I am always hopeful that my experience at this McDonald's will be better than the last, but I am proven wrong every time--each experience is WORSE than the last. The line is always extremely long and extremely slow. Forget fast food...this McDonald's is nowhere near fast. They have messed up my order almost every single time. They also stop serving McFlurrys at 6 PM every night--I know this because they told me they turn off the ice cream machine every night at 6 PM. They also stop serving breakfast at 10:30 AM. Ordered lunch for the hubby and I in drive thru. He got a fish meal with a Diet Coke. I got a quarter pounder meal with a coke. Handed me my drinks and neither one marked so I checked receipt and it says coke with both meals. When they handed me my opened bag of food on this bitterly cold day, I told them that one was supposed to be a diet, so they handed a 3rd drink that they said was a Diet Coke. This McDonald's restaurant shows a lack of supervision. The toilet paper roll was just stuck on the back, with the dispenser empty. From the size of the roll, it had been there some time. There was no ice in either soda dispenser, and evidently no plan to bother filling them. This is the second McDonald's in two days to fall far short of even mediocre performance. We wanted breakfast and when we go to McDonald's, we usually go the extra couple miles to Bremen, but I thought MAYBE the breakfast shift in Nappanee isn't as bad as the dinner shift. HUGE MISTAKE. First, I asked for an unsweetened tea with my meal. Since the beginning of time, breakfast meals have come with a small drink unless you request larger. My son ordered a coke and she gave us both large. The monitor wasn't working, so I couldn't see this. I pay and get my receipt and see I was charged an upcharge for the large tea. I flagged down an employee and politely asked for a smaller drink and a refund because I won't finish a large and I don't want to pay the extra. First off all, she was breathing very heavily and I couldn't tell if she was overworked or sick. She said, "Didn't you order a large sweet tea?" Omg. If I would've gotten sweet tea... So she tells me I have to pull forward. I asked if they needed my card to do the refund and she said, "That's why I need you to pull forward right now." So another girl comes out and hands a bag to the truck parked in front of us and then stand there for a minute. Obviously there was a mistake. They hand her back the bag and she walks up to us and asks if it's ours. I said, "Yeah, but didn't those people just take that bag from you?" She said, "They didn't TAKE it..." I first worked at McDonald's in 1993 and it was always the rule that if a customer touched the food and gave it back, you threw it away. You NEVER took food from one customer and gave it to another; not even sauce packets. Fast forward almost 30 years later in the Covid hype and she's trying to give me a bag of food that some stranger has just rifled through without gloves. Most of it was wrapped, but the hashbrowns were exposed. So I'm supposed to touch wrappers that his potentially filthy hands touched and then touch my food and then put it in my mouth? No. I didn't say all that to her, but I did tell her that since he touched it, I wanted my food remade. 10 minutes goes by and several other angry customers went back in for errors or forgotten items and finally she comes out and practically throws my bag at me. I enquired about my refund and she stomped away. Meanwhile, I check my food and it was all there, rock hard biscuits and all. She comes back with 11 cents. No. The upcharge, which may seem petty, but it was the principle, was 39 cents plus tax. She was very rude when I told her I didn't think this was right. I went in and the manager explains that a medium tea is also extra because they charge more for tea than soda. Technically, she says, tea is not a softdrink and they have a different owner and different prices than other stores. (Also different standards, apparently.) By this point, I'd had it with this store. I returned everything, got my money back and now we're picking up breakfast somewhere else. Between this experience and the dried out, disgusting burgers and fish we got last time, we will not EVER be back to that store. read more

Every last employee here should be fired. I've gone to this McDonald's numerous times hoping they finally do something right. My one plus though was one evening I made a late night run for the wife and I. They got the order wrong (nothing new) but when I called, the manager was very nice and just told me to come in the next day to get a new sandwich. Now the bad. I received my cup for the ice tea, then I waited 20 minutes for a small iced coffee. They were not busy, the cashier looked at me standing there numerous times and said nothing. But the one thing that happened almost set me into making a public scene/calling their corporate office. An employee on break who ordered AFTER me,received her iced coffee first. I enjoyed this restaurant, the people that work here smell great, like the best urinal cakes you've ever witnessed. The burgers are 80% artificial, and 130% unofficial. One time, when we went through the drive thru, the lady don't even say which window to pull up to. We pulled up to the first, and nobody was there. After fifteen minutes of just sitting there, some guy comes and puts a sign that reads, " Please go to next window, thank you!" and he didn't even decide to help us out. He just puts the sign up, and walks away. You're kidding. Well that's the crappy McDonalds Of Nappanee that they are. And the new playplace? As a ten year old, I'm annoyed. We go to elkhart McDonald's the following day, only to see THE SAME EXACT PLAYPLACE. McDonald's makes that US 6 diner look good! Which the diner isn't bad it's just that McDonald's sucks. Can i give a zero star review? I guess not. Im aware that the bar is set super low for mcdonalds expectations. I expect shitty cheap food really fast. But i waited 20 minutes for an egg mcmuffin.
