The service here certainly leaves much to desire, from long wait lines in restaurant and drive thru, to screwing up easy orders, to having to put ur own orders inside their kiosk while employees stand around, I try to avoid this one. I only have gone here because close to home but I always regret it. There is nothing for kids here either like McDonald's used to have. BK is much better down the street. read more

I have now been here about 7 times since my boyfriend and I moved from Quarryville and the only thing that's good about this place is that the food is hot when you get it. However, here's what's happened since I first moved here. All times I've gone, the service is terrible! I place my order and then I'm standing around for maybe 20 minutes before I get food. One time I went for breakfast and an employee who was off duty, with a baby I might add and no one to watch it, went back to help with the orders. Even then it still took 20 minutes. Quarryville didn't have a McDonalds so I was happy to find out there was one about a mile from where we moved, but getting the food took longer than an average McDonalds. The one over on 322 is a little better, but seriously, this one needs to get their act together... read more

I placed my order at 5:21 and it's now 5:43 and I'm still sitting in the drive thru line. People behind me have come and gone. I'm waiting on 4 pc nuggets and 2 fries. Seriously they can't get that right Another employee came to my car but still didn't have my order. It was for the 3rd car behind me which meant they had just ordered. She asked if I wanted to speak to the manager and I said yes. Less than 3 minutes later the same employee came back out with my food. I asked where the manager was and she said she's not coming out. I could go in if I wanted too. No I think she should come speak to the angry customer who's been sitting in her drive thru pickup line for over a half hour. So to wrap this up I ordered at 5:21 and received my food at 5:53. I had a 3 minute drive to where the food was going to eaten and it was cold and the fries were not cooked all the way nor were they salted. First off let me start by saying that I try and avoid this McDonald's as much as possible and always try to go to the one up by giant on 322. The McDonald's at the cloister is seriously a joke. I have never had a good experience there. However, due to all that wack ass construction up on 322, I have HAD to go to the cloister one. I know this is gonna sound bad, but I go to McDonald's every single morning and I get the exact same thing. Lol....a sausage McGriddle with cheese, a caramel frappe with EXTRA EXTRA CARAMEL and an oatmeal without the apples and raisins. I feel like it's a very simple order ‍ Oh but it is not!! I mean it's a packet of frickin oatmeal that you dump into a container, pour the water in and a splash of cream. They don't even have to boil water cuz it's already hot coming out of the coffee machine. I swear it's like soup when I get it. Filled to the top with so much water that I'd be better off using a straw rather than a spoon. I hate being the person that complains and sends stuff back, cuz I've worked in a restaurant most of my life and I get it...I really do feel for people in the food industry. But I very politely show them the soup and ask them to remake it. I even explain how to make it properly so it doesn't happen a second time. I'm on my way to work and this is pretty much the only meal I eat so it's gotta be edible. I have sent my oatmeal back at LEAST once, every time I order it. Actually....one time they forgot to put the water in completely and I made the mistake of not checking the bag before I drove away. Let's get to my frappe...I can't even tell you how much I emphasize the word EXTRA when I order my caramel frappe: sometimes they even do their job and put it on the receipt! But every time I get it there isn't even the normal amount on it. I'm putting up a picture of today's frappe that I ordered with extra caramel drizzle and I even said to the employee, please make sure they put extra on it for me. Well as you can see, well actually u can't see cuz there is no caramel on it, they messed that up. The other picture is the frappe from the other McDonald's that I got yesterday. So after only being the 4th car in the drive thru line, I waited 10-12 minutes to get to the order screen, then another 5-6 min til I got to the pay window. Finally made it to the pick up window where they handed me the frappe that I could already see had no caramel on it, but I wasn't gonna say anything cuz I was just gonna deal with it and go home. Then I'm handed a bag with my McGriddle in it and he hands me the oatmeal separately without a bag, which is fine, whatever, I'm gonna eat it right away anyway. But I can see the water is actually splashing out the sides of the lid cuz it's so full of water. Not kidding it looked like just a cup of hot water. I know it is not the nice, older gentleman's fault that is at that window, so I was very polite and told him to please have them remake the oatmeal and this time, make it properly. So they have me pull around to the side to wait for my oatmeal. So all of that just took about 7-8 minutes. So when the nice kid brought it out to my car, I thanked him and left. Of course I looked at it as I pulled away and it was just as bad. So much for FAST food. And there's no point in complaining or talking to a manager cuz they are just clueless and rude. I managed a few restaurants and I know it's frustrating and I know customers are a pain in the butt! But when it's clearly the staff thats not doing their job correctly, the manager shouldn't have an attitude with the customer. I know businesses are short staffed and employees are being over worked and people make mistakes: but the same mistake every morning is ridiculous!! BTW.... The McDonald's on 322, by giant is AMAZING! My order is always pretty much perfect, nobody ever has to wait more than 5 minutes for their food and the staff there are incredible! Even if they do mess up, they don't get an attitude with me about it, they apologize and correct it. END RANT! read more

