Service was quick and friendly, which I really appreciated. But my caramel iced coffee was a whole comedy show. It was basically ice, cream, and caramel... with one tiny detail missing: the coffee! There was a sign at the drive-thru window that said, "Be nice, we're short staffed." I totally understand, and everyone was doing their best. Everyone that works here was really nice and pleasant. They have a changing table in the women's restroom! That was hard to find in Long Beach. We asked to talk to the manager and the lady we spoke to was trying to tell the manager what happened and instead of listening to her she snapped at her and said "I heard you" in a very rude tone and asked us what was wrong. So thoroughly impressed with the service here. We stopped in here for breakfast as it was only a couple minutes away from where we were staying. Manager actually came over and held the door open for us, and let us know that we only had a couple more minutes to order breakfast. We were able to get our order in, we ordered off our phones to be able to use a couple more rewards, and he was the one who brought the food out to our tables. Everything was super hot and the staff was extremely friendly. Tables were all really clean, the fountain was clean and again really the service here was just terrific. And to see the manager running a register and bringing food out was really refreshing. read more

We got two Happy Meals and one large Diet Coke and the total was $16.78. SIXTEEN DOLLARS AND SEVENTY EIGHT CENTS! I was shocked and had to verify that our order was correct, because at our local McDonald's, this same order is less than $10! I said, "Holy cow, that's expensive!", and the kid at the window just said, "Ya.....", like he's heard that before. Well, i'll stick my neck out here. Like most other McDonalds around the world, you can expect to get your McChicken served precisely the same way as everywhere else. Everytime we've had that 'quick I need fast food and need it now' urge, we've stopped here and had a great experience every time. Order correct, food hot, and just how i expect it. And a little shout-out to Cale working the cash register AND the drive up ordering - kid was super. So many folk bash McD's, but I'll give a high-five to the fact that 95% of the food is served in earth friendly containers - no styro, no plastic. I remember 50 years or so ago they tried styro for the Big Mac, and the people went "NOOO" and McD's agreed! Switched back to paper! They are a leading example of how we can use non-plastic service ware - I wish so many of our other 'local' restaurants would follow suit! Dakota, you seemed to be the person in charge when we came through the drive-thru around 9 p.m. last night (April 6), so I'm addressing this to you. We ordered the Big Mac Bundle and the young lady who took our order volunteered the information that the price on the reader board ($23.15) was wrong, and it would be $16 (which was what we knew to be the normal price and was what we expected to pay). When we got to your window, you asked us for $25.70, which included tax. We let you know that your coworker had told us it would be $16, and you stated that no, the price was changing because there was another bundle being added, or something like that. We continued to emphasize that she had made a point of letting us know it would be $16. You asked her if that was true, and she said yes, but you shrugged it off and continued to assert that it would be $25.70. When we kept insisting that she had told us it would be $16, your final words were, "Well, she was wrong." I have no idea how much authority McDonalds gives you to make decisions regarding customer service. I've been to other McDonalds where a manager gave me a coupon for a free sandwich when an employee made a mistake. I really don't care about getting anything for free. But not once during our transaction did you ever even say, "I'm sorry." You were argumentative and dismissive and seemed like you had no regard for making your customers feel valued or appreciated. It seems like the correct thing to do would have been to accept $16 plus tax from us and use the opportunity as a teachable moment with your employee. Or, if you're not empowered to do that, offer a coupon or an additional item ... or at the very least, apologize for your coworker's mistake! Remember, we are there as a favor to you, not the other way around. Desperate for some calories and coffee, we stopped here on our way out of Long Beach on Sunday, Sept. 3. I've never felt compelled to write a review before, but if this saves someone a miserable vacation experience, I've earned my wings. First, I know COVID hit restaurants hard. And I realize that perhaps some workers may have been unavailable over Labor Day weekend. But this was simply inexcusable. Flies EVERYWHERE. Incompetence behind the counter. And a 45-minute wait for two McMuffins, a hashed brown, and a coffee, despite there being NO ONE ELSE in line ahead of us (we stupidly figured we'd get our food quicker if we went in instead of drive-thru). On second thought, make that 50 minutes since they forgot the hashed brown and we had to go back. Oh, and over $20 for our troubles. We were incredulous. At about the half hour mark, we nearly asked for a refund but figured we were committed at that stage. The food, naturally, was soggy and gross, even by "fast" "food" standards. Just nasty. To top it all off, as we were getting to leave the parking lot, a young female employee with lit cigarettes in both hands, who was very clearly methed out of her mind, was dropped off for her shift. Of the handful of times I've come here after 8pm, like 8:05pm, everytime the ice cream machine "isn't working". Hmmmm...it magically breaks down after 8pm. This time I actually asked if it was really broken or they just shut it down early, I told them it was fine either way I honestly was just curious, avoid any further frustration in the future of ordering and being told the machine is broke. The guy at the window had no idea and said well it was broken earlier and now it's being cleaned. After I jokingly asked about the machine their card reader wasn't working up front and they were going to need to take my card to the back. Well, it's 9 and McDonalds closes at 11. It's also like 70 degrees out, I'm thirsty, it's not busy so I thought "Why not? Let's get a large strawberry shake. I had a long day. I earned it." I pull up suspecting that maybe the place closed because I waited a good couple of minutes and no one either saw me, or someone was ignoring me at the front. Maybe they were closing and just decided the gal in front of me was the last drive-thru customer. Nope. Someone pulled up behind me and ordered his food no problem. Okay, something's up here. I finally make it to the second window and this blonde kid with some facial hair is sitting there talking to customers over his cute little headset, putting me on his pay no mind list (I literally wave at him for a solid couple of minutes). There's a few other workers there hard at work prepping food. This guy literally ignores me by then it looks like intentionally. Doesn't even acknowledge that I exist. I'm close to ten minutes in between waiting at the ordering station, waiting in line for other people to get their food, and waiting for this punk to acknowledge my presence. Filthy dining area and bathrooms... ordered burgers to go and got all the way home and the beef was cold and raw. It was so raw that the blood and whatever kind of product they use as filler in the raw beef had bled onto the buns. Called them to complain and to let them know to pull the rest off the line and don't sell them and to check their staff and was told 'I'm very sorry this happened to you but I really don't like the tone in your voice'... I told her my tone was of an unhappy customer looking out for the safety of other customers and was hung up on. If I hadn't been already 15 miles away I would have gone right back in there and threw the bloody meat products right back at them. Instead I've called the health department and sent them photos.
