up here and sip some drinks while doing some work or studying. The prices are very reasonable and the hot drinks are also very hot. The cups are so hot to touch so maybe using napkins is best to hold them. I had a hoodie on in here from how cool it was!!! Free wifi that worked very well. Staff were pretty attentive and friendly. We parked at the side of the streets, but there was also a lot and it wasn't too hard to find a spot!!! Finally made it in, and so glad I did. Quaint local coffeeshop. It offers options from coffee to lattes to hot chocolate and chai. There is also a small selection of baked goods. Small but there are a few chairs inside. Local art on the walls. It's perfect if you're looking for a place to relax and catch up with a friend or treat yourself. Tree lounge coffee is where you want to go to relax and enjoy a good coffee in Old Town. They have parking in the front, but it is a bust shopping area and you might have to park on a side street. It is worth the short walk. Inside they have pastries and a large selection of coffee and tea. Every coffee I have ordered here was amazing. There is ample seating inside and has a nice open feeling. I know they have a roof area to sit, but it was raining when I went. I had the Peppermint Mocha and so good, so smooth. It was delicious. Sure cute and artsy cafe. Love the art! I ordered a brown sugar latte which I enjoyed! Not too sweet and a refreshing coffee taste compared to the big chains. Those are the positives and that's where it ends. Let's start with the main product, coffee. It's HORRIBLE! I could be snarky and insulting but I kind of feel bad for them. I've tried a few drinks and there is this crazy after taste that is simply unpleasant. The baked goods are hot and miss at best. Often dry and tasteless. Now, the staff. Over the years they've had some wonderful people, but the good ones don't seem to stay more than a few months. For whatever reason they retain anyone devoid of personality and energy. Product knowledge is virtually nonexistent. Enthusiasm? You'd think that the caffeine would wake them up, but no. It's like they are on heroin. I've interacted with someone who I'm told was the owner, but I can't imagine someone so blah and uninterested decided to open a coffee shop. Been meaning to try this spot... absolutely love local coffee juice joints. Loved the local art displayed all over the place. My drink: I ordered the iced Matcha and Espresso shot. I had never seen this option before and I truly enjoyed it. I did add lavender to the drink which added a clear hint of calm to the espresso. The only suggestion I can think of is I hope they add a recycle option to the trash. Sitting enjoying my drink while staring at an over flowing small trash can was not appealing to the eyes. The amount of plastic wasted was sad. Hopefully this suggestion helps add another option for disposal of trash. read more

Updating my review of Tree Lounge as this place has only improved with time. They have some stellar coffees and treats here that keep me coming back. Tree Lounge has one of my favorite iced lattes in the 805. The Kona is my go to! Love the coconut and hazelnut flavors, really transports me away to being in Hawaii. It's delicious and not too strong. It's definitely my favorite drink here. Another second solid choice is their Iced Ube Latte. It's visually fun and the perfect amount of sweet for me. Always a good backup choice. I continue to be a fan of their sweet treats. Love the Ube options that they have on rotation. I was also super pumped to see that they support some other local bakery and fitness bites in their refrigerated section behind where the customers pay. Service has definitely improved since my last review a year ago. When I go now in the mornings there is usually a gentlemen working behind the counter and he is always very nice. He is friendly and inviting. I also appreciate on the days he is alone he takes and order and then makes the drink immediately. I think customers would prefer that then someone taking 4 orders and then everyone waits for their drinks to then get made. He has a good system and I appreciate the thoughtfulness. Only sorry I haven't caught his name (I'll work on that). A great little local coffee shop. Fun artist decor and I love the new mural that's outside. It's a perfect representation of Camarillo. I tried this place and got things to go. It was all really good. Got a small brown bear iced latte with almond milk also a square slice of the ube cake(heated). And 1 pandan cookie(green with powdered sugar). The girl behind the counter was doing everything and doing it well. It was a learning and fantastic experience. There is a lot of Lion pieces on the walls. You can sit inside or out(which is covered). I took things to go. But if you stay there they have ceramic plates for your food. And I can't remember, maybe mugs for your drinks. All in all the music, seats, and "counter intelligence" seemed great. The vibe was nice. I recommend this pleasant spot. I came in specifically to buy whole bean coffee after reading another review that said this place has the best espresso beans. Sadly the whole bean coffee on display and available was only decaf or one other bag to which the barista had no idea if it was medium or dark roast. I had wanted the drink with oat milk, but $1.25 extra was out of my budget, and a single latte being almost $10 was a little preposterous. I had never heard of Tree Lounge Coffee and met a friend there to try it. I tried the brown bear coffee, coffee cake, and a hot cocoa. The brown bear latte had a nice sweetness and cinnamon flavor that I enjoyed, but it overpowered the coffee flavor and I didn't taste much coffee. I wouldn't get this again for that reason. The coffee cake wasn't the traditional coffee cake crumble topping. It was more of frosting/glazed top. It was very sweet and rich and tasted very much like a dessert cake. Their cinnamon roll looked good and I should have tried that instead. The hot cocoa had a strong cinnamon flavor also. It seems like this coffee shop likes cinnamon! GETTING HERE: Tree Lounge is located on Ventura Boulevard in Camarillo, between Glenn and Palm Drives. Look for the American Tire Depot and you'll be all set. REVIEW: It was an OK visit, first-timer. Really trendy, cute coffee shop located in Old Town Camarillo. I was struck by the decor; so much amazing artwork displayed all over. Apparently, the artwork is done by local artists, which I feel is outstanding. People helping people. I love it. For me, it was very hard to chat with my guest due to the acoustics, but that's just me. It was very hard to ^not hear all the conversations of every other customer in the shop. On my next visit, I will just choose to enjoy my drink outside. Or, if you come here to work, I would highly recommend airpods or the like. My only drawback was the service. I don't know if it was because it was the end of the day, or what. But, there was no greeting. No smiles. Nothing that was friendly or even fake-friendly that would want to make me come again soon. I am willing to consider this visit a one-off and I will try again since I am nearby. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie that was basic at best. I am rounding up to 4 stars because of the community vibe that's present with showcasing art from local creators. And, because I want to go back asap and purchase that Bernie art piece. You can hang & do some work. The young gal who took my order & made my drink was sweet, polite & informative. They were out of their Holiday Drink, The Candy Cane Mocha. So I ordered a Hot Peppermint Latte. She was able to customize my order & make it less sweet for me. I enjoyed my Peppermint Latte. It went well with the Green Pandan Cookie. So good! So far so good! I'm an avid fan of going to coffee shops to get some work done and I'm always looking for good ~vibes~ and Tree Lounge definitely has them! Think intimate, indie artsy, calm, welcoming, and vibrant. I love the local art all around the walls for sale and the sense of community here. There are around 8 smaller tables inside and a covered patio with a couple of tables outdoors. There's also a larger table that has some games (e.g., chess, Connect Four), books, and coloring. The locals that come in here are a mix of young professionals getting some work in, young artists writing or drawing, and business-y types grabbing their cup of joe to-go. I'm so glad that Camarillo has a good coffee shop that I can spend some time in and recommend to others dropping in the area. During my visit, one of the local artists popped in and I got to watch their process of refreshing the wall with new pieces. I really enjoyed my iced hazelnut latte with oat milk, I don't have too much of a sweet tooth and this latte was not aggressively sweet. I saw that they carry Sugar & Grace Filipino desserts and was so stoked! I ended up ordering a pumpkin muffin that was perfect for Fall. Their specialty drink menu looks exciting and I'll have to come back to try the Mother Earth, Dark Mocha, and Ube latte next! Service was friendly and fast.
