Since I was in the area, I decided to go for the new Big Arch. This is a big burger - two 4 ounces beef patties, 3 slices of white cheddar cheese, small crispy onion pieces, chopped white onion, lettuce, pickles, and the Arch Sauce. This is not an inexpensive sandwich, I paid $8.88 for it! This sandwich just did not come together for me - a plus here and there, but not enough to elevate this item. While the crispy onion pieces added some texture and taste, the pieces often fell out of the burger. The lettuce was thinly shredded and quickly became soggy and a distraction. There was too much raw onion, again hard to keep in the sandwich, flavor was strong. The sauce was a simple combination of ketchup with a lesser amount of mustard. It really didn't bring much to the overall taste. Overall, this was a fail, and a big one, I think. The Whopper is even more ahead of what is on McDonald's menu now! read more

SPECIAL GRINCH MEAL EDITION Dinner idea because, well, the Grinch Meal. Arrived about 6:150m and the drive through line was to the parking lot entrance already. Wife had an idea for her to run in and get the meals instead. Bad idea. A friend of ours was in line inside for 20 minutes and hadn't had a chance to order yet. She told my wife we were better off in the drive through line. So I circled around, picked her up and got back in line. 20 minutes later we were able to order our Grinch Meals. We got served very soon after that. PROPS TO THE MCDONALDS STAFF The person taking orders and taking payment were as nice as could be. In a very hectic and chaotic dinner rush, they maintained their composure and sense of honor. They kept laughing how crazy it was for the Grinch Meal. THE MEAL We both got the 10-piece nuggets (Big Mac is also an option) and diet cokes. Order was fresh , hot and as ordered. Came with Grinch salt (pickle flavor) and a sealed plastic bag with mystery socks. The nuggets and fries were as expected, consistent. I tried the Buffalo Ranch sauce which was very good. The pickle salt is . Delicious sprinkled in both the nuggets and fries. I heard of people using the salt on microwave popcorn with delicious success. So if you have extra packets, save it! We each got different socks which were passed to our daughter. VERDICT ALL IN ALL it was a little adventure going through the entire process. From the drive through to the finished meal, it was a small thing we could share as a family and have a good laugh about it down the road. The socks and salt made it worth it. Ordered inside through the kiosk, so we didn't really have any interaction with the staff members. Though, while waiting for our food, I noticed it took two girls to sweep the floor-- one who was wiping tables and sweeping and the other to hold the dustpan and text lol. Food came decently fast, but the fries were defintiely old and crunchy. My 4 year old didn't even want them. I got a quarter pounder with cheese and it seemed fresh. Nugs were hot and pretty good too. The staff member who delivered the food didn't say anything, just set the food down and walked off, leaving our number on the table. Lost stars because there were literal boogers wiped all over the wall in the bathroom and absolutely no changing station in either restroom. I changed my infant son on the booth seat. The food is good but every time I go they forget to give me something and tbh it's just arrogant. They have good costumer service they just can't give you what you paid for. I just left and order a double cheeseburger meal and they forgot to give me my medium fry. I would honestly rather go to Burger King. Horrible staff, horrible customer service, still the same trash food. If you feel like hearing the staff yelling behind the corner about their personal issues, or trying to order while the employee is listening to their AirPods, this is the place for you. Use the kiosk to order and be amazed that they still don't get the order correct, which is not surprising considering a lot of the ones fixing the food don't speak English. The people this establishment has representing them throughout the drive thru experience ranks 1 out of 10 (with 10 being very satisfied) in customer service. They are rude, they don't make eye contact, smile or thank you for your business, which is customer service 101. And whatever you do, don't ask for extra sauce at the window. They have some creepy guy, who doesn't look like he should be anywhere near people's food who came out and stared at my daughter for 5 minutes as we waited at the drive thru window... Last night was the last time we will go to this McDonalds. I would rather drive all the way to Statesville or Mooresville and pay a little extra and eat at Chick-Filet and have excellent customer experience. You get what you pay for. read more

