Stopped by Melt Shop in Roosevelt Field Mall for a quick lunch, and it hit the spot for what it is. Greasy, indulgent comfort food that puts a smile on your face. I ordered the buffalo crispy chicken tenders with a side order of fries. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the fries were well seasoned and crispy too. Can't go wrong with it. Nutella milkshake was also very yummy. I'm a big fan of the spread so it's nice to try it in a milkshake form. I did also order a chipotle chicken salad but they went a bit too heavy on the cheese which overpowered the salad in my opinion. I will try it next time without the cheese. The place is in the food court, so it's casual and loud. There is usually more seating but since came the weekend before Christmas, it was a mission to find an open seat. Service was quick even during a busy afternoon, and the staff was friendly. Portions are generous for the price, though yeah, it's a bit on the pricier side for mall food. Every time I walk by the Melt Shop in the Roosevelt Field Mall food court, I was always curious, so I finally caved and decided to try it. Ordered the: Buffalo wrap ($9.49) - The wrap is cut in half and has a decent amount of chicken, but the problem was one half had most of the chicken and the other half had most of the salad. Did not realize until I finished one half. There was a decent about of sauce, but there was very little buffalo flavor. Original Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($9.69) - The chicken patty was on the small size and it was not crispy. The toppings made the sandwhich. Herb Parmesan Fries ($4.79) - Fries were mediocre. I've tried this place many times & I have to say, it's actually pretty decent. Just wish they would bring back the wings~ they're so good. Service isn't the best but what do you expect from a mall food court. My daughter really likes their grilled cheese~ it's made perfectly with the right amount of cheese & the bread is toasted well. Went to the Roosevelt Field mall with my son and of course he was hungry. He picked Melt Shop for lunch. We both got the Shop Bacon Cheeseburger and shared an order of loaded fries. The burger was cooked to medium rare and was nice and juicy. The pressed bun was a nice touch. The fries had peppers, jalapeños and cheese. Cooked beautifully and delicious. Service was efficient. There are kiosks to order food or you can order with the cashier. Since there was a line of people ordering at the kiosks, I ordered with the cashier. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Chicken Melts and Shop Tots. The Buffalo Chicken Chicken Melts has Fried Chicken, Pepper Jack & Buffalo Sauce on Country White. Shop Tots is herbed parmesan on tater tots. The chicken melt was really moist and tasty. The tater tots had a good portion of herbed parmesan and would recommend. It took a little while to get the food, but the food was worth the wait. The buffalo chicken melt was $9.99 and the shop tots were $4.09. After tax, it was $15.29 for both these items. read more

Flavor wise, the spiciness wasn't quite there. This could have been easily passed off as a "seasoned" fried chicken sandwich. It was good, but not really outstanding in any way, other than size. Hmm. I don't even know where to begin. I've been to the other location at Smith Haven Mall, and had a much better experience. To start, the cashier was very rude. Anyway, I ordered a 4 piece tender basket with fries. I asked if my fries could be the herb parm fries as on the menu there wasn't any price difference. The cashier tells me it can't be done, not even for an upcharge. She told me that in order to get the parm fries I would have to order the tenders and fries separately. It still makes no sense to me today as I'm typing this review. While waiting for my food, I was waiting with at least 20 other people. They are so unorganized here it's unbelievable. People that ordered their food after me got their food. I waited and waited. It was not worth the wait at all. Every time I picked up a tender the thick, greasy and oily breading fell right off in my hands. I didn't even have chicken tenders as ALL of the breading fell off every time I picked it up. Now the fries weren't good either. Wasn't even worth it one bit. A huge waste of money. Wasn't worth one cent of that I spent. It's always hard to choose what to eat especially when you're in Roosevelt Field Mall and there's many places to choose from. That said I wanted to try the Melt Shop. I ordered a Burger Melt and waited a long time for it as others got their food orders quickly. I