I order from here frequently, I use DoorDash, so I'm not sure if the staff is friendly or if the restaurant is clean. One thing I can tell you, a double cheeseburger meal costs $35 no tip included. Sometimes the weather forces you to do things you otherwise wouldn't do. During a recent winter storm I found myself driving south on I-95 trying to escape a Nor'easter that canceled my flight out of Hartford, so a few hours earlier I made the decision to drive to Washington's Dulles Airport to catch a fight back to Orlando, maybe not the smartest thing I've ever done but I had no desire to spend the next three days waiting for the airlines to catch up on their flight cancellations. The snow fall measured in inches per hour and the highway crews battling the storm were losing the fight to keep the roads passable, as I crawled in traffic that only this sector of the country can bear, not wanting to stop for any length of time fearing the roads could be closed at any moment I decided to get my caffeine fix and get rolling as fast as possible. I exited the interstate to grab a hot coffee at what may be the most southern McDonald's off I-95 southbound in the great state of Connecticut. The falling flakes were blowing sideways as I crept up to the drive-thru and cracked my window just enough to place my order. It was a simple order - a large coffee extra hot with extra cream, I thought I was clear in my delivery but it was met with total silence. I repeated my order but again no response, so I lowered my window and tried again while getting battered by these giant wet snow flakes finally a voice came back repeating something similar but broken and foreign to me so I decided to pull around since I seem to be the only customer around. As I approach the pay window a young woman appeared asking me to repeat my order once again, with my window completely down I patiently complied with my payment in hand and then the wait began. Finally she reappeared handed me my drink and quickly closed the window without giving me my change, I tapped the horn to get her attention as the left side of my body continued to get soaked the same young lady appeared and asked me to please repeat my order - I just shook my head and smiled then slowly pulled away thinking this five dollar cup of coffee better be the best I've ever had, come to find out that wasn't the case... read more

The three stars are for the standard efficient service at this location. The dining area was clean. It was easy and free to park. The lobster roll was the worst I ever had: a lot of iceberg lettuce and tiny amount of lobster meat on a small bun. You could hardly taste the flavor of the lobster meat. The size portion was too small to be satisfying. I can't recommend and will not re-order this dish. read more

Fast Food Prices are higher here due to the location in the rest stop on I-95 - so you really cannot complain about the cost if you are too lazy to exit the highway proper and look for something to eat. I've eaten here a few times, because it's convenient, and every time my order (always the same) costs more. ORDER #594 WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! STAY AWAY! I'm not one to write negative reviews but I've experienced the WORST customer service ever at this Mcdonald's location. My friend and I stopped here on our way back to NYC from Rhode Island because it was National Cone's Day and the voucher was on our Mcdonald's app. I walked in, go up to the counter to order the Lobster Roll since it was offered in certain states only and also got a cone since that was the entire point of the pit stop. The cashier rings up my order, I scan the bar code to have the price of the ice cream taken off my bill and paid for the total of the order. It was only after I paid that I noticed I had been charged for the cone even though I had scanned the bar code in the app! So, what do I do? I bring up the matter to the cashier who proceeds to grab her manager who asks if I want someone of that value ($1.16) to make up for the voucher not working. Since there was literally nothing that I wanted, I asked for my money back in which case, the manager grabs who I assume to the supervisor for the place. Let me tell you.. she is the RUDEST person EVER. All she kept saying was how since it was a voucher, there was nothing she could do and she was SO quick to grab my receipt and threw it away when I showed her the proof that I had in fact been charged for something that I shouldn't have. She did not even try to offer me any sort of compensation to make up for this glitch. No attempts, no sort of friendly negotiation. This really was not over the fact that I had to pay an extra $1.16 for the cone. This is a matter of how badly trained the lady manager working (7/16/17 around 8pm) was trained and how rudely she had treated her manager. She did not even attempt to give me a cash refund or any sort of adjustment/compensation but instead was quick to throw the customers out. All the other Mcdonalds I've been to were always courteous but this branch needs a major upgrade and improvement in attitude and customer satisfaction. read more

Extremely upset with the customer service at this location. Usually at the register there is a very nice older Spanish man who is extremely helpful and kind and never has a problem. Today they had a new woman with a short black haircut, a lot of facial piercings and a horrible attitude. Tried to use my mobile app this morning in the drive through and told the cashier, politely, numerous times the code I was attempting to use to which I was asked (more like told in an annoyed manner) to keep repeating. I buy breakfast for my coworkers at least 3 times a week at multiple McDonald's locations and have never been treated so poorly. After telling the cashier the code at least 6 times, she told me that it is not a code they have and I am wrong. I was told to pull forward after I told them I have it still pulled up on my phone and after showing the cashier the code I did state many times, she stated that it is not in fact working. Normally in customer service they will assist you with the problem but instead I was told that "maybe if I was nicer" she would help me but she would not.. who says that to a paying customer? If you don't like your job work somewhere else. Will no longer be coming to this location as the cashier seems to mock you and refuses to solve any issues they have with the app. read more

My server was friendly and gave my daughter a happy meal toy that someone was exchanging in spite of the fact that we weren't purchasing one ourselves. That's all they'll get because there's no dollar menu and they are more expensive because they know they have you unless you want to get off the highway. They same double cheeseburger that costs me $1.29 at home cost me $2.29. My large diet coke cost me $2.39 regularly costs me $1.69. I guess it's just a simple matter of supply and demand. read more

Stopped there at 9pm to grab two breakfast burritos and a small decaf coffee. Bill came to around $8. If I stopped at McDonalds not on the highway, then price would have been half that. The McDonald's at the N/B Darien service area on I-95 is probably the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. They didn't bother taking one of the McDonald's coupons I had, even though it was valid in Fairfield County. The chicken sandwich I ordered was laden with enormous globs of mayonnaise that nearly drowned the chicken at times. The fries were horrific...tasted like stale cardboard that had been cooked hours earlier. Save yourself the trouble of stopping at a rest stop along I-95 unless you need to hit the restroom or pick up gas. You're better off stopping at other places along some of the exits instead for food. read more
