This is going to sound crazy on so many levels so just bear with me. I was on a road trip with my wonderful mama and she saw a billboard advertising the return of the McRib and she literally started hollering to stop at the next McDonald's we saw on the road. I started laughing because I thought she was joking, but then I decided to call her bluff and this location was at the very next exit. Turns out she wasn't joking. Go ahead and check off the first box of insanity right there. Apparently she has loved these nasty pork-ish, rib-shaped glops of mystery "meat" and "other ingredients" for decades and, since she lives in a very small rural Southern town back East, she informed me that only certain states were "lucky enough to be getting the McRib back" (her words exactly). We were in California and inexplicably, it is one of those "lucky states" (her words again, not mine) so we stopped to get her a pork patty fix. I'm writing this 5 star review for a major franchise fast food joint because the employees and manager and cleaning staff and cooks here deserve it. The place was spotlessly clean with several bussers constantly wiping down tables and booths. This place was sparkling from the soda dispenser to the floors. Next, the employees were genuinely helpful (showing us how to use the fancy new self-ordering machines) and eager to welcome us in for lunch. There was a big crowd inside, but the lines moved quickly because everyone was well trained and efficient. If you place your own order at the new touch screens, remember to take a number out of the side pocket and place it on your table. Someone will deliver your food to you when it's ready -- because a McRib and a super size order of fries should be a classy experience. I didn't like how the iced tea wasn't self serve, instead I had to go up to the counter and ask someone to fill it up for me. It was a minor annoyance but again the staff was SO good that as I was waiting for the employee to fill up my tea, I had THREE others ask how they could help me! And this was a roadside McDonald's! I haven't eaten at a McDonald's in years so I cannot speak about the food quality or if it was better or worse than other locations, but I had a nice salad and some chicken tenders and it tasted good and greasy. But of course it tasted good, it was salty fast food and everybody loves fast food. They gave me two giant sides of high fructose corn syrup for dipping (I refrained), but sauce lovers would appreciate that. They also are stingy with the napkins and ketchup packets here so ask for extra. I was so impressed with everything about this place that I told the manager what a great experience I had, and I think I'll send an email to the corporate office too. A great, clean, friendly and fast place to stop. And yeah, Mama tore into that McRib but when she was finished said that she never, ever needed to eat another one again in her life...like, EVER. read more

This place doesn't deserve a star. The Night Shift is horrible! No customer service. They don't even bother making eye contact with you. I can't hear them most of the time because they talk to the cash register. Management needs to step it up in all honesty. If management can't get it right...corporate needs to do something. Also, I ordered coffee through the app once, and waited 15 minutes to pick it up given that it was 8 cups (all black), and I stayed waiting for 37 minutes! Bad quality of coffee, it tastes really bad... This fast food uses tap water not filtered. I tasted chlorine from my cup of coffee. To clarify & verify I went to their beverage vending machine & grab some water from the labeled filtered water, it's completely tap water & it wasn't filtered at all. This place is disgusting. I happen to be familiar with McDonald's coffee... This place is so disappointing; at first, the coffee they served me was room temperature so I asked them to give me a hot one, oh yeah, they gave me a warmer one but not hot. This McDonald's has the worst service I have ever experienced. I am allergic to pickles so I ordered a filet-o-fish with mayo instead of tartar sauce. They charged me extra for the substitution. Shouldn't make a difference if it's one sauce vs the other, they are the same kind of ingredient and I wasn't asking for extra. Snap! I really loved this McDonalds. I am not sure why the mediocre star reviews, but the location was clean, the personnel very nice (which is unique in the fast food industry), and they add value to service by promoting their new Build-Your-Own-Burger Kiosk, where you use a touchscreen to press what type of bun you want, what type of meat, with all the toppings and condiments you like. Just for trying their new Build-Your-Own-Burger kiosk service, they add a medium fry and medium drink GRATIS(FREE)! What? What? I made my own Jalapeño Sautéed Mushroom Burger with Mac Sauce. (I'll make a comment here real quick. Press MAC sauce twice on the kiosk if given the choice when building that delicious one-of-a-kind-YOU burger to ensure proper flavor coverage.) My taste buds hit the roof. The bun was all sorts of freshness like right from a baker's rack!!!! The burger patty was thick and delicious. Plus adding my own toppings was the icing on the cake...really designed for me in mind around what I love in a burger. So try this new service at least once. We have come three times this week to Delano at this McDonalds location. The two times we came in, one of the two ladies restroom stalls was out of order. As you can imagine, always a line in ladies room. This place is usually clean and service is quick, but not always helpful if you have questions. I decided to give this McDonald's one last chance after avoiding it for months. And of course I was asked to pull out of the drive through after paying to wait for my food. There were no cars in front of me and no cars behind me. I was literally the only customer in drive through. So a short wait for my food, with nobody else waiting, turned into a very long wait outside of the drive through for the food to be prepared and the employee to walk it out to me. This location cares only about its drive through times and cares nothing about its customers. I will not visit this location again and urge others to stay away as well. read more

Stopped here to meet up with my sweethearts family. Used the restroom which was clean and so was the dining area. They have kiosks to order your food but they were not on since no one was waiting in line. They have indicators (those types when your table is ready) to tell you when your food is ready but they still deliver it to your table. Seems like a new shopping area in rural delano. Just the worst service here. I went through the drive thru today. Ordered a 10pc nugget meal, Qtr pounder meal, & a Deluxe Qtr pounder meal. I go to the window to pay & redeem & used a coupon for a buy one Qtr pounder GET A FREE Qtr pounder . I get to the 2nd window. I checked my order in the bag and now I have 2 Qtr pounder meals & the the 10 pc meal, what happened to the Deluxe Qtr pounder I ORIGINALLY ordered? So the employee knows what I'm talking about, so she calls the manager to do something on the cash register to fix it BUT THE MANAGER says I got a free Qtr pounder. YES I KNOW THAT'S WHAT I REDEEMED, but where is the Deluxe Qtr Pounder I ordered in the 1st place? He said That I redeemed a free regular Qtr pounder . I KNOW I DID, but what happened to the sandwich I originally ordered? He just kept bringing up that I got a free one, which I didn't care about now. Went there at 9:30pm and my filet o fish tasted like it had been sitting there all day took two bites and tried give the rest to my dog and he wouldn't even eat it....same goes for the most disgusting cheese burger I've ever had. I need gluten free food. Why I thought I could get some at mcdonalds I don't know but I tried. The manager was so phuking unhelpful I might never eat there again. I was able to substitute sausage for pancakes on the deluxe big breakfast, they no longer have regular big breakfast that comes without pancakes, two weeks ago. The "manager" today told me I couldn't do any of the substitutes. So basically she chose to not help me. It's probably my fault for going there in first place but few options to go to from where I work. So I hose to try. They chose to not help.
