Coming from a place like Las Vegas, which has so many great options for "slow bar" single origin coffee, we are always a little worried how our small town vacation destinations will stack up. This coffee spot fulfilled our every need during our week stay in Belmont! They have multiple single origin coffee options that can be prepared as a pour over, aero press, French press, or siphon! We tried all of them over the course of the week from the Ethiopian, Mexican, and Honduran beans. Even their drip and iced coffee measures up. One slight demerit for there being some grounds in the drip. The coffee cake is also moist and delicious! The male barista with the red hair was so friendly and accommodating the entire week as we entered each late morning. Plenty of seating out front, within the coffee bar area, and out back. read more

I went in because I wanted to check out a local coffee spot. This is my second time there but this time I ordered food and a drink. I was able to park on the street there is a lot to park in as well. It's accessible. Easy to order even when busy which it was when I went. Staff was friendly. I was able to get the chai frappe without the espresso. I ordered a sandwich that was turkey, cheese, and egg. Both were really good and something I would order again. I am looking forward to when it warms up to come back more often. I plan to try some different items on the menu. It is located not far from a park. A nice spot to grab coffee, tea, or a sandwich and just relax. read more

I was in town for a quick visit & stopped in for a Cortado. The gal had no idea what I was talking about. I asked about the bold roast, she said "what's that'? I didn't want to ask anymore questions & said just give me the drip. The place is bright & clean. Street parking available. I hope they make it! read more

Stopped in to burn some time after leaving Nellie's and so glad I did. Had an iced honey caramel latte and it was really good! Nice spot with great ambiance and welcoming staff. Free WiFi, plenty of seating and lots of options. Highly recommend. read more

I can't recommend Waterbean enough for its coffee, gluten-free treats, and overall ambiance! Initially, I thought it might just be another chain coffee shop, but I was so pleasantly surprised. Located right across from Nellie's in downtown Belmont, there's plenty of parking, both on the street and behind the building. When you step inside, the space is gorgeous- stylish yet welcoming, whether you're there to relax with friends or knock out some work solo. There's even a piano in the corner, and we got to watch a few guests play, which added a nice touch. I tried an iced sugar-free almond milk latte, and my friend went with one of their seasonal specialties. What really blew me away, though, was the selection of gluten-free pastries! The barista told me their pastry chef is gluten-free, so there were a lot of options- muffins, banana bread, and cookies. I went for the GF cinnamon crunch muffin, and it was absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with my coffee. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by! My friend and I already decided it's our new go-to spot for coffee dates. We visited Waterbean in Gastonia and sadly our experience in Belmont was night and day. Gastonia was friendly, attentive. Took their time and you can see their pleasure to serve you and attend to your needs. In Belmont, I was told I couldn't order just eggs , after explaining we had just done so at Gastonia location - the girl said fine! I explained to her that it was due to dietary restrictions so she could understand the reasoning for our only egg order. I completed my order and went outside to sit since we had brought our puppies with us. When my husband went in to check on our order, he heard the same girl who took our order saying to the kitchen staff why would you order just eggs. He proceeded to ask for our order took it out and the order was prepared completely different than Gastonia's preparation. I had ordered my tea , it was prepared iced versus hot. To be fair it wasn't asked at time of ordering and I didn't clarify. When we communicated it , they were kind to swap it out for hot but it was not steeped prior to being served for us. Where in Gastonia , they took their time to steep it prior to serving me. This felt much more like a fast food kind of experience versus the very intentional serving experience we had at the Gastonia location. read more

Great service. I was immediately greeted when I entered the door. They have seasonal drinks towards the left of the cash register and I opted for a gingerbread latte. Also got two macarons. Latte was delicious. They brought it to me when I found a place to sit down. Really quiet place. Good to bring your laptop in as they provide WiFi. A lot of patrons had their WiFi or were reading a book. They also provide waters (self-serve). I would come back. read more

An adorable coffeehouse with a happy and helpful staff. The espresso they use is delicious, with a remarkably smooth flavor when mixed with milk in a cappuccino or latte. The ambience is an upscale casual. It's a great place to people watch - or to study (with noise canceling headphones ). read more

Caffe had cute ambience but the latte was subpar. It was weak and had grounds floating in it. It tasted just like the oat milk lattes from Dunkin' Donuts, but I paid $7 for it. Kinda ridiculous. They stay true to their name! Watered down with lots of visible beans. read more

I used to frequent the Waterbean locations in Lake Norman (Huntersville and Cornelius) and was excited to have one open up in Belmont. Upon entering, I noticed the decor was very nicely done, with a beautiful grand piano at the entrance, however we weren't greeted. The ordering counter is right by the front door, so it wasn't that no one saw us. A staff member kind of stretched and had an "alright, here I come," attitude. He stood in front of us and stared as my husband and I tried to decide on what to order. I asked some questions on some of their featured drinks and he answered as plainly as possible. In the end I was given the wrong drink and my husband was given a cold brew with no added flavor or sweetener, which was our error as we didn't know cold brew would literally be black coffee on ice. We weren't told otherwise or offered any sweetener, cream, or flavor either, though. It felt as though they either expected well seasoned visitors who knew their drink menu down pat, or at least someone who would require the least assistance possible. Conversation was definitely not encouraged. I will add, whichever drink I was mistakenly given though, was good. read more

Stoped by with my wife to try out the coffee and what a great surprise. The inside has a high end vibe coffee shop in Manhattan. The decoration and staff is superb. The coffee had an amazing taste. They have expresso flights and siphon flights. Will have to try next time. My wife tried the paradise foam iced coffee which was super good and I had the snickerdoodle foam with 1 pump not 2 and it was awesome. They do everything a la carte. Finally a good coffee shop in Belmont that meets my high standards. read more
