Long overdue visit to WBCH today with my partner, and it was everything I hoped for. We only got hot drinks - a delicious hot Black Cat with lots of peanut butter, not too sweet, and my partner loved his hot Black Magic - but we are determined to come back soon to try their desserts and lunch items too. I used to love this place, but after our last experience, I'm extremely disappointed. We were told to put our name on the waiting list, which was already about an hour. VIBES I've been going to the Witches Brew since about 2008 and it's still one of my favorite cozy spots. The decor is spooky and a little eclectic. One thing that I noticed from our most recent visit on a Friday evening is there were a good amount of families with kids and even babies. It might be quieter to go at a different time like I have in the past. Funny enough, it's probably all the people like me who used to come here in our high school days. SERVICE They get super busy and have implemented a virtual waiting list system that you can find via a link on their Instagram. It'll notify you when you're next and gives you 10 minutes to get back there. Honestly, easy nicer than waiting in a line outside in the cold! They've also always had super nice servers that regardless of time have the same friendly chill vibes. FOOD My favorite thing to get here is one of their special coffee flavors. They have a huge assortment with fun spooky names. I love picking one with a marshmallow flavor base. Might be called Midnight. They also have a huge adjustment of loose leaf teas that they serve in cast iron tea pots. These drinks pair perfectly with their desserts. I've been a customer to Witches Brew for years. This is a good option for a late night dessert especially to converse and hang out. The decor and menu likely attracts more teens/college students/young adults. I really like that they have an extensive menu and they have options for those who are plant based/vegan. I ordered the hot chocolate and there was nothing special about it at all! It tasted like it was chocolate syrup and water mixed together which disappointed me because dessert places usually put more effort into their drinks. I would give it a 1/5 :( I was pleasantly surprised by the nachos we ordered as they were really good for a quick dessert bite and quite filling for two people to share. After we ordered the nachos we split the apple pie a la mode and it was a great mix of hot and cold. The pie is a great example for a standard pie and is a great option if you're unsure what to get and aren't feeling super adventurous. Witches Brew is not the best when I think of really great dessert but I think it provides a fun/spooky ambiance, has options for everyone and is nice for small groups. Key things to remember: to make a reservation you must do so on google.com and then Google the witches brew, when I tried to do it via Safari it did not work. The second thing is that it is cash only they do have an ATM just in case you forget. Parking can be very annoying so just be aware of that. The menu is a large variety ranging from vegetarian to vegan options and the food is good! The drink selection is huge ranging from coffee, espresso, tea, to soda's. Second visit to witches brew. Let's start here. Street parking only, one bathroom (usually a line), cash only (atm inside), all vegetarian menu. Went on a Sunday at about 3. Street parking was okay. Got in and we decided to sit on a couch rather than a traditional table. For eating normal meal, it isn't ideal but some small appetizers or drinks, it's perfect. The place quickly filled up. The place itself is super unique, very antique atmosphere. We ordered potato's (good but nothing special) and some coffees (outstanding) off their menu. These things came out rather quickly. We wanted to order a little more and our server was all over the place. I got the macaroni, which was nice but I felt like it was a little underwhelming. He got the Korean fried "chicken", both of us have never tried a chicken substitute & we both were very pleased by this! Overall, food is good! Not outstanding. But a blessing for vegetarians. We ended up waiting a half hour for our check & I then got up and asked for it. The cutest restaurant ever; from the decor to the chaotic menu. We got the mac and cheese, fried chicken sandwich, Brussels sprouts, crème brûlée, apple cheesecake, and buffalo califlower. The must is definitely the mac and cheese as well as crème brûlée, and cheesecakes. The mac and cheese was cheesy with a good amount of pull and each shell was ooey gooey. The cheese cake was perfect with the apple to balance its flavors. Crème brûlée was less sweet and good for people who don't like sweets that much. Buffalo califlower taste exactly like its name. The Brussels sprouts were a tad bitter with a bit too much glaze but steamed well. The Korean fried chicken sandwich was thick but well balanced with cucumber and onions with a good glaze. First off, their menu is literally six pages long, they have so so so many drinks to choose from! I got an earl gray tea and it was great, just needed some honey. It is a little pricey I will say, but its worth it. The spinach and artichoke dip was so delicious and the actually dip came in a witches pot. The ambience is so cute and I love their decorations.
