The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out. We helped ourselves to the salsa bar while we waited. There were also pickled carrots, jalapeños (canned ones) and radishes. Food came out hot and fresh. Tacos a little bigger than your average street tacos. Beans so good! Nachos were good too. Really, it was ALL good. Some mangonadas would have made it perfect. I have always loved Patty's halibut tacos -- they do not disappoint. However, the price has gotten to be too high. I called in two orders of halibut tacos today (four tacos total) and my bill was just under $35 with tax. The meal included a handful of homemade tortilla chips and a side of pico, but we're still talking $7-8 per taco minus tax, chips, pico and to-go packaging. Their online menu lists the item as $12.95 per order so I'm not sure if I was overcharged or if their online menu prices have not been updated yet. Unfortunately I'll probably skip Patty's Fish Tacos from now on. read more

This place is a tiny hole in the wall next to Marsh's, which made it super convenient for us to snag dinner after viewing the museum with our two small children. I was a little sketched out that she had to go outside to cook our food (the food service worker in me was twitching a little), but the food was actually pretty good. My complaints are thus: there's no kids menu so the two little ones with me had to pick the one or two menu items that they were willing to eat and pay for the full meal price (8.95 for a full hamburger that I knew my son wouldn't be able to finish). Oh well, our fault for bringing them there right? So the hamburger wasn't even fully formed into a patty, it was like chunks of beef chuck steak or something, so my five-year-old had a difficult time with it as chunks of his burger kept falling out of the bun. It all wound up in his basket, with just a bun on the side. My husband and I left there still hungry because they don't provide any sides with the entrees or chips & salsa like many taco places do. We paid over $40 and left hungry. In the end, I felt a twinge of disappointment as we drove out of town and noticed the many other restaurants that were clearly more suitable for a family environment and probably offered a kids menu, and I felt stupid when I saw how packed with people they were (we were the only ones eating at Patty's on a Saturday night around dinner time, in hindsight that should've been my first clue). read more

The chicken and carne asada are safe for us g-free sensitive types. The chicken is juicy yet rather bland. The beef is good. The carne tacos are just meat and onions served with green, med salsa and a wedge of lime. The best dish was the nachos sans cheese sauce. There is still cheese on it, but no sauce. The carne is flavorful and topped with lettuce, pinto beans tomatoes and sour cream. If you can't have the crab, the nachos are the bomb. read more

First thing to know: Patty likes to fry things. The fish in the halibut tacos is deep fried, and the taco tortillas are also fried. A white sauce is drizzled on lettuce on the tacos. The tacos are tasty, especially with the pico, which was a small serving. The halibut tacos come with flour tortilla chips, not a large serving. For $15 I thought it overpriced, but this is a tourist town a nd prices are up in general these past couple years, so. The chicken tacos were a bit bland, and the chicken didn't seem fried but the corn tortillas were. They also had lettuce and were drizzled with a white sauce. At $8.95 the chicken tacos are a relative bargain, but the halibut were slightly tastier. My recco is to go with the chicken and get extra pico if you can for more flavor. read more

It was open on the Sunday of rod run. A beautiful day and the food was outstanding. Even provided water for my dog. When I came back the following Sunday the sign said open and it was absolutely closed. I don't quite understand the inconsistency in Long Beach business hours, postings and services.
