TLDR: Typical McDonalds with an upgrade. Quick and accurate orders. Hash browns and the egg McMuffins are a good choices. I hear people raving about the McGriddle, but I opted for the traditional Egg McMuffin. This location is clean and efficient. It looks newer with ordering kiosks and delivery pick up areas. It did take longer to order from the kiosk, but I enjoyed looking through the available options. The kiosk prompts a lot of questions and only briefly shows your order number. Two of us were looking down to pay on the integrated terminal and missed the order number pop up. It displays the number for a few seconds. We then just had to check the completed order receipts to find the other completed orders. All of our orders were accurate and ready quickly. So McDonald's is just Iike the other fast-food majors ... some people love them and some people hate them. Same for Wendy's. There is one of each of these on opposite corners just outside Charlotte Douglas Airport ... on Boyer Street. They couldn't be more different. On Tuesday, June 4 the CLT airport was under big stress ... rain and electric storms caused a ground stop for outbound, stranding inbound to sitting on the tarmac on the outskirts. Long story short, everything was delayed 2 1/2 hours. Some drivers waiting for arrivals took advantage of the delay to go get some fast food. We drove over to the Boyer Street McDonalds but saw they had a long line at drive-thru, so we went across the street to Wendy's ... big mistake. We sat for minutes in the drive-thru at Wendys without moving, so we went inside ... big mistake. Three or four peeps were working that night, but you'd swear no one knew what they were doing. We stood behind an ill-informed patron talking to an ill-informed employee as they talked over each other. Eventually we left and went back across the street to the McDonalds. Now back at McDonalds some of the drive-thru had worn off and the wait wasn't too bad. But cheers to all the service people we talked to ... they were friendly, and knowledgeable. At payout we had the sweetest little lady take care of us ... she made the trip worthwhile. Food was the good usual McDonalds, nothing fancy just good fast food ... hot and fresh. Four stars for McDonalds and one star for Wendys. Next time we'll just go straight to McDonalds. read more

I couldn't understand what the employees were saying and they couldn't understand me (note: I was born here and my natural language is English). I would hope you'd train you employees what SALT is and KETCHUP is when a customer asks for both. I just got a blank stare, then someone else took my sack from the other employee, was gone for a couple of minutes, then handed it back to me and I drove off. Got to my destination, opened my McDonald's sack to eat and guess what was missing? Yep. Oh, not sure why my fries were almost cold (2 minute drive before I opened the sack to eat), and my burger tasted kind of funky. There are much better fast food choices out there than this McDonald's. I should have looked at the dismal reviews before I came here, but I'm not from the area. This McDonalds did really well. Food was hot and correct. Now this was fast food. Was in and out of the drive thru in less than 5 mins.

This was possibly the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I don't even know where to start. So many issues with our order. We ordered 4 Happy Meals, a chicken sandwich meal and a quarter pounder meal. 3 of the 4 Happy Meals were missing the apple slices. I ordered a quarter pounder without the cheese but added lettuce (30 cents extra) and a tomato (40 cents extra)... and was missing the tomato. The inconsistencies with the prices were mind boggling too. So Happy Meals are currently advertised for $3. Three of the four Happy Meals rang up as $3.39 while only one rang up $3. Then three of the four meals had an additional 24 cent drink upcharge. At first, I thought it might have been because they chose a fountain drink... but 2 of the 3 fountain drinks had an upcharge, one didn't, but the apple juice had an upcharge too. (??????????) So there were all these extra "mystery" charges with a usual $3 Happy Meal. And an extra 69 cents to add lettuce and tomato (of which I didn't even get the tomato). Dropping $30 on McDonald's isn't an everyday occurrence for me, you'd think you'd get some value for your $. In addition to the mishaps with the food and price, the employee taking orders was awful. No personality and gave my sister attitude when she asked to exchange a toy (bc they asked for a boy toy and received a girl's toy). THEN, the drink station was out of small/medium lids. I asked the same lady at the counter for a lid, she tells me they are over there. I look again, I only see the tiny kids-size and large lids... not the one I need. So at this point there is another customer behind me needing the same size lid. He literally opens the cabinet door looking through the storage area for the lid we need. NOT AN EMPLOYEE... A CUSTOMER IS LOOKING TO RESTOCK THE LIDS. So my sister goes and tells the same lady at the counter that there aren't any lids and the employee insists the lid we need is there. I have to take a kid-sized lid and physically show her that they are, in fact, too small before she gets me some lids from their side of the counter. Are you kidding me??? What the hell happened to customer service? At the initial comment of "Excuse me, there aren't any small/medium lids", an employee should have come out with an, "I'm so sorry about that, let me get you some." Instead of arguing with me about them being there (when they weren't). As for the cleanliness, this location could use a deep clean. I'm not high maintenance in any way. I feel I am completely honest and truthful in my reviews and this