I have been to lots of McDonald's but I have never received the level of service that I received here. Because this is on the way to a lot of high country ski resorts and on Christmas Day the line was long. You wouldn't know that as the speed the moved was incredibly fast. The order taker was clear and professional and took our order very rapidly. When I rolled up to the pay window the cashier already had the credit card machine at the ready. We received our order and were back on our way in minutes. This particular McDonald's should be used as a standard for service. If they did that they would always be on TOP. Idaho Springs McDonalds is always a sure bet! Sharing a location with a gas station, I always feel like I'm at one of those east coast truck stops with all the restaurants combined. These food has always been fine and fresh, and I sure love using the app to get cheap bites on the road. This location is even easier than Dillion, and you can jump on and off the highway really fast. Idaho Springs is a blast too, and this is a nice amenity when the tourists are packing all the other restaurants during peeping season. Or after a hike and beer! We had breakfast here yesterday and we used the kiosk. The system worked well and the delivery of our food to the table was quick. The restaurant dining area was clean and quiet. I made 3 attempts to drive around and I could see people were working. Finally got their attention and they said they were closed. Asked to speak with the manager since we had already paid for the order and he was super rude to us, said we were not there at 11:45, but we were. I've been here 2 times and they've messed my order up both times. I ordered 2 double cheeseburgers and BOTH of them had only one Pattie, and 2 slices of cheese like they were trying to fool me or genuinely didn't know the right proporations, either way not good. then today I went back and they missed a medium fry on my order. poor customer service. I actually tried to cancel the 2nd order of fries I had ordered by accident (which was the item they forgot conveniently) and they told me they couldn't fix it because I ordered on the app. both times bad experiences. wont be going back. all the locals know this place is in chronic need of more capable employees. read more

Stopped by twice on our trip to Grand Junction. Haven't had McDonald's in ages so it was a change. Both times the filet o fish sandwich wasn't assembled properly with lots of bread on one side and no taste. Skimpy on tartar sauce as well. Just wasn't as good. The fries were yummy. They have some of the best fries. On the way back I had to get some salt as no salt on our fries at all. He got burgers both times just different types. I think this satisfies my McDonald's craving for a while. Parking can be busy. Be careful as there's a drive through and it's attached to a gas station as well. So lots of vehicles coming and going. Soggy fries, awful service, and extremely long wait....oh my! Stopped here on the way up to the mountains and was pretty disappointed. They were unable to process/understand how the app deals worked (which are accepted at most, if not all, McDonalds). Once I finally was able to get my order in, the fries were 3/4 full and soggy, the burger was clearly sitting out for a long time before being served, and the staff was overall not accommodating/friendly. Worst service I have ever received from a McDonalds. The person at the window kept messing up the order and there was a lot of back and forth correcting it. Even at the window she was repeating back things I never said or ordered. Then either the manager or supervisor acted frustrated with me saying "I"was taking too long and they shouldn't be spending that much time with customers. Once we got to the 2nd window there was an item missing from my order, they added it right away no problem but I'll never return to this place again. After the Subway across the street made me nauseous before even taking a bite of my sandwich, this was only a slight improvement. I ordered fries and nuggets (you already know what they look like). Ate the fries but only took one bite of the nuggets. Just not an MCD guy. I should have known better than to eat on this block, which also contains a 6&40 Motel. I had never heard of this establishment, and I still don't know what it means. Possibilities: * Stay six hours and live with fleas for 40 nights * $6.40 per night * Six rooms and 40 beds I don't know. For all I know, it could look like The Four Seasons on the inside, so don't judge based on my review. If I'm going the subjective route on Idaho Springs as a whole, it might be the armpit of Colorado. As far as McDonald's goes, I would not recommend. I work in the medical field at the local clinic and I drive from Idaho Springs to Confer to get home. I stopped by Idaho Springs McDonalds and bought a spicey chicken sandwich, large fries and a large coke. I got halfway home and opened my chicken sandwich and bit into a band-aid that was left in my sandwich. I immediately stopped my truck to pull over and take a photo of the band-aid that was left in the sandwich. I turned around and drove back to the McDonalds and walked in and told them I was recording them to issue a complaint about the band-aid in my chicken sandwich. The manager right off stated that nobody there had any blue band-aids and I said I do not have any cuts on my fingers so this did not come from me. He walked back and asked his workers about it and again stated nobody had any blue band-aids. And I thought to myself, who would confess such a thing even if they DID have a band-aid? The manager was very rude to me and then went to get the supervisor. The supervisor tried to pull me aside and at that point I just asked for a refund for my meal and let them know that I would report this to the local health inspector, the news and social media. Nobody at that facility wanted to take responsibility for this incident. Also, when I was walking out of McDonalds, an employee told me to leave the facility and I told him I was leaving and asked why he stopped me in the first place. I am making everyone aware of this incident and hopefully do something about it. Quick and easy stop for fast food if you're in a hurry in Idaho Springs. Probably the best McDonald's within an hour of Denver if I'm being honest. My main thing I don't like about McDonald's is the kiosk ordering system, however I have figured out how to navigate it and pay cash, as I don't use cards for daily transactions. They are very quick about taking cash, making change, helping customers. I saw a review that said you have to pay for ketchup? I have never experienced this here, sorry. It's always clean and there's a gas station attached, kind of weird ambiance but not in a bad way, and it's perfect for travelers. read more

