Such a great spot! The food was delicious, they have amazing vegan options, and the coffee was exceptional. I also absolutely loved the unique, witchy decor and cozy atmosphere--it makes the whole experience so fun and memorable. Definitely a must-visit in West Hempstead!

Good food and good service. Prices are a bit steep, especially being cash only, but the witchy vibes and tasty food makes it a spot worth visiting at least once. Do note, the food is either vegan or vegetarian. There are options with dairy but nothing with meat (just meat substitutes). As I said before, it is CASH ONLY. Go with this in mind and avoid any awkward issues!

Festive Halloween decorations as you walk in

VIBES I've been going to the Witches Brew since about 2008 and it's still one of my favorite cozy spots. The decor is spooky and a little eclectic. While during the day you can see the fun mixed and matched vintage furniture, at night their warm string lights make for the coziest ambiance. It's especially perfect during the Halloween season. One thing that I noticed from our most recent visit on a Friday evening is there were a good amount of families with kids and even babies. It might be quieter to go at a different time like I have in the past. Funny enough, it's probably all the people like me who used to come here in our high school days. SERVICE They get super busy and have implemented a virtual waiting list system that you can find via a link on their Instagram. It'll notify you when you're next and gives you 10 minutes to get back there. Honestly, easy nicer than waiting in a line outside in the cold! They've also always had super nice servers that regardless of time have the same friendly chill vibes. FOOD My favorite thing to get here is one of their special coffee flavors. They have a huge assortment with fun spooky names. I love picking one with a marshmallow flavor base. Might be called Midnight. They also have a huge adjustment of loose leaf teas that they serve in cast iron tea pots. These drinks pair perfectly with their desserts. My favorite things to get from them is a warm cinnamon bun a la mode. For their savory food it should be noted that the whole menu is vegetarian/vegan friendly. Something we ALWAYS get is their focaccia which is warm and cheesy. Their artichoke dip with nachos is excellent and my husband enjoyed his falafel sandwich with fries.

What a fu cozy themed place. Enjoyed my time there. A lot of different types of coffee teas and desserts. I would come back again

This place is disappointing. Came here for some desserts since I was craving something sweet but it was overpriced and nasty. There's not much options in long island. Thought it was gonna be decent with all the reviews this place has but it's terrible. Got two items. Carrot cake and some apple pie. Not good at all. Maybe it's good if you've never been to the city or lived in any other big city. This place would go out of business in NYC. The worst thing about this place is they charge a service fee for take out. Does not sound legal at all. Would not come back and would not recommend.

Came in day after Halloween with a friend visiting from out of town. First off the waiting list is no joke, it was about 2 hrs (I was placed on waiting list from my couch and it gives you a very accurate breakdown on your place in line). Once we were called inside, they verified my reservation and we were seated immediately. The decor !!!! Oooohhh la la like out of a really funky cool Halloween book. 10/10 for decor. We started out with hibiscus ginger tea with honey. Yum!!!! Appetizers were Mac n cheese and samosas. Main meals were "chicken" sandwich and falafel. For dessert a pumpkin square to go (forgot to take a photo sorry). Literally everything was delicious which is rare. Full of flavor, good serving size for the price, great service from the staff and very creative menu. I would definitely go back. The wait was worth it for the experience

Stopped in for the first time in a long time and was greeted by a familiar menu with still solid dessert options. The frozen hot chocolate hit the spot even on a cold winter's night, and the vegan smore was incredible. Always a wait, but it's worth it for some delicious after dinner treats!

Forgot to review this gem when I went 3 weeks ago on Halloween day! Such a cute spot! Everyone was dressed up for Halloween. All vegan spot which was very interesting. I don't normally go but the Halloween theme brought me in here. I wasn't a big fan of the buffalo cauliflower because it was spicy but the gnocchi was great. I definitely enjoyed my dessert and drink! Staff were great and very accommodating. Will return :)

I've been a customer to Witches Brew for years. This is a good option for a late night dessert especially to converse and hang out. The decor and menu likely attracts more teens/college students/young adults. I really like that they have an extensive menu and they have options for those who are plant based/vegan. I ordered the hot chocolate and there was nothing special about it at all! It tasted like it was chocolate syrup and water mixed together which disappointed me because dessert places usually put more effort into their drinks. I would give it a 1/5 :( I was pleasantly surprised by the nachos we ordered as they were really good for a quick dessert bite and quite filling for two people to share. After we ordered the nachos we split the apple pie a la mode and it was a great mix of hot and cold. The pie is a great example for a standard pie and is a great option if you're unsure what to get and aren't feeling super adventurous. Witches Brew is not the best when I think of really great dessert but I think it provides a fun/spooky ambiance, has options for everyone and is nice for small groups. If you visit I would suggest making a reservation in advance as they are often busy!

Super fun and cute hidden gem! They don't take reservations and it could be a crazy wait (online it said THREE hours- but we ended up getting in earlier than that). They have a wide variety of teas, food, etc. everything was great, especially the tea and the cheesecake. CASH ONLY!

