    Elk Stew + Bread Bowl
    Chris C.

To-go Order: Small Caesar Salad and Elk Stew in Bread Bowl. Service was definitely a focus. The greetings and interactions on the phone were the same as being welcomed at the front door, nice. Ambiance: Typical Mountain town pseudo-fancy place with indoor and outdoor seating. Open concept. Caesar Salad: 3 The Romain Lettuce was weak. Not green, vibrant, nutritious Romain... check the pic. Also, a Caesar with "balsamic glaze" is spitting on the idea of a time intensive anchovy dressing. This dressing did not taste homemade and had balsamic which effectively ruined it. Elk Stew: 3.5 The stew was hearty, thick, and quite delicious... and over salted. Potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, plenty of elk. The bread bowl was soft and tasty. It would be ideal to be a sourdough locally baked bowl, IMO. Overall, I'd try it again at some point.

This was our last stop in Idaho Springs, on our drive back to Denver Airport... The place had a very nice, lofty American Frontier ambiance. I felt that it was probably one of the, if not the finest restaurant in Idaho Springs. I loved that it was open early, with a good brunch menu. My husband had Short Ribs Benedict, and I had Chicken & Waffles...and both were really good. I will say, however, that mine would have been better if they were less soggy. For that, I have to deduct a star. Who knew that a small, quaint town like Idaho Springs would have decent restaurants like this?

Located in beautiful Idaho Springs, Co. This is an amazing town with lots of great food. This is the cream of the crop, probably the nicest and fanciest restaurant there. The prices aren't cheap but the food is great. I'd recommend this place for breakfast/brunch and dinner. The steaks here are great. The breakfast is really good too. The staff is friendly. I've been served quickly here where other restaurants around have over an hour wait. It's worth it and it's an impressive establishment.

After hiking in Georgetown, we decided to stop in Idaho Springs for breakfast. Honestly we picked it because there was no wait. The prices weren't too bad for breakfast/ brunch, and we got seated right away. The food was good. I got the classic breakfast. My only complaint is that they only had packets of creamer for coffee. For a "nicer" place, I was surprised they didn't have better options.

This is our usual stop in Idaho Springs. The food is reliably good, even though the service can be a little slow. I think they are just consistently understaffed. The cocktails are really quite good. The purple rain is my favorite. This time around we had the brussels sprouts and garden salad with shrimp. Everything was great, especially sitting outside in the patio area.

This place created such deeply satisfying experience for our group of 3 celebrating a birthday. We were prepared to spend a little more than usual in exchange for a proper good meal and this place delivered that 100%. Between the 3 of us we got two pasta entrees, a mashed potato side, bok choi side, grilled Brie, clam chowder, two desserts, SIX drinks and spent $247 after tip. Every thing we ordered was delectable; but the grilled Brie. Good lord. I felt like a royal renaissance woman being fanned with palm leaves and hand fed that ish. My boyfriend who famously doesn't like cheese was turned to the cheese side tonight. You won't be disappointed by this place, the bang is worth your buck (even though the buck is totally reasonable for what you get).

Service was quick and our waitress Keely was great. I had the Elk Stew, it was savory and delicious. I love a good thick strew so it was perfect. My husband had the ribeye with the Brussels sprouts, his steak was cooked perfect to order and the Brussels sprouts had great flavor. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. Would def recommend and would def come back if we are ever in the area.

Great restaurant stop on our way to Breckenridge! Sirloin steak was great with a loaded baked potato. Portions were large. My friend loved her wedge salad. Service was good; our server managed our table of 8 with a smile. Ambiance is contemporary casual.

The only thing I didn't like as much was the hashbrowns, they were just okay. I also ordered the jalapeño bread French toast (recommended by our server). I love jalapeño flavor, but I remember thinking it sounded kind of weird for French toast... but I'm glad I tried it because it was so good. They make their breads in-house and I would definitely get that again. I also tried some of my friend's banana bread and that was really delicious too. Didn't get a chance to try these since we had to get to the hot springs soon so thought it's too much food to finish in time, but they had a French toast flight and a Benedict flight, which I've never seen before. Pretty cool, I love anything where you can try multiple flavors. Overall, would reccomend this brunch spot in Idaho Springs. Would come back!

She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Reuben (currently $18.50) with a cup of their green chili soup ($6.00). The Reuben was outstanding--perfectly grilled with a crispy rye, flavorful corned beef, and just the right balance of Swiss, sauerkraut, and dressing. The green chili soup was rich, comforting, and packed with great Colorado flavor. My wife built her own burger and upgraded to the house salad instead of fries. Everything was fresh, cooked exactly as ordered, and delicious. This has become one of our must-stop restaurants whenever we're headed to Vail. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere every time. Highly recommended--we'll definitely be back!

CLEAR CREEK CLUB // Lightly peppered pan roasted turkey breast, shaved ham, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and mayo on sourdough bread. Admittedly, this is a very simple sandwich that anyone could assemble at home, but it's what I was in the mood for! However, the most disappointing aspect for me was the bread. They say it's sourdough, well it tasted like untoasted white bread...I was hungry, I powered through. When an average sandwich at best and a small drip coffee runs you $22, I have some room to question the quality of my experience. I'm grabbing the sandwich, bussing the table, getting the coffee, etc. Not running back here, especially since there are a few places in Idaho Springs I really enjoy going to. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, I'd be open to giving them another shot in the future!

Of their ciders we had, my favorite was the hibiscus cider and the peach cider, but they also have a good selection beers if ciders aren't your thing. But the highlight for me was their flat-iron steak, its a simple cut but it was one of the best steaks I've had in recent memory. I'm not kidding when I say it was on par if not better than a a lot of the steakhouses I've been to, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and comes with a solid chimichurri sauce. The rest of the service was pretty much the same -- apathetic. We ordered a flight of beer for the four adults at the table. It was about $30 and came with about 15 small glasses of cider, one of each flavor they served. We shared it and got to sample everything that way. I ordered the Cider Burger (medium rare) with fries as my side. It came out medium well, which instantly ruins and dries out any good burger experience. The fries were tepid as well. Lots of video poker machines if that's your thing, and a cool swag shop. The rest 2/3 of the building is more your typical independent casino. I opted for the Chocolate Stout, and it was fantastic! Unfortunately, the place today feels like a shell of what it once was. The food has always been average, which is something many customers can accept, but poor and disrespectful service is never acceptable. I brought my concerns to the owner, Lisa, hoping they would be taken seriously, but the response was disappointing and dismissive.