Went through drive thru to grab breakfast before going white water rafting. We ordered with two different orders and they were so nice about it. When we pulled up to the second window to pick up our food, the employee repeated our orders and checked the bags. This was hilarious. We ordered, they asked us to pull up by the door and they would bring the food out. I did so and then proceeded to watch someone bring our food out and hand it to someone else. I flagged the employee down and then she came back and yelled at me in Spanish that I pulled into the wrong spot. We did eventually get our food but with a major side of attitude. After ordering our meal we attempted to fill our drinks, however there was water all over the floor in front of the dispensers with a bucket and mop positioned to the side. We walked through the water and tried to get ice but both ice dispensers were empty. One girl standing at the counter not doing anything acted surprised there wasn't any ice. So she took our cups and filled them with ice and continued to stand there not attempting to fill the ice dispensers or finish mopping the floor. The water on the floor and in the mop bucket was dirty and it really looked like someone dumped the mop bucket on the floor, there was that much water in it. As other reviewers have stated that this location is more expensive than other locations, but that is because Idaho Springs in a mountain town and everything is more expensive in the mountains. I went through the drive thru this time rather than going inside and the speaker was loud and clear and the employee was friendly and had my order on the screen quickly. If you drive a large vehicle, the curb at the first window can be tricky to navigate around and thankfully the employee at this window help me to avoid hitting said oddly placed curb. Overall a fast and trouble free experience. read more

This is the worst McDonalds. They constantly get orders wrong the fries are a roulette of subpar, undercooked, or old and soggy. The people working here always seems to have some sort of attitude. If you want to use the drive through expect to wait for at least 20 to 30 minutes beginning to end for your food. We were here last Sunday. The place was pretty much empty. The dining room was a disgusting mess, trash cans were overflowing. The bathrooms were worse than the dining room. I called the "owner" to report this, but really the 'phone number was corporate McDonalds. The number the said to call back Gabby at 720-512-1998 she has had a mailbox full (not able to leave messages) for over a week (and probably much longer (lazy)! How do they expect to do business? Today I got to visit Store#23780 11/10/2019 05:36 PM Order #56 I paid $23.64 at the drive threw @ 5:36pm I was given 2 sodas at the 2nd window and asked to park in lane 3 " i have 3 kids in the car and were on our way home to Aurora from Georgetown" so we have 3 fri's 30 nuggets and 2 Mcdoubles. I pull in my spot and a very angry man demanding his Money back to an employee was sitting in spot #2 he was refused a refund and told to wait... ok, i mind my own business and have my wife run our kids inside to go potty before we get back on the road. so i sit in the car and wait. fast forward it is now 5:51.... now in no McDonalds on planet earth does it take 15 mins to drop two baskets of nuggets and fries. So i go inside. Walk inside and low and behold, Manager is standing there bsing with some people behind the counter not doing his job. i tell him, i ordered my food 15 mins ago what is the issue? it takes 4 mins to drop fries. He says they had a mixup and hes sorry. I said the customer before me was pissed too, why are you standing at the counter gossiping instead of doing your job helping them catch up in the back? he states that he is sorry they had a mix up again and asked me to please go back to my car. I told him he needs to get his s*&t together and do his job in which he told me after i get my food not to come back to my McDonalds. So a few things here. 1. If this " Managers " behaviour is a example of what is acceptable by this Franchise owner then I truly feel bad for the Idaho Springs and Dupont community as well as his business. This manager should be demoted and shown how to work " AS A MANAGER" grasp the situation and Help to resolve the issue with his Store. he needs to be helping staff, not leaning on the counter barking orders at other people. he should have come to my car and apologized for the wait. 2. Stopped here for a quick snack for my kids, ordered a McFlurry and 2 apple pies to name a few. The McFlurry was all over the outside of the plastic lid, okay so maybe no big deal but they could have at least wiped it down. I checked the bag like we always do, there was 1 apple pie. I told the server (a guy with a beard that wasn't even covered) he responds "I put 2 in there!" I checked again, took everything out, even all the napkins at the bottom. Still didn't see any. He angrily replies "I'm sure I put 2 in there!" I handed him the bag and said look yourself there's only 1. He wouldn't look at the bag (because he was wrong!!!) and said "Well, I can't do anything now, you'll have to pull forward!" Like okay how about "I'm sorry about that, would you mind pulling forward?" So I'm waiting in my car unsure of how long it's going to take as our fries are getting cold. I call the number on the receipt and they said it's still baking. That would have been nice to know beforehand. The manager comes out and sees me waiting, asks the server who just stepped out for his break, he responds in an annoyed voice "she says I only gave her 1 apple pie even though I gave her 2 so she's waiting for 1 more!" It's an apple pie!!! Really? Why would I lie to get another apple pie?!?! I can afford to buy as many apple pies as I want!!! So I rolled up to the manager and told him " I checked the bag multiple times there's only 1, here take a look yourself!" As I'm trying to explain to the manager, he's walking back in and not even trying to listen to me and says "I don't care what's in the bag I just want to get your problem solved!" No apologies either??? Man these people here are rude!!! So I wait some more and someone else comes out with my pie and finally apologizes for the wait. I told him I have no problem with waiting, I do have a problem with how rude everyone else is!!! I get back to our Inn, the apple pie they just handed me was undercooked and the first apple pie they originally gave me had a sticker that said consume by 8:30am. This was at 2pm!!!!