You should probably bring a book; you'll finish a chapter or two in the time it takes for them to prepare your order, make their first walkout attempt to hand you your order - only to realize it's the wrong order, go back in to fuss with their coworkers about the wrong order, presumably wait again for them to make the correct order, and then make their second walkout to hand your your order -- assuming it's correct and you're one of the lucky few that doesn't have to repeat the charade, or weren't negligently forgotten about amongst their repeated attempts. read more

Absolutely terrible service every time I go here. I was in the drive through and they gave me the wrong order. So I went inside and they gave me my order, which ended up being wrong too. They gave me three times what I asked for and charged me for it. I then gave it back and said it's still wrong so they gave me a refund for what was wrong. Then the third time they gave me a new order but there was still one item missing. Finally after the fourth time I was given the right order. 30min total I spend at this junk hole trying to get breakfast. Embarrassing for this chain. read more

Stay away from this location. This place is abysmal. Absolutely bad. They take your order, you sit in the drive thru what seems like forever. You pay for your order in the first window, and you go to the second one, only to find out, that after 5-10 mins of waiting at the 2nd window, you need to pull around and wait another 10-20 mins there. I understand that they might be short-staffed. But it's been like this for years and all the other McD's in the Lancaster County are so much better and efficient. Alright if you can avoid this place please please do. The wait is too long, probably half an hour in the drive through. And you can't as of 9/27/21 order inside you have to use the inside screens. The food is cold and doesn't taste right. The people are grumpy and never helpful I've only had maybe 2 in 100 good experiences. Plus they're heavily short staffed. Probably 5 ppl working in there. Wish I could give at least 2 stars but I have no reason too. I've probably had some good food like some of their burgers are have decent, but overall it's not a good McDonald's easily the worst I've been too. If you want good quality McDonald's you have to go to the one by Starbucks on 322. Fast ordering and the food is always hot and really good. I don't normally go to McDonalds or any fast food restaurant because I don't typically eat fast food as the grease makes me sick, but I was in a time crunch and wanted something to eat immediately. The 1 time I decided to just go here was very bad. I'm not even talking about the food I'm talking about the service. This McDonalds is not a "fast food" service it's a wait 30 mins to even be acknowledged and be served type of service. Now I went at night when there were less customers and I didn't go through drive thru because there were like 2-3 cars in the line and usually if you go in you get your food faster (in my opinion). Well I went to put in my order on the electronic kiosk inside and got my receipt then began waiting. I was ignored for 20 mins and I even put my keys on the counter to make noise to let someone know I was inside. I heard bunch of laughing and talking by two employees in the back and so I started jingling my keys again whilst still waiting... finally a male employee came over and was like "how did you get in...?" I said "the door?" He proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't have been able to come in this late. My immediate response was uh ok well I'm here now so let's just get this moving along...Anyways he gave me my order of french fries after an additional 10 minutes because apparently they turned off the fryer? Mind you this was like 11PM and they didn't close until 12AM. Odd...I just felt like the employee made me feel awkward and stupid like I should have known the door was locked after a certain time. The McDonald's in Reading and Lancaster are not like that you can still go in at 11PM. Also when I was there, there was a whole family sitting there eating so I'm not sure why he treated me like that.. As for the French fries they were not really seasoned and just tasted like regular store bought frozen French fries that I could've made myself if I had the time. McDonalds French fries used to be really crispy and salty. They taste like bland potato sticks now, not sure what happened over the years unless it's just this Ephrata location that screws up French fries. Do not go to McDonald's. One order wrong twice! Ordered at the drive through window. They got the order wrong. I tried to correct the order at the speaker and at the cashier. The cashier gave me a lot of bad attitude. I got the sandwich they posted, not the sandwich I was told I was getting. I parked and went to the doors. A manager got me a replacement sandwich. Which was, again, the wrong one. read more

Orders are often incorrect, and food takes forever everytime I head through the drive thru. By forever, I mean 7-10 minutes at the quickest. The McDonald's at 322 & 222 on the other side of Ephrata is faster. I downloaded this app, created a login, and left this review while waiting in the drive-thru for my food after already waiting through 1.5 songs on the radio. There's a positive review mentioning a McDonald's in the "New" Ephrata. That's not this one, I believe she selected the one closer to 222 that is faster. SLOWEST MCDONALDS EVER!!! The drive through line is horrible I've waited anywhere from 10 minutes all the way up to almost 30 minutes! Almost any time you go to this McDonald's expect a long line and even if there isn't a long line don't let that fool you you'll still have to wait forever to get your food. Also make sure to check your bag before you leave because usually something is missing and if you order a sweet tea make sure to take a sip before you leave there is a 50/50 chance the tea will actually be drinkable. read more

