This was a in and out purchase. Went to a nearby store and because I take public transportation, I was being mindful of timing on Labor Day and the bus runs on a Sunday schedule. I went in to try McDonald's newest McCafé drink called Red Bull Dragonberry Energy. It contains red bull and there dragonfruit touch, the drink is sweet and not overwhelming. One sip, and automatically I can feel the rest kicking in, my body immediately responded to the red bull in a positive way. The drink presentation was super pretty to a point I did not want to mess it up. I also ordered a McDouble for a pick me up, and the order was placed within minutes. Waiting time for my order was less than 5 minutes. The restaurant was clean, and renovated, and have a cafe vibe. This location i across from the West Farms shopping plaza. The employees were nice and busy at the same time. Not the crazy busy but with a purpose. Excellent experience. For the first time I'm sastified with my order that was made just right. read more

I ordered through the app. For 30 minutes they told me it's not ready. During that time they said very rude and racist things of me in Spanish, which they didn't know I understood. I finally asked for a manager who was extremely dismissive, disrespectful and ended up providing me with a refund instead of a meal. Stopped for a breakfast sandwich in the midst of post-Tropical Power Blight. After two days of scrounging the partially refrigerated food stock at home a change of scene welcome. Open only for delivery and drive-thru. Drive-Thru speaker ordering has never been my preference for the fear of encountering "Charlie Browns' Teachers voice on the other end. "Wa wa, whaa waa wa waaaa." Anyway, we quickly order with precision, "Two Bacon, Egg, and Cheese McMuffin's with two unsweetened tea..." From the other end, "Sir, we're serving Lunch now." It was 10:30 AM - who does this? So with the building hunger, off rolled the usual, "A Number 3 with Medium Sprite...and a McGrill Chicken with..." Again interrupted from the other end, "I'm sorry we only have the Crispy Chicken sandwich." Oh boy. "Oookay that will do and a medium unsweetened ice tea." From the Waaa Waaa box came, "Okay, your total will be..." not listening I drive up... ...pay the amount, and roll to the next window. Beverages, check. Medium #3, check. Crispy McChicken, in nowhere land. Fed up, I quickly tell the wife she can a one of my two cheeseburgers from the #3. We both agreed and left in disbelief. Only reason why I come here is the play palace but at this point I don't know if the convenience is worth it. First of all. I ordered my food and was told they don't have apples. The one reason why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is they gave me ice cream in place of the apples. I go into the play area with my kids and immediately started sweating due to there being no air on. I asked if they could turn the air on and they said they don't control it. Almost every table I sat at had to be wiped off. I didn't get a photo because I cleaned it first but one table was covered in dry chocolate ice cream which I cleaned myself. My burger came and was just slapped together (two Pattie's back to back) in my Big Mac. The bathroom by the play place had had a sign on it for over 2 months. I'm sure it's due to not wanting to clean it. I assume this because before they decided to put a trash bag over the toilet I took my kid in and used the toilet and bathroom just fine. I went to throw away my trash and barely had room to do so. Lastly if you don't use the kiosk for self order and pay you could be eating 2-5 mins (which I witnessed a few times) due to no one covering the counter. All in all I would not recommend this place unless you absolutely have no other choice. ***oh and I just remembered...my last visit I got the Quarter Pounder and the burger patty was not cool all the way. Really horrible customer service. My husband saw that they messed up our order as he pulled away, so he told the person at the window, had to repeat it multiple times, and was told it would be taken care of. It was also like pulling teeth to have them darken his coffee. When we finally got the order, it was the same wrong order that he tried to have fixed. Incredibly frustrating and we were not about to wait around for them to most likely keep messing the order up. Maybe just avoid this place. read more

Last time I will ever visit this location and mcdonalds. I tried to order food on the app at this location and it never wants to work. Sadly went inside the store to order and was rudely told to use a kiosk. Told them ok but I tried to add bacon to a big Mac but unable. Went to the counter again and same rude person told me I had to use the kiosk. Told them I tried but could not add bacon to a big Mac so you must help me. This person scoffed at me. Took my order and when I got my food I asked for ketchup and got 2 ketchup only for 2 combo orders. What the heck is going on. Someone was walking by and I asked that person if I can have some additional ketchups and I was told...NO I AM ON MY BREAK. At this point I asked for a manager and was told no one was available for me and again refused to give me additional ketchups. This location recently re-opened after a total rebuild. I was in the drive-thru this afternoon and noticed the employees locking the doors. The line was slow so I had plenty of time to watch customers attempting to enter the McDonald's. When I got around to pay, the cashier pretended not to know what I was talking about when I asked about the doors. The person handing me my food just kind of laughed and did the same. I stopped here 12/30 around 2pm and ordered two coffees in drivethru. The woman at the second window handed me a cup without the lid attached and it spilled all over me. She offered a seriously half hearted sorry and attached a new lid to the coffee that was half empty now. I was really surprised at the total failure of customer service especially given the drama mcdonalds has experienced with coffee getting spilled on laps. A four-star review for a chain restaurant = five stars for any other business. It's freakin' McDonald's, so the quality of the food kinda automatically results in the deduction of one star. Anyway, this location is just about the best one could expect for a Fortune 500 crap food company... Forget the food, let's talk amenities. There's an HDTV (which usually has CNN or ESPN on), lots of seating, free WiFi, a soda machine for free refills, a Playplace so the kids can go scream somwhere else, and believe it or not, a conference room. I don't know who would have the gaul these days to host a meeting at a McDonald's conference room, but I like the intestinal fortitude shown by whomever decided to put one in this location. I actually come here to get work done now and then. In fact, I generally prefer to come here over the often overcrowded Barnes & Noble coffee shop next door. read more

