    Secret Garden Tea

Loved the secret garden tea!! Will definitely come back to try some of the other options. Nice spot to sit and have tea/coffee and catch up with some friends!

This is a relaxed cafe with a great vibe and eclectic music. The albums are featured on the wall, too. The espressos and teas are flavorsome. They have pastries and select breakfast and lunch options. The oatmeal and avocado toast with an egg are tasty and good portions. They have gluten free bread, too, for the toast! If you want to bring home some beans, they have bags available for purchase and you get select free drinks with each bag purchased. The staff is friendly.

    Nasty people working there

Worst service EVER!!! Never, never go there! Rude, ran out of what I ordered. Couldn't refund me. No manager and then rolled eyes at me!!

    Heirloom Tomato Toast
    Samantha H.

This was my first time coming to Turning Point and I would definitely come back! The heirloom tomato toast was by far the best of the things I tried, it was topped with really fresh ingredients and the smooth cheese with the crunchy toast was delish. I was less impressed with the quinoa bowl-- the peanut lime dressing was just really acidic and didn't taste that great. Everything beneath it was not dressed at all which makes sense but it ended up being pretty bland spinach, quinoa, and bell peppers with an overpowering dressing on top. I also found the cold brew to be really acidic but had a spicy of my friend's horchata and enjoyed that much more. Service was friendly and food came out fast! (*Review posted late, my visit was at the end of August)

Avacado toast w/ eggs, bacon, and sourdough bread

Looking for breakfast options, I stopped by Turning Point after hearing some rave reviews. The small storefront is cozy and seats up to 3-4 groups, with a counter next to the window with individual seating; it looks like you can get work done here if you'd like, but client turnover was pretty frequent as well. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and their avocado toast with eggs and bacon (toppings cost extra) on sourdough. While I liked the coffee, the avocado toast was a definite win for me; the portion was sizeable and perfect for brunch. Combined, the two items were almost ~$20, so I'll definitely have to save this option as a (worthwhile) treat for every now and then. Parking is plentiful with a lot in front and an adjacent unused lot, which is also a plus.

Excellent Frontliner. Dylan. God Bless you! and stay safe always.

I always get excellent service here. Love their coffee and I have been coming here for years. Today, Dylan got my coffee ready even before I stepped inside, I didn't even order ahead. He said he saw me pull in. Lol. Im so glad this kind of service still exists. Love this coffee shop, love Dylan! Get your morning fix here everyday. Avocado toast is awesome too.

We went in this cafe because we had a meeting in Stamford. We had avocado toast and salmon toast with tea and a glass of beautiful floral and delicate Sauvignon blanc on the side (wines are served from 9am!). The toasts were drizzled with reduced balsamic vinegar. Generous serving and freshly warm on multi grain artisan bread. We like it a lot!! We will return if we are in the neighborhood again.

This is the biggest avocado toast I've ever seen
    Michelle H.

Great little cafe to work in and unexpectedly amazing food. I thought I would only go in for a drink and to study, but after seeing their menu, I decided to give the avocado toast a shot. I was very pleasantly surprised at just the look of it. It was a huge cut of multigrain toast so not only was I getting my fill of avocado, but I was also getting some multi grains in there too. Win win. Besides it looking huge, it tasted great. Whoever their chef is was not playing any games when it came to delivering on their lunch menu. It had flavor coming from whatever seasoning they used along with the cut up radishes. It was just great, but not big enough for me to not eat the whole thing. There's always enough room to finish a tasty meal. The drink was also very well made. I had the chai tea latte, and it was just right. Usually I like mine sweeter, but this seemed to do the trick. If you're studying or working, this is a great place to do it. It seemed to be pretty quiet with lots of outlets. Although, it's not the biggest cafe so try to get there before the others do.

We got there and sat down immediately. Service was nothing special, but the waiter was pleasant. I ordered the lunch special smash burger, which was very tasty. I also ordered the calamari, which was slightly salty but had great flavor. The pizza was very good as well, but when it came to the dessert (cheesecake and chocolate gelato), they weren't that good and left a bad aftertaste. We asked our waiter if it could be taken off the menu, so he went to get the manager. The manager came to the table and explained why we should like the desserts and that no one complains since the chefs are from Brooklyn and the cheesecake is made in-house. He was very reluctant to take these items off the menu. Everyone has different palates, so why are you talking as if I'm supposed to like it since everyone else does? This didn't sit well with me, and the vibe was off from there. We liked the food, but it wasn't worth the hype around it. Our waiter was still pleasant through it all.