I went thru the drive last night like 9:30pm the lady that took my order was very rude and rushy. When I pulled up to the first window I heard screaming. Stopped in here this morning for breakfast sandwiches and the floors were damp I assume from the heat and humidity we have had in the last few days. The wet floor signs were out but I think floor mats would have been better it was treacherous to walk. The sandwiches we received were disappointing. Sloppy , eggs not quite cooked falling out of muffin, sausage warm and oddly bearly cooked.2 of 4 muffins were split nearly in half making a very sloppy experience. Customer service could use some improvements. I ordered 2 hashbrowns and a biscuit. I received 1 hashbrown and a biscuit.. I came back an hour later after driving to another town to take give my friend a ride back to her home. I came back to McDonalds and presented the manager a receipt and asked them to compensate me for the hashbrown. He refused because I "didn't call them". Even after explaining I was driving the whole time (roughly one hour) to the next town and back. I just wanted them to make it right to me and get refused for basically no reason. This "fast" food restaurant wasn't so fast the other night. My wife and I pulled into the drive-thru at 10:16PM and did not get out of the lane until 10:38PM. We should have just went inside and demanded a refund. So, I get to the second window and I am not greeted by anyone for at least 5 minutes. The window is wide open and I can see and hear chaos inside. Eventually, some guy comes to the window. His facial hair was completely overgrown and it definitely did not look like he should be working around anyone's food. He does not say "hello" or even greet me in any way. He simply demands, "give me your receipt". I fumble through my car to find the tiny piece of paper. I give him my receipt. Instantly, I realized they had cleared my order out of the system and could not remember what I had purchased. Minutes later, as in 10 minutes later, I receive a crinkled bag with my order of 2 McChickens and a Large Fry. Previously, I had specified the one chicken sandwich to have pickles. It was on the receipt as well! When I got home, I realized it had no pickles and looked like someone punched it flat (depicted in the picture). Since when did McDonald's become a boxing match? I received no apology whatsoever for my 22 minute wait. Absolute WORST service I've ever received anywhere. Period. I will not be giving up any more time or money here ever again. Look, I get it's only fast food.... But you're taking my money and time here. We took our son here and the place was a mess. They were not busy. The Food came out cold and old, I took back the French Fries and the Manager on Duty said she will bring me back fresh Fries. She did, but continued to serve the old/cold fries to the drive through. The Sandwiches were cold, I was afraid to return them because I can't see them making new sandwiches. The soda fountain and Ketchup area was disgusting, old ketchup spilled, tops to the cups were all over, no napkins in the dispenser. When I asked for napkins, they never refilled the suspenders. While we were eating, employees were standing around, not cleaning or refilling. The Manager on Duty was going out for a cig break and as she was going out, she was talking to someone about her "baby daddy. " (her words). Very unprofessional for a manager. One of the hands down worst Mcdonalds, ever. The workers on the later day shift clearly hate their jobs, they mess with customers in the driv thru. My co worker went yesturday simply for a soda, a customer who had cut in front of her with a car put in her order then refused to move up with plenty of room, so my co worker couldn't put an order in. So Mcdonalds being the idiots they are the worker on the window proceeded to say I cannot hear you to take your order, they refused to ask the other customer to move up finally my co worker said a few swears in jest not directed toward anyone but the situation after getting the window workers laughing and attitude, more or less there is nothing I can do because she will not move up. The window worker heard that but couldn't hear her order for a large coke please? So then a man got on the speaker and yelled at my co worker, I heard the whole exchange. How is it this window worker could hear my co worker talking yet couldn't get her order? They play games, they are very anti anyone who is not white as my friend is asian. Last time they even put a napkin in the bottom of her soda? She sent photos and proof of everything they never so much as contacted her back? This location should be shut down, worst ever Mcdonalds 20 minutes wait and she got nothing in the end but attitude and abuse from white staff. Slowest McDonald's ever!!! I waited 25 minutes for a small fry and small strawberry banana smoothie. While everyone who had ordered AFTER me received their food, I stood there watching to see if they were even beginning my order. The drive through is just as slow! If there wouldn't be one down by Walmart I would spend the money and time to drive over to Lititz, just to avoid this one. Don't waist your time here, go to a different one. I would give it a zero if that was an obtain. By far one of the worst ones I've ever stopped at. Went through the drive through. Pulled up with two cars ahead of me at the order station. No customers in the store at all. It took just over 12 minutes to get to place my order. Ordered 2 triple cheeseburgers no onion (i told the person taking my order that I'm allergic to onions) and no bun. I waited at the pickup window just under 11 minutes for my order. Now mind you that there were zero customers inside the store this entire time I was in line. I pull into one of the parking spots to quick eat my burgers. Open up the container and first bite is full of onions. They didn't put any on top. They layered a ton of onion under the top two patties on each burger so you could not see them. I was so pissed at this point I just tossed them and left. If I would of went inside. I might of ended up in jail for my actions. This is the last time I will ever visit this location. NEVER again will I go to this McDonalds. This past week I was there, there was a manager woman with blond/greyish hair yelling at the employees. Now, they were awful- but to yell at them at lunchtime was uncalled for. It took 5 minutes to get to the counter to order- and I was behind one person. It took another 4 minutes to get my food. It was ok, but come on. It was another McDonalds that seemed more interested in getting the drive thru their food before the inside. To top this horrid experience off- at lunch- noon ish- they sent an employee out to wash the floor with a large machine. The place was crowded and all the tables were full of people eating and they WASHED the floor. All I can say is bad managment.
