I waited at the counter for around 10 minutes, and after some time someone walked up to me and told me to use the kiosk. Since I have Tourette's syndrome, I dislike using the kiosk as its hard to press the buttons sometimes. So I asked to order at the counter. The woman at the counter told me to "say what" after I tried to order. I was confused and after ordering a second time, she put my order in. 10 to 15 minutes later, I saw my food coming out. The burger was missing a patty and they gave me the wrong size fries. I walked outside and a homeless man came up to me and asked for my burger. I handed it to him and after a bite he said he no longer wanted it and I could have it back. Never coming back, worst fast food experience of my life. Not even fit for the homeless! read more

Always horrible service! I don't think the owners even care anymore. Every time I go there, it's bad food or bad service Or both. Recently I got there in time for breakfast, but the manager said NO. My daughter likes oatmeal, but he also said NO. I guess hot water was just too complicated. Another day I left without my food. No meat on a Big Mac, no nugget sauce. On and on. I go through the drive-through at this McDonalds 3-5x a month. Sometimes in the early a.m. and sometimes on the way home from work. I see lots of reviews that customers orders are wrong, but that has not been my experience. I always order my burger without mustard and most every time it comes like I ordered. Occasionally they try to forget my sweet-and-sour sauce, but if I ask for it, they give it to me. So, maybe they're not always super friendly, but I guess, I'm not expecting them to be. This place should be studied by scientists as proof that rock bottom has a basement. My food looked like it had survived both a microwave explosion and a wrestling match. The fries could double as construction nails, the burger was a sad, gray sponge, and the soda tasted like it was siphoned out of a car battery. The floor was so greasy I nearly invented a new Olympic sport just trying to walk to my table. The bathroom? Let's just say I saw things I can't unsee. If despair had a drive-thru, this would be it. One star, only because Yelp refuses to let me give negative numbers. This McDonald's is where hope goes to die. I've seen gas station hot dogs with more dignity than the 'food' I was served here. The fries were fossilized sticks of salt, the burger looked like it had been stepped on twice, and the nuggets tasted like mystery foam dipped in regret. The soda was so flat I thought the machine was pouring dirty sink water. The place reeked of wet cardboard and despair, the tables were sticky enough to glue a toddler in place, and the bathroom felt like a horror movie set. Unfortunately the ice cream machine isn't usually working. The employees have gotten nicer. I love it when the fries are crispy. I love the strawberry banana smoothies and my son loves the blue raspberry slushies. read more

Today this location is only accepting exact change or a card....why? When they are out of something (i.e. cookies, tea) they won't make anymore, they just tell you they're out for the day. Coke never tastes like coke. No customer service skills whatsoever and the food is just thrown together like they're having a food fight. I have lived in Helena for 17 years and this McDonalds has to be one of the worst locations I have ever been to. I try every two months or so to try them again. But tonight I can't get a simple burger and large fries that taste right. The fries are rubber and the burgers are soggy. I am so sick of giving these guys a chance. I'm done for good now. This particular McDonalds has more problems than a normal person can count! First...they never have enough help so drive-thru is always messed up. Instead of running a two window system they make due with one...very inefficient. Next...they are always "out" of basic items...like soft drink flavors...milk shakes and ice cream sundaes! Who is doing inventory? Who is scheduling employees? It appears they have a management problem! So setting the very slow service and the inability to order what you want aside...I guess you'd end up with a regular McDonalds!! Lol read more

DANGER!! Do not go to this McDonalds for any reason. We found 2 sheet metal screws in my daughters drink. Management reviewed the security footage and saw an employee serving the cup containing the screws to my daughter. It is either criminally negligent, or the employee had intent to hurt someone. I advise everyone do not go here. If my daughter had swallowed one of these screws it would have killed her. Tell everyone! read more

I hate to even submit a review to a McDonald's, since it seems that people have a definite love/hate relationship with the place. Love the fries/hate the squirrel mix added to them to give them that great flavor... so I'll keep it brief... Regarding this location: Pros: - Drive-thru open 24 hours; so even when Tacos Tacos Tacos Tacos (i.e., Taco Bell - but tell me you got that reference...) finally closes, poor souls that find themselves in the after-10-pm ghost town called Helena will still be able to secure a bite that will mostly likely haunt them the next day. - Your kids love this stuff, so at least they'll stop the belly-aching once you drive up. Cons: - The drive-thru speaker has been non-operational for at least a couple of weeks, as of this review. So expect slower lines (work-commute mornings, especially) due to having to give your order to "person at window #1". - Your kids love this stuff, but you probably don't. The sacrifices of parenting... My verdict - 3 stars. It's provided me with a good (read, hot and fully-cooked) breakfast on a number of occasions, but it's still McDonald's and fast food, so that's all I can muster. read more

Go to drive thru order food. Get to next window the girl says what drink did you order. Get bag pull up bc so many cars are in line. No fries (3). Go inside get fries, get home, no bacon on my sandwich. Call & no answer as usual. Call back Gabriela answers & I tell her there is no bacon on my sandwich. She said she can't give me my money back or another sandwich unless I bring the sandwich & receipt back. They always get your order wrong. read more

Even-though I still have not been to a McDonalds since my review, J.B. did reach out to me and apologized for the service that I had received at the restaurant he just purchased and explained that he was making changes (I drove by there last night and this was evident that changes were being made) and I felt it was very sincere. I saw he was also hiring some new employees and I also saw that the drive through monitor was also up and running and the grounds looked to be very clean. Good service is very hard to find these days...but finding an owner willing to stick his neck out and accept responsibility for the absolute worst service and trying to right a wrong is commendable in my book. read more

This McDonald's is disappointing. Each time we have visited, it seems to be worse. When we dropped by a couple of weeks ago, the man in front of us was told they were out of medium cups. When asked if they would give him a large for the price of a medium he was told "no". At the point he decided to place and pay for his order, he was informed they had no ice. We left before ordering after listening to this order and having stood in a really long line for some time waiting to order. Used to really going to this McDonalds because it was really close by my house. Tonight I just got the worst customer service I think I've ever had there. I order a 20 piece nugget, but I guess somewhere along the line there was a miscommunication and I got rang up a 6 piece nugget instead. So when I got to the second window the worker asked what my order was and I told him that I order a 20piece. He told me that I didn't and I over heard one of the other workers complaining about how I didn't order a 20 piece from the drive thru window. So I followed up and asked if I could just pay for a 20 piece if I needed to. The guy told me no which I could've understand if I was being rude, but I always try to be understanding of the workers and things happen, but I do not appreciate how I was talked to at all and denied service even when I asked to pay again for something that I already should've paid for. Went through the drive thru this week. Ordered two chicken sandwiches, three Happy meal and a Quarter Pounder meal. I didn't notice until they gave me my order that they left out the chicken sandwiches and they were not identified on the receipt. I brought it to the attention of person at the window. They responded by telling me that the drive thru was backing up and I would have to go through the drive again or come inside and order. The drive thru line was extremely long and it looked busy inside. I didn't want our other food to get cold waiting on the chicken sandwiches, so I just left. @McDonalds, the right thing to do was have me park and bring me the sandwiches. I would have gladly settled the difference. We'll go elsewhere from now on. read more