Whomever takes the orders for the drive-thru either needs to have a little bit more customer service training or should have another job. Any time me and my family have come up here they talk in the most monotonous voice and have the worst attitude. My boyfriend and I just came through, he asks for two mchickens with no lettuce and her reply was "dont come with lettuce". We get our food and they hand us two mcdoubles. I go back into the store and the woman "Amy" I am guessing the store manager gives attitude about needing the mcdoubles back after they've been touched checking the food and we are sick. She gives us our mchickens, and I ask for one more sweet and sour sauce and she looks at me and says "it's extra for sauce, 48¢ extra, but i don't feel like doin all that" and throws it into my hand which i didn't catch. I worked at Mcdonald's in the early 70's when we had great fresh food and excellent fast service much like Chick Filet today . I have visited this location for the last time in Mocksville . My last trip Sat took 15 minutes at the drive thru and one lane was closed for some reason . It was a Sat am and not that busy . The lady taken my order also didn't understand my simple order and they never even thank you when they give you your food . Fast, but unfriendly service. Breakfast burritos were dry and hard. Fruit in yogurt parfait was not frozen solid, which is often the case at McD's. Many dirty tables, but someone did start to service the lobby after I was seated. Any hint of a smile by the girl who took my order would have garnered another star. read more

Just an update on the McDonald's in Mocksville if anyone is looking for a place to vape McDonald's seems to be allowing one customer to come in at night and vape in the store so I guess vaping is allowed in this store he comes in around 9:30 to 10 and stays until the employees leave at the end of the night vaping in the store while watching TV like he owns the place I've tried contacting the health department about him vaping in the store they said he's not supposed to be but no one is stopping him from doing it so I guess this store allows customers to vape in this store read more

Worst service ever. This should be a 0 rating. Orders are NEVER right. Everyone is horribly mean. I have had drive thru REFUSE to wait on me when their mic stopped working while ordering & I had to pull to the window to try to finish. I asked if I could finish my order & was told 'no that I could pull back thru and get in the one lane that was working or leave'. So we order our food and they had to go ask if milkshake machine was up and she didn't ring up a milkshake so we asked at second window if we can order one seeing how we had to pull up for a strawberry milkshake anyways and the lady rudely said no pull around to order more. I've given this location one star but if there was an option for ZERO stars I would have put zero In a heartbeat. I would like to begin with the environment. You walk through the doors and immediately are greater with, probably over a hundred, flies. They are EVERYWHERE. Landing on food, buzzing around people's heads, and on the tables and windows! It is extremely off putting and should have been the first sign to just walk away. We ordered from the kiosk and wait for our food at a table with fewer flies. Then we notice a lady who was bringing out the food to guests. She was working much noticeably slower than her co-workers, two of which were considerably older than her by at least 20 years! When she was bringing the food out she had no idea what the guests numbers were and had the guests checking the food themselves to see if it was their's, thus random people touching other people's food. YUCK! She then walked around and asked very loudly to each table, "You good," in a very rude manner and she very CLEARLY couldn't care less. She asked me and my boyfriend, as well as another table, if she could take our trays. This would be fine except we had literally just got our food and we hadn't taken anything off of it, where is the common sense?? When my boyfriend opened his crispy chicken sandwich he noticed the bun was horribly burnt on the inside and very hard to the touch. I walked over to the counter to get it fixed and the manager, who was very busy screaming at the staff in the kitchen to do their jobs, had to tell someone to help me. The woman who came to help me seemed to not even notice what I said about the sandwich and the manager had to ask me again what was wrong with it. The second sandwich was much better but by this point my boyfriend and I had completely lost our appetite. It felt like the only people working were the manager on duty, the older lady bussing tables, the man taking the trash out, and the boy who just clocked in. Not a single person in the kitchen was respecting the manager enough to follow directions and I felt very sorry for her. We won't be back to this location ever again.