was by far, just an awful experience. And I find it shocking that fast food workers want to be paid $15/hr. Really? I have seen better and I can't say that I've seen worse. This is a very small McD's with only a few tables inside and a couple outside. Watching the crew for a bit, they seemed to be taking quite a while to get orders together and get people out the door. I wouldn't recommend this one if you're in a rush. It has the usual stuff of McDonald's - a Coke fountain, ice tea urns and napkin dispensers but ketchup only in packets. Credit card machines have the touchless sensors if your card supports that. On the plus side, the dining room is open 24 hours and they have three power outlets next to bolted-down tables and chairs. The wifi works well and the parking lot is well lit. Overview: This McDonald's is the closest McDonald's to the Charlotte Douglas Airport and the most convenient fast-food restaurant (tied with Wendy's next door) to eat or wait before or after an airport pickup. The Establishment: This McDonald's does not have a playpen but is very clean and has plenty of seating. I have never had to wait for a table, and the lines move very quickly. Good amount of parking, and close to a streetlight for easy an easy exit to back to the airport. The Food: The same sloppy McDonald's assembly, but gosh I do love how the burgers taste. I always get some kind of burger variant (Big Mac, double-cheeseburger, etc) and I am never disappointed. The quality control between individual McDonald's chains makes it a safe bet if you actually enjoy McDonald's food. Pricing is on-par with other North Carolina McDonalds' and cheaper than anything you can find at the airport. The Service: Slightly disgruntled looking employees but that food comes out so darn fast it doesn't matter. Overview: This McDonald's is clean, in a great location close to the CLT airport, and has good prices. While my aunt was sad that they don't have regional specials like the double-jalapeno cheeseburger, I cannot fault McDonald's for their taste. I generally like McDonald's, but I had a bad experience at this location. I was off work at 11:00pm, and decided to treat myself to a late night snack. I went on Google maps and saw this location was open 24 hours. Then I went on the McDonald's app which also showed it open 24 hours, so I placed my order on the McDonald's app, which was accepted. When I got to the restaurant I was surprised to see only a few cars there. I pull up to the first speaker, and an automated voice tells me to go to 2nd speaker. I go to the 2nd speaker, there is a piece of paper taped over it that says something like: "this system is not available after 11:00pm". (Mind you it did NOT say the restaurant was closed.) At this point I was getting a bit confused and other cars are pulling up behind me. So I go to the first window where you normally pay, nothing. Then I go to the 2nd window, nothing. The restaurant is fully lit both inside and out, this is starting to get annoying. I see other cars circling the restaurant trying to figure out how to order. I finally get out of my car and attempt to enter the restaurant, the door is locked and the restaurant is closed! Right next to me is a HUGE sign that says "24 HOURS. When you're up, we're up" Totally ridiculous that in the year 2021 and present day technology that you can't figure out how to update your app to show the restaurant is closed, or at least turn off the lights before you go home. McDonald's employees where I live currently are NOT friendly, I am used to pulling up through the drive thru and hearing "What do you want" as a greeting. So when I heard a young lady say "Welcome to McDonalds can I take your order please", it was music enough at my first stop from the airport to make me warm up inside. Because of the fact that it was 8:45 in the evening of November 10, 2017, I was in my rental car from the airport on my way to my parents house for the evening, I wasn't in a state of mind to catch her name. I found out their screen system is not working for the drive through, but the speaker works at least. The employee says the system is down. I asked can I still order from here or order at the window. Worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I'm working night shift and am extremely limited on options for eating leaving me with this "24 hour" McDonald's. The past 3 nights and many nights before I have gone and been told that their "system was down" I just pulled in tonight and witnessed all employees outside for a smoke break and one of them exclaimed that their system was down and they weren't taking orders. Because I was on first light standby, I got to the breakfast counter as soon as it opened. I counted four employees, and two customers, and another couple of customers arriving before I left this splendid eatery. The cashier took my order and my money, then told my order to the prep people who slumped only a couple of feet away from her. I waited. And waited. The alleged biscuit on my breakfast sandwich was probably yesterday's version of a croissant, Soggy, flat, gooey. Yuk. While I was examining this mess, the prep employee told the poor Eastern European guy who was struggling with English that "there ain't no bar-ree-toes wadja want?" yikes. Even repeating it wasn't going to help the visitor (or me) to understand that advice. The visitor was a lot more nimble than I would have been in his position. He glanced up at the menu board and defaulted to another combo number. Doubt he even knew what would be handed to him. What I doubted even more was the situation. A cashier at the start of business doesn't know that there are menu items missing from the kitchen. Then she continues to take money from arriving customers for the missing "Bar-ree-toes."
