I do lean more towards independently owned restaurants with their own character and flair but you can't get any more character and flair than a McDonald's modeled off a Pre World War 1 mansion. Well the franchise more or less claimed the once abandoned and dilapidated mansion but I digress. Coming here for the aestethic alone is worth it. The upper floor is inaccessible but the first floor is enough to house a moderately sized McDonald's. It may look out of the ordinary for a McDonald's spot but that's the point of thus location, it's supposed to stand out. This place also has a unique service that I don't think I've ever had from any other McDonald's. You can have your order served to you if you're planning on eating in. Something unique from Mickey D's other than Shake Shack and Chick Fil-A having food served to you as the norm. As for the food, it's standard fare. Mine was pretty good but nothing that you wouldn't expect from McDonald's. Maybe the fact that the food was orderly could be a plus, lol. The Big Mac isn't my favorite but they had the value meal of it for $8 so I had that along with the Gold McChicken sandwich which was pretty good. Everything was a solid $17 well spent. read more

Top tier mcdonalds in terms of cleaniness and large parking lot. Came on a weekday for breakfast and food and service was top notch. Wish they had a section for condiments. had to ask for any condiment. Overall large, feels like someone house that was retro fitted. I was attracted to this location because it sits in a historic building which was acquired by McDonald's in 1985 intending to demolish it to build a new structure. North Hempstead and residents of the New Hyde Park community sought historic designation and finally granted in 1988. This McDonald's location is store number 12000 at 2045 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park, New York. They serve the same menu as other locations. A shelf for mobile orders also stand visibly. The service staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean despite previous reviews saying it isn't so. It is also handy that each table is branded with a table number for mobile orders. There is lack of condiments, napkins and the like for customers in the open area, not even at the ordering counter. Trying to get attention was also low. The only interaction I was able to get was when my order was brought to my table. It is also sad that the upstairs section is blocked off. It would have made for a great view. It's supposedly only available for private parties and was usually busy on the weekends. Couldn't say that was true on the day of my visit. I am also saddened that the exterior of the building is not well kept despite this being designated as a historic landmark. Please do better. read more

Wow! I will never look at McDonald's the same! When we pulled in the parking lot it looked like we were going to some type of mansion I took a look around first when we walked in and I absolutely love this place! Who wouldn't want to eat here! Not only was it something to look at from every angle, but it was also very clean (including the bathrooms). There was someone walking around every few minutes to make sure that the dining room was up to part, I love that! We ordered a little bit of everything (from the kiosk and took a number). My number just so happened to be 15! My Birthday! Filet o fish and fries were nice and fresh! Cheeseburger and small fries were fresh as well! And my nuggets?! Crispy and hot! That's why I have this place 5 stars! Not only was our food perfect, but the service was also top tier as the person behind the register brings out your food according to your number. I was excited to eat here today with the kids. The outside is so beautiful, but the inside is a madhouse. This place is messy and dirty! THIS PLACE STINKS!!!! The lady servicing the drive thru window today June 10th 2025, in the morning at 7am who cannot speak English at all, is one of the worst people in customer service ever!! If you're going to eat McDonald's, you might as well do it in a mansion. I've driven by the McDonald's Mansion a few times over the years and finally decided to stop by and eat in. It's an old converted house, complete with glass rotunda, bay windows, and an upstairs balcony area that's unfortunately roped off and just for parties. Theres a framed photo of the original estate, along with a plaque with some of the details. There's a ton of wood and columns with plenty of seating all around. There's a 24 hour drive through, but if you're coming here, I say eat inside. The food is standard with no specials or anything, and the service is too. If you plan to go to McDonald's in Long Island, go to this place! Service and food are pretty standard however, the location, the exterior, the seating inside and views from the windows definitely stand out. The building has a long standing history which you can read about on the photo frames of the wall. This is a renovated mansion and I like how it makes me feel like I'm dining at a nice restaurant but eating Mc nuggets. Location is a 5 star for sure! But some tables were not cleaned up very well so, we had to clean it a bit more before sitting down. read more