1.) Introduction (reiteration 2): When I do reviews on fast food places, I don't do them on the food, I do it on everything else. Unless the food here is really horrible then i'd post a review on it, but we all know what a place like this is all about. The food here is served in a certain timed, heated, portioned, with specific contents in each kind of fashion. Go to a McDonald's in Hartford, to one in California and you'll get the same kind of burger. Now if I were to compare the McDonald's burger to the McDonald's in Australia or the McDonald's in another foreign country then you'd definitely get a different taste. Not to mention the menus vary in every country. McDonald's in Indian is way different than the McDonald's in Kuwait, Japan, etc. 2.) Aesthetics: The thing I will remember with this place is the playscape. It is diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirty! Yuck, yuck, yuck! I don't even believe they clean this place. It is disgusting! And it's sad because children play here. And you gotta clean it because kids are dirty themselves. One kid stripped down to his boxers, and almost stripped down to his birthday suit. This was a 12 year old kid (who knows, probably younger, thanks to the hormones in the foods these days) and he was almost butt naked in front of a group of children ages 1 to 8. Yuck. And that was going on for at least a good 10 minutes before anyone intervened. 3.) Service: The cleanliness speaks for this kind of service.............negligent. The 635 Hartford Rd McD's in New Britain, CT is the worst McDonalds I've ever been to. If you order something here that is not a McDonalds mainstay - for instance, something besides the Big Mac or the McNuggets, they will ask you to pull over to the side somewhere. And then, it's not guaranteed that someone will actually ever come out with your order! And this is after you've paid for it. This has happened to me several times at this particular McD's. This is what results when the chain/franchise does not monitor the individual store owners. McDonald's wants to expand its menu - but the workers (and often the owner - especially in this case) don't want to produce or actually sell the newly added items on its menu. They view it as too much of a hassle. I gave McD's fictitious "order breakfast any time" promise a chance at this location via the drive-through. This was on a Sunday circa 3 pm. What a mistake. Of course, I was asked to pull over to the side. After 20 minutes of waiting, I got out of my vehicle, walked into the restaurant and went up to the counter. They denied ever taking my order and the girl at the window who took my order just ignored me - even when I said something to her. I ended up leaving with nothing - nada, zip zero. So good luck getting breakfast at McDonalds after 10:30 a.m. - especially at this one in New Britain. If you order a large fry here, there is a 50% chance that the large fry container will be half full. And if you don't stay on top of the situation, you'll get no ketchup or napkins. I've been through this too many times. When you look at the staff of this McDonald's you will see a bunch of kids who are often either texting or arguing with each other. I never see an adult or even anyone who appears to be a manager on hand. Unfortunately, this is the closest McDonalds to where I live. Maybe I should just quit fast food altogether. read more

Judging on McDonlads standards it is ok, The food was fine and hot. Ate breakfast here and stuck with the old standby Egg McMuffin. It is hard to get into this McDonalds if you are on the wrong side of the street and yet there is a lot of traffic in their parking lot. I hate McDonald's. That said I'm giving it 4 stars. Why? Because I received terrific service from "McDonald's" but terrible service from the "mcdonalds app". I drove to this location (at 4am but it's McDonald's in Connecticut) and I wanted food. I ended up getting it but not as fast as I wanted. Inevitably I was going at 4am so I didn't care how hungry I was. The manager or whoever spoke to me treated me with the upmost dignity and respect without knowing a thing about me. That right there is amazing service. If McDonald's "corporate" doesn't give that man a raise, I will never rate McDonald's a 5 star. The worst McDonald's I've ever been to. At first I thought it was just a one time mistake but they have messed up repeatedly. One time, I was the first in line to order and placed my order. I waited for my food for a little then noticed that everyone behind me was getting their food before me. I ask if my order is almost ready and they tell me they're waiting for another item to cook. I wait for a little longer to the point where I'm the only one left waiting for my order. Eventually after 10 minutes my order comes out with no apology. Another time, I order through the drive thru and get 2 McChickens, 1 Double Cheeseburger, chicken tenders and small fries. They tell me to pull over to the side because my chicken tenders will take a few more minutes. They come out with my food and I check the bag to make sure everything is in there. I only see one McChicken in the bag so I go into the restaurant and show them the receipt as well as the bag. They make a new sandwich and I get it without an apology. Thinking only one McChicken was missing, I drive home only to realize they also forgot the double cheeseburger. Repeated bad experiences here. read more