Then someone who was sitting at the bar came to give us menus and said to sit anywhere. We finally sat and a waitress named Gabby came took our orders. I ordered a Steak salad no mushrooms sweet potato fries and the person I was with got a hot oil pizza. Pretty easy. Well waitress brought out the pizza and I waited and waited and waited, no salad no fries. I asked the waitress where my salad was she said she was going to check on it, never happened she then went to tables and started to take orders. I was getting frustrated and my friends pizza was now cold as she was waiting for me. After waiting for about 10 mins I went to the bar and explained to the bartender and she went to check and came out with my food. Not once did the waitress come to check on us. My salad was suppose to have tomatoes which it did not. I flagged down the waitress and asked her and she said she would bring some right out once again I waited and waited by that time my friends pizza was soggy and she said it didn't even taste that great. As I waiting I was eating the sweet potato fries and ate some of the salad but it was literally just lettuce, onion, Gorgonzola and steak, I wanted those tomatoes. I asked her yet again and she said she would get them then attended to other tables so I just started to eat my salad. I was finished had my salad plate empty at the end of the table then FINALLY a gentleman brought out a plate of tomatoes I told him I didn't need them and I finished my food and he replied "she just told me" I told him I asked her for them 20 minutes ago. Very disappointed I did speak to the bartender and leave some feedback not sure if it made its way to whoever but I appreciate her helping

Got there early ahead of our reservation to get drinks at the bar. I ordered a dirty vodka martini and my husband got a gin martini. They got the order wrong and gave us both dirty martinis. I was briefly excited by them asking if I wanted blue cheese olives but even those were dry since you can see them on the bar pre-skewered, sitting in a container, not in brine. We finished our drinks and then moved to a table. We were not given water when seated. Placed an order for another round of drinks then (smartly) made the decision to order a mix of apps first before our entrees. Placed an order for another round of drinks, got the gnocchi, dumplings & wings. Food hit our table before our drinks arrived and we had to ask for water. Now onto the actual food - sadly, nothing good to say about it: - Sticky Gochujang Wings: well fried wing but WAY too much vinegar in the sauce not at all a Gochujang flavor - Sweet Chili Dumplings: Panda Express sauce a cloyingly sweet. Would expect more from a place like this. Also the filling of the dumpling tasted like it had curry seasoning? Curry + sweet chili are not flavors that mix - at least not in this dish. - Gnocchi: The sauce was broken/so grainy and gritty and the gnocchi itself SO DENSE. After this bad show, it was a no-brainer that we were gonna take our night and appetites elsewhere. So disappointing. Feels like they have a lot of service issues. Staff felt new even though they've been open for a year or so now. Unless some big changes happen, I have no interest in coming back.

I've dined here several times over the past year plus. I'm struggling with where to land this…read morereview rating-wise because the food and drinks are always really great. Service, however, can be extremely hit or miss. I feel like 4 stars is appropriate because most of the time, it's a hit -- but when it's a miss, you almost feel abandoned at your table... The couple of times this has happened, the server was also very rude. Again, 90% of the time, really great and wonderful service experience, too. Additionally, it can get very loud in the restaurant and I'm relatively soft-spoken, so it can be very difficult for me to communicate with the servers. The experience at the bar has always been so lovely. Both the outdoor patio and indoor seating... Great vibe, great lighting. I've dined here enough, solo and in groups, to have had all of the following: To sip: - Espresso Martini: Very good espresso martinis here! - Manhattan: Classic. Great. - Agave Club: Good, sweet (as expected). - Socialite: Good. They make a good, classic Negroni and the red wine offerings are good. I'm not a huge CA wine person, but their Chianti on the menu from Italy is good. Must be medium-high in sulfite levels though because I do tend to get a little stuffy... but that's ok. :) To eat: - Burrata: Delicious but you really cannot go wrong here. - Charcuterie Board: Great to share. - Rock Shrimp Bao Buns: Ordered once. I continue to do without. They are really good but for me, personally, there's better on the menu. - Oysters: Basic but delicious selection. I just love oysters. - Organic Scottish Salmon: Very good. - Black Pot Mussels - Manieri: Amazing mussels and that white wine to accompany... Perfect. - Hanger Steak: Yum. - Greens and Quinoa Salad: Love it, very sesame-forward. If you do not like sesame, do not order. If you love it, go for it. - Spicy Lobster Fettucini: This is SO. GOOD. Have ordered this several times... Once, I had it two nights in a row dining in and I love it every time. Really good pasta dish and the amount of lobster is generous and the delicate flavor, surprisingly, does not get lost. Always plated beautifully. To end: - Caramel Brioche: REALLY great dessert; decadent. - Ricotta Cheesecake Brûlée: Amazing. The blueberry marmalade is so good.
