Our annual stop at Redamak's on the way to our cottage for summer vacation did not disappoint! We started with the clam strips. Everyone in the family ordered their own version of the famous Velveeta burger, and my son decided to try a banana shake this year. It was so good that I kept stealing sips! I ordered the black bean burger which was great. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but the wait was only about 25 minutes. We lucked out and grabbed the last seat at the bar, where we enjoyed our first Oberon beer of the summer while the kids had fun playing the video games. It ended up being the perfect start to our vacation. If you're heading through the area, Redamak's is absolutely worth the stop for great burgers, fun atmosphere, and classic summer memories. On Yelp it sounds like heaven. However no where it says s CASH only. Thankfully we had a debit card so we could get cash from the ATM but guess what? One ATM was out of cash!!!' Like seriously?! The food came out fast and the cheese curds were not bad ( nope not a Wisconsin curd since I am do live in Wisconsin and eat curds on the regular ) hamburger had 0 flavor and I hate tons of flavor. The reason it was only 3 stars because the fact you let children run in the dining area is absurd. Especially since they have an awesome jungle gym on the other side for them to play. Walked into redamaks on Friday evening around 7:30pm. It was very busy but still got seated quickly. Our server greeted us and took our drink order plus app order. We started with the cheese fries. They weren't anything fabulous. The fries could've been a little more fried to my liking but the melted cheese was warm and gooey. We each order the 8oz velveeta burger. Wasn't asked how we wanted them cooked so right off made me think they were frozen patties. Turnaround for our burgers was only 15-20 minutes. They had plenty of toppings and the cheese was good. The burger itself was just mediocre with a lukewarm warm center. This would be a one time stop for me. Also it's cash only. It's a good thing we looked before we arrived. Updating my review. This place when to shit fast. In 2018 they removed the arcade and turned it into a take out counter. EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE, LOW QUALITY, AND SMALL PORTIONS. This used to be a fun place, now it's a greedy dump with no charm. Shame on you Redamaks owners. read more

personally I find this to be a great option for carry out. If you are going to the beach, or had a long night the evening before, or your just getting settled into your vacation home after a long day, order a burger for take out. It's gunna be delicious, it's ready super quick, and you get to enjoy a moment of their ambiance when you go in to pick up your food. I called in an order the other day when I was staying on a property near by, the woman said about 15 minutes, but I swear it was ready even quicker than that. This place has been here forever. I haven't been here in like 25 years. It's just as I remember it. Same wooden booths. I had a vanilla shake which was really good. Mozzarella sticks were average. They did give you a lot of them for the money. My nephew got the spicy chicken sandwich that was great. Looked amazing! Hamburgers are what they are known for. Everyone liked theirs. As a vegetarian who has a place in New Buffalo, I've driven by Redamak's for years but never stopped in. I was eating yummy tacos outside at Rio's across the street and had a craving for onion rings. So I crossed over, went in and ordered some. The place looked great and the service was wonderful. I ordered them to go since it was beautiful out and I'd rather eat outside. What a disappointment when I got them. They were fresh and piping hot, but there were 9 rather thin onion rings for $8.21! And they were absolutely ordinary. If I had to guess, they were something like Gordon Food Service frozen onion rings freshly fried. The good thing is I won't have a craving for onion rings next time I pass by Redamak's. read more

Each time we are in the area we love visiting Redamak's and have been coming there for 25 years. Today after a family vacation in the area, we stopped by for lunch. We each ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries with a root beer. We were shocked when we got the check and found that it was over $42 - not including the tip! This is outrageous! We can have the same meal at Five Guys for about $25. As much as I hate to say it, we will never return. They have lost two to loyal customers for good. Redamak's was recommended to my friends and I by multiple people so of course we had to come check it out. Probably one of the best burgers I've had. We also got mozzarella sticks and fries as sides and those were amazing too. They had A LOT on the menu, it was hard to choose! They were also accommodating to food allergies and provided a lot of alternative for those that don't eat meat! Our waitress was so personable and friendly. She gave taught us some history about the restaurant and how a lot of the servers are long time employees (some 15+ years!!!) Waited 40 minutes to get sat just to wait an hour and a half for mediocre burgers. Appetizers came out within twenty mins but the main course took entirely far too long. The server was aware we were not happy since others who were sat afterwards were getting their food before us. Been here before and I understand it was a busy Saturday but we were about ready to walk out with how long the food took. Nothing was done by the restaurant about our unhappy experience. So I've stopped by here a couple of times and I honestly can't believe anyone would ever give this burger anything less than 5 stars. First and foremost you have to accept two fundamental facts: 1. They only accept cash. I always forget this and end up using the ATM. 2. Unless you're there when they first open, you will have a wait time. This is a very popular restaurant, and in my opinion the popularity is very justified. The burgers have always been very fresh and perfectly cooked. I don't order anything complicated, just very straightforward cheeseburger and i have never found fault with them. The onion rings and fries are kind of basic but I think the burger more than makes up for it. A nice bonus while you're waiting is that you can order a delicious milkshake outside and enjoy that while your table becomes available. Just don't over do it, want to make sure you have room for that burger. The one negative I can point is the price of their drinks. They are way more than you would typically expect but since a drink with dinner isn't that important to me, it really didn't effect me. Give me the milkshake any day anyway. read more

Taking a trip down memory lane. My husband used to go here when he was in high school and in college and we're traveling so stopped here for lunch. They were very busy, but we got seated right away. Redamak is an iconic restaurant that is always a must try. Upon visiting you will probably find it very busy as it is very popular. Finding the entry door to the dinning room is a bit confusing...but you will get there! The facility is large and the menu is somewhat narrow so they move people along faster. The interior is a throw back to history with beautiful wood work. Like what you would expect from a lake cottage. The facility is in great repair, very clean and comfortable. This is sometimes hard to do with a high volume of customers. Note...they only take cash! They do have ATM machines available. I had a 1/3 lb burger. It was nice and moist and tender with a good beef flavoring. No other special seasonings...just good ole beef. The burger came with a monster thick piece of onion. While the onion was very mild, fresh and crunchy...it was really too thick. Overall the burger was very tasty! The cole slaw was okay. The food is good. I liked the velveeta cheeseburgers. I ordered the double and the wife had the single. I would call the burgers good although not excellent.