We don't typically order Mickey D's but had a nostalgia attack remembering road trips in the 90's where we'd share a 20 nuggie pack while driving. Ordered one here because we saw the special "Ronald McDonald" house livery when we drove past. Ordered on the app and walked in to pick up our order because we wanted to see what the inside looked like. They said "absolutely no can do" drive up only. We got back into our car, drove around the corner to the drive through, which had about 6 cars. Our turn, we said "ST48", they said "FT68"? We said "Frank Thomas four eight", they said "huh, what?". A few more rounds of back and forth then, "drive up to the first window". "ST48?", we don't have that order. Showed them my phone and the paid confirmation email, then "oh, that order". 30 minutes, 20 nuggets. No need to post pix of a box of nuggies, they're probably the same everywhere. Here for 10+ years unfortunately every single time without fail they forget to give me ranch dressing or dressing ordered. When I ask them for it after checking they make me feel like I did something wrong. I know it seems minimal and annoying that I'm even making a yelp review about this, but when I order food for my friends and family, and there are no dressings in my order, it becomes disappointing. The manager and the rude employee denied me access with a service dog after indicating several times I have my id while my dog sat by myside. Built in the late 1920s, the beautiful McMansion had its 1st Yelp review 14 years ago.. This colonial style building is especially charming outside and has 2 floors of seating including a double staircases. McWedding anyone? It is McDonald's Restaurant #12000 as per the receipt. Apparently the landmark commission wouldn't allow McD to tear down this historic home. So it remains. An old photo by the cashiers says it was owned by the Denton Estate (like the namesake Denton Ave road). There are a few steps to walk into and out of the level where the kiosks and counter are to order, pay & pickup. Whole place feels roomy and clean, though the interior dark wall color seems too dark and stark for such a historic building. Love the round room with the glass walls and the bay windows. I saw an advertisement touting McDonald's Breakfast sandwiches. On 6/30/24, I decided to get one at my local restaurant. Although the restaurant is a former mansion, the service I received was DISGRACEFUL!!! I attempted to utilize the McDonald's app. I kept getting messages that the item I ordered was unavailable at this time (breakfast item at 7:00 AM.) After I made a few attempts, my credit card company texted me, suspecting fraud. I was charged for my meal approximately ten times. I decided to go into the restaurant for assistance. When I entered the restaurant, NO employees were stationed at the cash registers. I attempted to speak to the employees in the food prep area. NOT ONE OF THEM SPOKE ENGLISH!!! I finally ordered my meal at the lobby kiosk. I wrote an email detailing the indifferent and unprofessional service that I received at this particular McDonald's. I received an email from Samantha Fleming, a customer service representative for McDonald's #12000. In her response, Representative Fleming conceded that the McDonald's app was not working at the restaurant when I tried to patronize it. Her response then included a lot of corporate propaganda about the benefits of using the McDonald's app. Not one word about the cash registers not being staffed or the lack of English-speaking employees to assist me. I wrote back to Representative Fleming requesting that my account be credited with the points I missed because I could not order with the McDonald's app for my purchase. I NEVER heard back from her!!! So, I will NOT purchase anything from this McDonald's restaurant (#12000) again!!! I will also be deleting my McDonald's app. Fortunately, there are many delis, diners, and other fast food restaurants in my area to purchase my breakfast. This McMansion is pretty clean. My DisBestie, Boocow, and I came here after a late-night errand run. She got herself a delicious Filet-O-fish meal with iced tea, which in her words were "questionably delicious". As for me, I redeemed my rewards for a large mocha McCafe frappe, with three espresso shots (yes, 3) to stretch my rewards milage (only drank half, as it was after 10pm). My frappe was made to order, and --surprisingly--the taste rivaled that of its competitor, the 'Bucks. Housekeeping staff ---which is what I would call them being at THE Mansion-- seem to be quite efficient, cleaning off every area in sections and blocking it off so it would stay clean for the night. The kiosks in the front worked for selecting your meals---up until you had to "get a tent number". The problem was there were no tents left on the stand (I guess the staff put the tents away after a certain hour at night, but don't tell the customers coming in?). Luckily, I used my app to order, which was also questionable if that made ordering food faster or not. I'd give this 3.5 stars, the rounding up comes from the ambiance (if you can call it that). Despite the hiccups, I'd consider coming here again, especially since I can chat with a friend late at night in a noshing nook where no one would bother us. read more

The McMansion.....I'm lovin' it. Me and my friend Jeff often go here for some high quality food. The prices are steep and the coupons kinda stink, but hey if we got money to spend, this is where we go. The soda is always fresh. The fries are always hot, unless 2 times ago when mine were lukewarm. But I don't hold it against anybody....nobody is perfect and if they say they are, it means that they are lying, and nobody likes liars. But I digress. The food great. The Egg McMuffins are to die for. So good and easy and the egg is fresh. The Managers run a tight ship here. Once Jeff ordered, "I want like a #2, 2 Cheeseburgers." And the cashier rang it up for 2 orders of the #2 meal. Jeff just paid, didn't do the math that like $17 or $18 is too much for a meal. But hey, he always struggled with academics. Believe me, the school struggles now transferred to the workplace. When we got the order, Jeff noticed the mistake. And boy, did the manager throw a fit when we complained! My sister sent me this location on IG.. I drove 50 mins to be exact to take my family. I thought it would be a nice lunch to my suprise the manager was rude. My grandson has allergies and we were asking simply questions. The cashier was asking her if the nuggets had dairy and she just continued to walk away speaking in Spanish saying tell them I don't and that's it. This happened August 7, 2022 @ 2:40pm. Mcdonalds need to educated their workers on how to better reply to questions about allergies and not to walk away while questions are being asked!!
