Overall the food was pretty good, but not fantastic. I had the chicken breast chicken Parmesan w/ spaghetti, chicken noodle soup and a toasted roll with ice tea to drink. The warmed cherry pie alamode was excellent! The atmosphere is everything I expect from a classic diner. The service was very good as well. Went late night as a group of 3. Easy sit down and great diner vibes. Greek iced coffee is DELICIOUS (and VERY strong). All food ordered at my table was honestly delicious. No complaints. It's a simple diner and you're getting diner food - don't expect anything crazy intricate, but you can expect the food to be good. We ordered eggs and bacon and it came fast, hot and delicious. The coffee is great and everything hits for a perfect diner meal with regular food. If you like NYC diners you'll like this. It's 3:05 am and I just got to town, I'm starving, the site and everything related online to this Curly's diner, says they close at 4 am and again call at 3:05 AM to make an order to pick up I can be there in 15 minutes.... The lady that picks up the phone says I can't order they close at 3:30 and says sorry there's nothing on the website Or anywhere that says anything about 4am closing or on website information... I can understand if you're closing early but even if I made the order right now and they're closing time was 3:30 AM instead of the 4 AM as it posts and boasts both on every single platform that list its business name... the close time as 4 am and my order, if I was allowed to order, would still be finished and put in before their unadvertised closing time ... . If you want the best burger in a one-mile radius, go to Curley's. Yes, the diner. They know how to make a superior flame broiled, char-grilled burger (not fried). And they also happen to have the best price in town for that burger. And, if you want fries with that, no problem. They do not skimp on the sides! And their desserts are beyond compare. We are visiting from out of state we came here for breakfast and it was so good! 10/10 I don't understand why people say not good breakfast everything we had was delicious we ate everything! The staff was warm, friendly and tended to us right away, could not have asked for better service. The diner is very spacious and has a very homie kind of vibe we loved it! Quick service, super friendly staff and parking during the day. Win win! I ordered a sliced corn beef, egg and cheese on a plain bagel it was $5.60 with tax. It was decent, nothing to write home about. But the staff was excellent, friendly and super accommodating. They said they normally serve corn beef hash and eggs on a bagel or hard roll instead of what I had. Which actually sounds delicious I might have to try that. The burger deluxe was a good deal and it was tasty. Better rolls are needed though. The pineapple coconut cake tasted like Pepperidge Farm's equivalent. The pastrami reuben was okay. Service was friendly. An extra star for the nostalgic vibe of the diner but one star lost for the exterior, which is in need of immediate work. Being a New Yorker, I can appreciate a good Diner. The abandoned industrial photography around the room sets the tone really well, and the food is excellent. They gave me a fruit salad in a sundae glass, and all good fruits, none of that honey dew nonsense. And their eggs are on point, with Canadian bacon! We didn't mind paying for the over priced piece of cake since it was a 24 hour dinner. We paid 4.50 for a slice of tiramisu cake and left. Luckily we live close by, so when I opened the box to find MOLD RIDDEN CAKE it was easy to rush back. What was hilarious was the manager Paulina's reaction. She was shocked naturally as any human being. But when I asked her how old the cake I purchase was, she stammered and had no response. She tried to cover her tracks and said "well I know the cheesecake is fresh".... that's great, but that didn't answer my question. No apology from Paulina or staff, just a bunch of servers trying to wave off the blame. Paulina quickly gave me a cash refund and we left immediately. Don't believe it? Look for yourself. Seriously gross- Curley's, you should be ashamed of yourselves for serving old food. Curley's will always have a special place in my heart. The staff makes you feel like family. I went here a few weekends in a row ordering the same breakfast (corned beef hash and eggs), and the waitress quickly memorized my order. Love the food, love the service and the price is economical. I went in early one morning and there was someone passed out in the booth the night before (open 24/7), which I thought was hilarious. There are a lot of random religious groups that eat here early morning on the weekends, that seem kind of cult-ish. They provide some interesting eavesdropping lol. They were renovating for a long time, because the high rise construction next door destroyed their roof. It was finally fixed, but I feel bad that it took so long. They are a family owned business and lent their parking lot to the Constructors for months. Glad to see that it's is finally fixed and hope they got compensated for their hardship! read more

My father was the short order cook at Curley's Diner for 20+ years and Curley was around. These reviews would be a LOT different if written when he was there. I know that people not only came in to eat, but to watch dad work. He was fast, efficient and well liked by customers. I used to love going there with my mom when I was a kid. The food DEFINITELY wasn't trash back then!! It was a show watching dad work. Then it was off to Bloomingdale's just a short walk from Curley's.... but, yeah, we drove. Stopped in for dinner after a wonderful walk around the Mill River Park for the Prelude art exhibit. Not only the name, but the old school shiny sided diner car was the draw for Curley's. I mean, how can you go wrong with a name like Curley's, right? Inside - not so shiny. Apparently, the diner is no longer what it once was (see 1 star review from Ellen, whose father was the short order cook for 20+ years and Curley was around). Food was bad at best. This establishment is operated by dabblers. Slyly adding a tip to the check for a party of 2 without notice is dubious. When questioned, the server/manager/owner replied, "We always do that". Hmmm. I'm not really sure what happened to the other reviewers but my experience at Curley's Diner was pleasant and I did not have any problems with the food. We had a long day and we didn't feel like going anywhere too far from the hotel. I ordered The Ranger which is a New York strip steak sandwich served with an egg, french fries and a pickle on the side. The steak was cooked fine and seasoned well. I was left satisfied at the end of my meal. If you're expecting some fancy eatery, look elsewhere. Curley's is an old fashioned diner with booths and it's open 24 hours so you can mosey on over any time of day or night. In my brief experience here, the dining options in Stamford are pretty limited unless you want to head into NYC. I would come back to eat here if I'm ever in the area again. read more
