This location has four of the new automated ordering stations which can streamline the order process especially during peak times. The staff out front are polite and the restaurant is keep clean. This is a well managed location. I've never had any issues here with food or orders.

Terrible food and bad customer service. This is how my Double Quarter Pounder with cheese add Bacon came, fries cold, Back cashier rude and sarcastic. Just a terrible experience.

This is the way the drink was received at the drive-thru. Does that look full to you?

You want the entire $2.18 for a Slushie, I'd like to have the full amount in my cup! Is that really too much to ask? I must say that these drinks have nowhere near the flavor that they used to have. I was happy to see them return but now that I've had a few, not so much.

It's McDonald's at this point you know what you're getting yourself into mediocre food that probably won't be what you ordered.

I got my order to go but the gentleman who took my order was kind enough to offer me a cup for some water. The spot was happening. Music, good vibes, the decor was fun. I couldn't decide which meal I was trying so I'm definitely going to make another trip sometime soon. I got the tenders with mac but added a side of greens. Boy oh boy the greens were the star and wow my tastebuds were incredibly satisfied. I've had greens but these were like some ultimate flavors and holy greens i definitely could just order some of these every now and again by themselves. Mac was great. Definitely complimented the greens. The tenders though omg. The flavor was insane. I gotta try them with the waffles next time for sure. Overall the wait wasn't long and my food was still hot. I ended up sharing with my son and he was even raving about it. Great service, fun and lit atmosphere, last but not least food was fire. Side note: people complain about price but I'll be honest, when the food is good and staff are amazing, the price to me doesn't matter. You get what you pay for and let's be real, this isn't chic fil a, this is hot boys and the chicken is definitely that.

The…read moreother four people I was with got "medium" and "medium plus" (they are hot sauce / heat lovers) and they all hated the food. It honestly hurt to see all that chicken go directly into the garbage, but they claim it was inedible. Since it's not a saucy type of flavoring, but a dry rub, they said that the heat was painful, and not flavorful. Back to the sandwich I enjoyed... I felt that there was a sweetness to the flavor that I liked, which I could see not everyone enjoying. There is also a hot dusting over the french fries which exacerbates any discomfort people are having from the heat. There really wasn't anything to cool it down. The macaroni and cheese was piping hot, although not spicy.

When we stopped today, we knew we would have a good Friday lunch. What we were blessed with was Adrion, a young male with great customer service skills. Adrion assisted us on the kiosk when ordering. He then cooked our order, and personally delivered it to our table with a smile. While enjoyed a quiet meal in a clean dining room, I saw Adrion help another dining room customer, before taking a bagged order outside to waiting car customer. Wow! Wow! I'm sure Adrion's NOT getting enough appreciation. I asked his name, so I could give him some customer love. So glad you were working today Adrion. God bless the employees with a good "work ethic."

They were hot, I suppose, so that was a plus, but this wouldn't be the item that would bring me back. As for the cheeseburger, it seemed like it was having a bit of an identity crisis. Was it going for a smash burger? Something in the middle range? It was hard to say. And the cheese? It was also trying to decide if it wanted to melt or stay intact. Overall, I don't think I need to visit this incarnation of Steak 'n Shake. I'll just think back on the fond memories of the 80s and 90s (and their outstanding commercials)

It's very cool on the inside with vintage and Indiana-themed decor, tin ceilings, and, of course, a potbelly stove. The staff were friendly. But brother and I were very confused about the ordering process. There wasn't a lot of directional signage showing where to start and each step of the process. I watched a few other customers go through and they didn't seem like they had a problem so maybe it was just us. Next time I would probably just order online and pick it up so I could avoid the in-person ordering process altogether. I had the turkey sandwich and it was pretty good. I would say definitely a step up from your typical sub sandwich chain in terms of flavor and toppings options. I tried the chili mac as well. The chili is definitely à la Wendy's but I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese was good as well. I'd probably get either on its own but not together again. I also tried the Potbelly/Zapp's collab chips, the Hot Pepper flavor. They were good but are definitely not for everyone. When I visited, most of their fountain soda options were out of order so I settled on a no sugar added Pineapple Passionfruit juice/soda which was actually pretty good. We'll definitely be back - especially to try out their milkshakes!

One thing I really love is their rewards program in the app. I've received several perks over time, from free shakes during their business anniversary celebration to a birthday treat. I even randomly received a free entrée coupon and used it toward the Sunrise Burger. It was delicious! It comes with two patties, so I ended up sharing it with my husband since I'm more of a one patty girl myself. Saving money while still enjoying a good meal is always a win, and I really appreciate how they reward loyal customers in this way. I've dined inside a few times and have never had any issues. They have a family friendly ambiance, and during the holidays they decorate like during Christmas with trees and holiday lighting. There's plenty of seating available, including outdoor seating, which is really nice when the weather is good. Their kids meal is also a solid option. It comes with a single hamburger, fries, a drink, and a cookie, and the cookie is actually really good. Their shakes are definitely worth mentioning too. I've shared, quite often, of my deep appreciation for the Shapiro's response when I had accessibility concerns about their Fashion Mall location. They did a remarkably beautiful job of responding well, adapting, and yet also honoring their own business needs. The end result became a more accessible layout that was still customer friendly for everyone. I will always appreciate that response and should their praises. But, there's something special about this location. It's the look. It's the feel. It's the vibe. It's just everything. A little bit of Shapiro's history - you can trace the Shapiro family back to 1795 Ukraine. Louis and Rebecca Shapiro landed stateside in 1905; within a couple years opening a small grocery/deli. In 1925, they leaned into their cultural and faith roots after the election of Ed Jackson as governor (Jackson was a well-known Klan member). They added the word "kosher" to their building and a Star of David. (As someone who's traveled over 7,000 miles by wheelchair, I love a good act of subtle rebellion). They more and more leaned into their cafe routes, and in 1984 added a second location on the northwestside. I probably frequented this location the most since I went to Pike High School. As we all know, that location eventually closed. Fashion Mall lasted about five years. There was a Carmel spot, too. But, for me, it always comes down to this location. It's warm. It's friendly. The food is a premium deli experience. I love the meatloaf (like seriously). They have breakfast, they have a ton of baked good options (cakes, cookies, others), soups, salads, hot deli, cold deli, sandwiches, entrees, and a whole lot more. I love the baked goods. I love the fried chicken. Is it a bit pricey? Yep. You also get enough for at least a couple meals (if you can truly hold out that long). Accessibility is solid here. I've already talked about their attention to that kind of detail. It's real AND it's sincere. Strangely enough, I've never had the Reuben here. It's one of their acclaimed sandwiches, but there's always something else I want more. While you can spend a fair amount here, you can also eat here pretty modestly. Shapiro's, at least for me, is one of those places that defines Indy. I'd likely weep if they ever left our city. Good food. Great family. Wonderful location. Fair pricing. Accessible. Quite honestly, it's just about everything I want a restaurant to be.
