Almost went back to get a few to take home and am now regretting not doing that. Will now be stopping any time I'm near by for that alone. My mother lives nearby so this has become my go to shop on visits up. It just doesn't feel complete without a visit. On my first visit I ordered the Bad Wolf, simply Brevard it was the weirdest thing on the menu. Highly recommend this method of choosing. I had the surprise of my life this morning at Catawba Coffee company. A man and his wife/girlfriend walked in, two vets in the corner immediately said, out loud, to where everyone could hear, "They walked into the WRONG coffee shop." The employee behind the counter was rude to this couple, as well. The guy appeared to be white and the woman with him looked Hispanic. Not only was the service incredibly friendly and the dry cappuccino perfectly executed, this coffee shop feels like home the minute you walk in. We found this place on Google when we were wanting a local coffee shop on our way to the Charlotte airport. I had a super busy day and a lot on my mind and didn't realize that I had left my backpack at Catawba Coffee. One of the employees found me on Facebook and messaged me but because of my schedule there was no way I could go back immediately. The owner herself met me at the coffee shop at 8:30 at night to open it up and make sure I got my belonging. Incredible! Stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop this summer and couldn't get enough. I went back the next day. Super friendly staff and great playlists. The coffee is great and they have a lot of different/fun options. The pastries are fabulous as well. It is next to the train tracks and a decently busy intersection so the volume can get up there sometimes. But there's tons of FREE parking to the side of the building, which is a luxury these days. I love to get a coffee and muffin and head to the couches to read a book. Highly recommend if you're trying to get out of the city. read more

I lucked out and got a parking spot on the street, there was no line and just two sweet gals working the counter! My vanilla latte was a bit sweeter than I expected. I was so very disappointed in this spot. We ordered two seasonal lattes and the prices were fair. But, the milk was so overstretched on both that I thought that they were cappuccinos. So they also tasted super sweet because there was barely any milk to support the amount of syrup. But my major issue with the place was the bathroom. It was filthy! The barista girls were giving me the ~Thousand Yard Stare~ when it came to ordering and I couldn't really tell if it was because they were like nervous or they disliked me or they just had nothing to say. The proprietor was very friendly, service was quick, prices were fair and both our coffee drinks (which were a creative and expansive offering) and their baked goods hit the spot. Their blueberry muffin was packed with fruit while their cinnamon roll was deliciously sticky. The decor is fun, relaxed, somewhere between reading room and relaxing lounge, with an assortment of local artist items for sale and a large bookshelf full of free books for the reading. I stopped in here after taking a walk on a greenway close by that connects to the town of Mount Holly. It was a hot day so I was looking for something cold on this particular day. The lady who took my order was helpful and friendly and I asked if the Nutella Mocha drink was good frozen and she said it was great to have it that way. I tried it and it was amazing! Had a great taste, was refreshing and truly tasted like Nutella too. The shop itself is warm and inviting, with a side room you can sit in and play games. There are also tables throughout the main area to hang out or work. Loved this place and would definitely return the next time I'm in the area. read more
