While traveling along highway 13 in the Eastern Shore I ran across a lot of McDonalds, so many it seemed like every few miles. With few choices other than chain I expected the worse, after all they don't have the best reputation these days. As I entered the town of Exmore it was finally time to take a gamble. The current overall rating is sub par, but only one recent activity in 90 days. The lot and walk up clean which is a great start. First order of business the men's room which was clear of debris with everything functional. The issue is the need to renovate. The toilet bowl was pretty disgusting with rust stains. The dining room was typical dated type McDonald's with no fancy technology of flat screens, or game machines at the tables. However, the space was clean! All tables empty were clear and wiped down, trash containers were within their boundaries. They also had a nice touch of napkins and straws on each table. Myself and two guest ordered shakes, nuggets, quarter pounder and fries. The cashier was a bit slow, but got the job done and repeated for accuracy which is excellent! The order of food was ready in less than 7 minutes. It was put on the tray nicely and correct. The shakes followed within a minute of the food and was handed over by the manager. The running joke is McDonald's shake machines are always broken. It was awesome to see they were functional. The drink and condiment area was clean. The food was hot and tasted good. Am I dreaming or what, this has not been typical McDonald's experience and was refreshing. So to wrap up this store was a solid chain choice for my family. With only one visit I can't say if they are consistent, but today was very good overall. 3.5, rounding down. A renovation of at least restrooms would be great! read more

Another horrific experience coming here. Made me wait 20 minutes for a 10 piece meal, gave me only 8 nuggets, forgot the straw, and gave the wrong sauce. I tried the new Jalapeños, Bacon with Cheese Single Quarter Pounder and it was delicious! It came out hot, and the bacon was crispy, and the jalapeños gave a nice little punch of flavor! My fries were hot, too! The cashier at the drive-thru was very friendly, mannerly and helpful from making sure I got my app bonus fries to my Buffalo hot sauce. This was last night, shortly after 10 pm, so two thumbs up to the drive- thru service and the young man running it! read more

Ok before you doubt the rating this is for one reason : service. A lot of places, especially fast food, don't have enough staff and/or they just don't care. We ordered on the app as we pulled into the parking lot. By the time we walked in the door and washed our hands they were calling our name. This was all during lunchtime. Well done folks read more

I went Mcdonalds after work tonight around 9:15 pm. Girl at the window was very nice. As for my food, I hardly got any fries and they were cold. My quarter pounder was cold also. I was tried when i got home and was very disappointed. I even had to wait a while for my food. i understand it was late, but wasnt expecting to get cold food. I am not one to compain. I think they could do much better then that! I wont be going there for awhile. I spent over $9.00 for nothing. read more

I have yet to eat at this McDonald's, and my order be correct. On top of messing up my orders MULTIPLE times, the female in the drive thru has been very rude and has had an attitude every time I've came through. Tonight my boyfriend went to get a quick dinner and along with being rude to him, they didn't give him the iced coffee he ordered, when he reminded them about it, they then gave him a hot coffee. My burger came with the sauces very much overflowing and so much lettuce I couldn't even eat it until I scraped some of it off. Below is a picture of what was underneath my burger when I picked it up out of the box. Definitely needs to improve because we are not ones to complain but this place has had awful customer and never gets our order right. It's your job, and the food going in our bodies. Do better. Avoid this McDonald's. Chocolate shake machine broken. Ordered a quarter pounder with cheese deluxe was given none of the vegetables I paid for. Also ordered two plain double cheeseburgers but they gave us burgers with no cheese. Staffing appropriately appears to be a major issue at this restaurant which is causing a low quality experience. read more

The speaker on the drive thru is always broken, the wait is at least 15 minutes for food, on the drive thru, the menus outside are never showing the correct menu for the time, example: breakfast menu at 9:30pm. Always understaffed, and from what I hear they don't pay much, and charge the employees for their uniforms, AND their meals!! By the time they get their paycheck it's nothing!! I used to be a manager for McDonalds in another state and I think that's appalling. That being said, I think the staff is warm, friendly, and once they get used to seeing you even joke with you. It's very small town comfortable, which is something I find pleasant. However, I have noticed that the staff is always tired, probably because they are understaffed, and if the pay is that low, and the deductions are as high as I hear, there's no wonder. I stopped in here last Sunday with my family while traveling back home to NYC. The staff seemed nice and pleasant. It was like 11:30 am and so it was packed with some travelers and some regulars. The people behind the counter took the time to chat with my brother while he ordered and waited on our food. My teenage niece and I checked out the restroom and it wasn't give me disinfectant for my shoes dirty but it wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Also there was an issue with the flushing mechanism on the toilet and so it took me a few minutes to get it to flush. The food itself was standard Mickey D's fare and I have no complaints. We didn't wait long for our food, the dining room itself was clean and we'll probably stop here on our way again. read more

I'll make this short and sweet. The experience was exactly how it's supposed to be. I stopped in here on the way to Philly and made my order at the drive through. There were 2 cars in front of me and I was probably in line 3 minutes tops. Basically I sat for a minute for a minute after I ordered, and another minute or two after I paid. This is the McDonalds I frequent on the Shore. There are several people who seem MUCH more polite than the McDonalds in Cape Charles. I don't know if it's because of management or what, but they are fantastic. The food is what you expect from a McDonalds, but if you're really polite while ordering, there's several workers who go out of their way to make your experience better. One girl felt my bag before giving it to me and said that my fries weren't fresh enough and made a fresh batch just for me. I didn't ask, I was simply polite. This is a common thing here, and they're quite consistent about it. Overall, the place is very clean and I can't find anything to say about the place save for one thing. I think they need a new latte/ice machine. It's somewhat unpleasant to be around. read more

Went in store on road trip. Store not busy at all. 8 employees working. I sat at register for 6 minutes while the manager walked by me 4 times not saying a word. 4 people behind me just looking like hello. These people are not no hurry to help you. Not fast food. read more

This McDonald's served me the best Southwestern salad that I have ever eaten at any McDonald's anywhere... and I have ordered this particular salad in many different locations and states. The grilled chicken was so tender and cooked perfectly. Great job guys... 5 stars! read more

The menu is exactly the same and never changes. After a week of eating there, I'm bored. Food isn't great either and our orders always are wrong. Every time we bring it to their attention they have an attitude or try to say we ate/drank it even though we NEVER got it. read more

Bathrooms were fine. The lady up front was older and looked exhausted but did a great job getting order right and deserves a break after all the hard work. They got the order right which is something you don't always see at McDonald's. The meal was great! I had a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a biscuit as well as my family.