First time visit, recommended by friends. Parking was easy: on street in front or residential parking is around the corner. We ordered: Nacho ( fresh ingredients. Recommend) Mac and cheese ( definitely will order again) Soft pretzels ( soft and moist ) Greek salad ( fresh!) Burritos teriyaki with fries ( it was ok) Pumpkin pie ( rich pumpkin taste) NY cheesecake ( yum! ) Pro: - very cute design. Halloween all year round. - great friendly staff. - didn't think food can be so delicious without meat. We enjoyed it especially the homemade mac and cheese. Definitely star of the meal. Fresh ingredients. Con: - CASH ONLY!!! ATM onsite. -lighting was dim. I had sone difficulty reading the menu or seeing what's on my nachos. But my eyesight is not the best to start with. - Table was small for a real dinner meal for - It's designed to be a coffee table only. However, the experienced staff brought in a small table next to us without us asking. - least favorite of the night has been the fries. They don't seem too fresh. Little soggy to taste. - super busy on weekends in October. Waiter said weekdays and other months are no problem. If you are planning to go on October weekends, make sure you reserve online. My wait was 2.5 hours online. Sometimes the reservation line closed when the waiting time goes beyond 3 hours. Then you just have to keep checking. It may open on and off again if someone cancel. Overall. It's a great restaurant. My family including a 10 and 13 years old enjoy it. You can see the effort put in by the owner to create such ambience. We sat comfortably and enjoyed our meal. -

Witches brew is always a hit for me. It's great for catching up with friends, a first date, or just to be alone and unwind. Key things to remember: to make a reservation you must do so on google.com and then Google the witches brew, when I tried to do it via Safari it did not work. The second thing is that it is cash only they do have an ATM just in case you forget. Parking can be very annoying so just be aware of that. The menu is a large variety ranging from vegetarian to vegan options and the food is good! The drink selection is huge ranging from coffee, espresso, tea, to soda's. The desserts are very good as well. I usually get the voodoo iced or hot :) The vibes are very relaxed and cozy. It's a great atmosphere to take pictures. The staff is friendly and as attentive as they can be seeing that they do get quite busy. Always will come back

Witches Brew serves vegan food and has tons of options for coffee, tea and drinks! Other items in their menu include appetizers, mains, salad, sandwiches and, of course, dessert. The decor is vintage and the interior is very different from a typical coffee house. The vibes work best if you're visiting in the evenings. I went there with my friend and she got the Mac n Cheese (not pictured), Vegan Brownie with Ice Cream and Green Tea. I got the Crème Brûlée (around $10) and the Pink Angel, which was an Iced Coffee with Strawberry-Vanilla flavors (around $8). Crème Brûlée is my absolute go-to and it tasted great here! Please also be mindful that this is a cash only place!

Visit Date: January 20, 2026…read more I got the LI cafe passport book from my co-worker for Christmas. In January I got to go to two coffee shops in this book, for five was the second one. I went with one of my friends. We both had the mochas and I had a shot of espresso because the book recommended it. The espresso was good, not overly bitter, pretty much just right. The mocha was amazing a good ratio of chocolate, coffee and espresso. It was pretty busy here and the atmosphere was nice. The snacks looked really good maybe one day I'll go back for a pastry. I give for five five stars and five beans and would recommend coming here if you like coffee shops.

The elitist attitude continued throughout the transaction; she couldn't be bothered to tell me which beans she was using, and once the coffee was finished, she didn't even acknowledge me or announce that the drink was ready. It's a shame when a shop's "gatekeeping" attitude ruins the experience. There is no excuse for treating customers with that much contempt. I won't be returning to a place that makes me feel like an inconvenience for ordering a coffee.

However it's said, an easy statement would be that it's quite tasty and for sure a good location to check out, which is what I did with my mother last week. Walking up and into Tatte might give you some retro NYC vibes, but the place actually originated outside of the Empire State. You'd never know because the white-tiled look definitely feels like something classy and Manhattan-originated. Luckily, the pricing isn't necessarily city level as Tatte has a large menu of baked goods, actual meal options, and coffee choices all at around what you'd probably expect to pay for a place like this. The setup when first ordering is a little chaotic if there are a lot of people figuring out what to get between menu viewing and the glass case of premade baked items, but once you do get your order going you can find a table and sit with your number while you wait for your goods. For me, I got my coffee right away as it was a cold brew that was able to be made there. Twas a special at the time, an orange blossom vanilla cold foam cold brew. Was it unique? For sure. Did it entirely land? Not sure. I did try a sip of my mother's caramel latte and that seemed pretty legit. What was also legit was the grub. We each ordered a halloumi sunny-side breakfast sandwich which was delicious (though a tad more halloumi would've been perfection). Close to perfection as well was the pistachio croissant we shared. I definitely see the level of quality coming through in a spot like this. Overall, Tatte has some solid aspects working for it with plenty to love. Coffee seemed quality, food was fantastic, and the setup was great, though the blasting 80s music, despite totally in my wheelhouse, might have thrown the vibes off a tad. Either way, Tatte has what you're looking for, though personally, Garden City is a little far for me to get to these days. If Tatte does ever expand out east, you know I'll be pronouncing that name very often.
