Walked here on a cold and sunny afternoon as most of the places in Long Beach are closed today. It's located across the way in a food truck area, but is not a food truck. The ambiance is very casual with outdoor seating and depending on the weather can be enjoyable, but I would imagine most days pretty breezy...but you could opt to eat in your car. We were quickly greeted. Ordered a taco plate and a burrito. Food was ready in about 5 minutes. Let me warn you that this is not an authentic Mexican food spot. This place serves gringo food. If youre looking for authentic Mexican hit up Pattys. Carne Asada tacos were okay--the rest of it, well...tbh...I was sad that I paid money for it. The rice and beans were horrible. Rice was seasoned rice, not Mexican rice. Beans tasted like canned beans that had been "dressed up" While the burrito was big, it needed more meat. Had plenty of the nasty beans and rice in it. Taco Bell style with lettuce and tomatoes. Salsa was okay...surprised that the hot salsa actually had a little spice to it. I personally would not return. read more

We are a family of 7 so the set up is great so we can all get a little of what we want. I got four tacos, two carne asada and two Al pastor. My DIL also got a chicken taco salad. All were EXCELLENT! Gal running the stand also ran our food orders out to us because the tables that are set up to eat at are far enough away that the ringers dont work well. Next time we are in Long Beach we will be back for sure. Bring a coat and you'll be happy! read more

We stopped by on a Friday just before a lunch rush, about 11:30. They've got a cute little shop sitting in a large gravel lot, loads of parking available. We opted for a few carne asada and chicken tacos. They double up their corn tortillas, great for the "hold together" factor, but for me they could've been grilled a bit more. My wife and I stopped in here yesterday on the way back to Seattle. I was starving. Super nice girl to our order and gave us a buzzer. A few minutes later and I was really happy with my burrito. First of all she hooked my wife up with a vegetarian burrito, but mine was crazy. Roasted pork, rice all kinds of stuff. And they're adult-sized. They had a red roasted adobo salsa with a good bite, but not too hot. The other was a roasted tomatillo salsa. Both were nice, thick and came with limes. For like twenty odd bucks or something. We are them in the parking lot and my wife was zonked out the whole way home. Thing put her in a coma. :) By far the best quality food I've ever had in Long Beach. Nothing else is even close. I'll keep coming back to town after all. Long Beach aught to be renamed the Taco Shack in appreciation for moving there and sharing such good food. Please don't move away. read more

Refried beans were liquid and lacked flavor. Had to drink them as they had no spoons. Carne asada was greasy and lacked flavor. Rice was dry and lacked any flavor. Likely wouldn't return again based on lack of flavor and bizarre preparation of liquid refried beans. read more

We moved here from California a couple years ago, and taco shack in my opinion has the best tacos in Pacific County. I always get the carnitas taco plate ("The Meal") generously topped with fresh cilantro onions and Mexican cheese. YUM. And they serve with fresh limes. Fools my taste buds into thinking we are back in Cabo. read more

We went to order at 2:58pm, we didn't know they closed at 3 but they said they would take our order anyways. But no. 30 mins goes by nothing. 45 mins nothing. 1 hour nothing! We just left without our food after paying $20 plus tip for a burrito bowl! The dry meat and missing burrito ingredients was from my last visit, but we thought we'd give this place another try. Apparently we should've have... The service was good. We ordered two carne asada burritos. They are full/large, but you are not getting much meat. I personally wouldn't call it carne asada. Today Hubby treated us to tacos for lunch. We chose pork and my oh my were they yummy. The 8 year old loved them, as we were leaving with them he was like "Man those smell so good."
