Can we go ahead and sign a petition to have this location shut down!? I visited this location one morning around 7. Cars were in the parking lot (workers) and I drive to the speaker-nothing. Drove to the window and see a guy trying to hide. He then signals for me to leave saying go away we're closed. Sign says they open at 5 a.m. Today really took the cake for me seeing workers in the parking lot smoking and having a good time while 8 cars sat in line (behind the speaker) for 10 minutes plus. I've been stuck in the drive-thru for 25+ minutes. One drive thru was blocked off and the lady kept speaking through that speaker. After I waited 20 minutes, I find out their iced coffee machine (why do you need a machine?) is broken. First the ice cream machine, now the coffee machine? The lady was super rude and not knowledgeable about anything. The guy at the window asked what I had and I told him a number 5, he responded with "what's that?" I hope these idiotic, lazy "workers" are not making anything above minimum wage because they do NOT deserve it. I definitely won't be returning to this McDonalds. Instead of assuming what a person says, teach your workers to clarify before causing an inconvenience out of a customers day. I'm hungry. I told the boy what I wanted at the speaker. No questions. It seemed he understood. I get to the window and he calls out an order that isn't mine, I repeat my order, he let's me know he hit the wrong button and that it's been fixed. I repeat it one more time to clarify (Now my 3rd time repeating myself). Get my food, go home, and my burger is completely wrong. I also asked for a Coke as my drink and ended up with Sweet Tea? I will say, the young girl that helped me at the second window was super sweet, but the boy at the first window should find a new job cause the food industry is clearly not for him. How hard is it to make a double cheeseburger plain. I ordered a plain double cheeseburger, I paid, I asked the gentleman you sure that double cheeseburger is plain and h said yes. I live minutes from here and have 2 kids so it's always a popular option for quick dinners etc. however the years have been cruel on this location with service abysmal, food consistently cold and stale, the slowest and most uncaring drive thru around, and never a management employee in sight. This McDonald's location is the worst I have ever been to. We ordered curbside and sat waiting for 40 minutes. The drive through line was moving slowly as usual but we were still sitting waiting as multiple lines worth of cars came and went. Eventually we had to go in to see what was going on. We were in a pinch trying to find food for my boys in between sports. The only option on the drive was this McDonalds. I haven't been to a McDonalds in years so if this is what they are all like, I'm glad I've avoided them for so long. I pulled into the drive thru. There was no one in line. All I could hear on the speaker was crackling. I tried for a minute or two to get someone but no one was there. So, I drove forward to the window assuming the speaker was just broken. There was no one at either window. I thought they must be closed but it was a Tuesday afternoon at 5 so that didn't make sense. I didn't have time to keep waiting so I drove around and saw the workers outside at a table, eating and smoking in front of the restaurant. One of them had the headset on. They looked at me and just looked away. They definitely didn't care. Please just go into the Publix next door and get better food and service. Avoid this place at all costs. I don't know what happened, but when I pulled up to the speaker on March 26th, I ended up sitting there waiting with no answer. I drove around to find the woman leaning out of the drive thru window with a headset on, laughing and talking to the person sitting in the car at the window. I waited for almost two minutes hoping she'd acknowledge that maybe the speaker was down or something was wrong. NOPE! When I finally waived at her, she waved me off. Then went back to talking. I called the following Monday. Customerservice said someone would call me back within the next day or so. NOPE! So I waited a week and emailed the main office. Again, I was told I'd hear from the franchise manager. It's been 2 weeks today and still no one has contacted me. It was 8:39 PM. Hardly time to close. Tl;dr: hot, fast, good service, recommended As far as McDonald's are concerned, and comparable fast food chains, this is the best McDonald's in Gastonia. I've visited about 15 times in the past year and the order has always been consistent, the food always hot, and the service always good. I have visited at peak times as well as slow.