know why my order took longer than the others.. This exquisite taste the onion's and cheese combined with pickles made this a mouthwatering meal. And to top that the staff here is so cool and personable from Tanajia whom I ordered from to Mohan who assisted to Michell who finally brought me my order. I've seen your location at Terminal 4 JFK for some time now, but didn't have time to try it. Today, I decided to give it a go when I was at Roosevelt Field Mall in Nassau County, NY. Absolutely awful in all areas. You had two total people working the entire establishment. I ordered at a kiosk, and it took my order almost 20 mins to be finished and handed to me. I don't blame your employees, they're overworked (and surely underpaid). I ordered your "Biggie Crispy Chicken", which is listed on my receipt as $12.99. What I don't understand is what I get for $12.99. There was an upcharge for every single option I selected (other than the bread) INCLUDING the "crispy chicken" (at $2.99). So what's the $12.99? Is that the price for the option to buy a sandwich? I don't get it. As a side, I ordered "Naked Tots" which were exactly as described. When my order was handed to me, I asked for salt, and was told "no" and that there was none available. I also asked for a cup of water, and was told there was no water (you had a fridge full of Poland Spring in full view, which I'm sure is at least $3 or $4 a bottle). I'm sure the law that used to require restaurants to provide water, free of charge, has been erased long ago by lobbyists, or you guys probably have some fast food loophole. The sandwich was somewhat tasty, but considering the price, the chicken portion was a joke. Basically one small breast filet, cut in half. Cheese sauce had good flavor but I was basically eating cheesy bread, being that the chicken barely fills the inside of the melt. My tater tots were luke warm, saltless, and therefore flavorless. So there's my review/feedback. I guess this makes me a "Karen". Shame on you and your investors for such a disgusting money grab. My order came out to a whopping $26.44 for TWO items that both fell infinitely short of even the most basic expectations. I understand it's fast food, and I understand inflation, but to charge this price, for this product, is pathetic. And to boot, you put these two helpless, minimum wage employees on your front line, so if anyone is upset at being robbed by Melt Shop, they have to take (or not take) the brunt of your customers frustrations. It's a huge mall and they have a lot of good food options but I ended up going to Melt Shop. I've been wanting to go here for a while and I got a Burger Melt with Wagyu Beef and American Cheddar. Grabbed some food here during a mall run at Roosevelt Field. We ordered the Mike's Honey Hot Chicken, Toasted Burger Melt, cheesy tots and loaded tots. We also tried the strawberry guava drink and lemonade. Our first time trying them and boy was it underwhelming. None of us (me, partner and toddler) enjoyed our food. The Mike's honey hot chicken was just literally just chicken with honey on it. Flavor came from the honey which was not much. The toasted burger melt wasn't really toasted and was bland. Taste was lacking on both. Now the real shocker was the cheesy tots and loaded tots. If you thought this included cheese like I did- it did not. It appears to be some " cheese" like product/paste. We didn't feel like experimenting with whatever this yellow paste was + it just looked super gross. We tried scraping it off but that didn't work either. Patties were hot off with the melted cheese and semi crisp bacon. Can never go wrong with a side of tots. The milkshake on the other hand, was a bit of a venture with Mike's hot honey sauce inside. I think they added way too much salt in the batter. The Chipotle Chicken Melt was pretty good, perfect to my taste.. had a nice Chipotle Mayo sauce, avocado & tomato slices. Overall, pretty satisfied with our meal. They also have a nice little station setup on the side at the pickup window with napkins, plastic forks, spoons, knives, ketchup & Mayo packets, etc all neatly organized in one corner. The strawberry shake tastes loaded with artificial-sweetener. Fries are ok. Paid about $23 for this meal and waited for 20 minutes. I got the burger melt during a busy Labor Day weekend at Roosevelt Field Mall. I thought it was really good at first bite but there was too much oil seeping out of the sandwich with every subsequent bite. It was basically a grilled cheese with some burger in it. The pickles overpowered the taste of the sandwich and most of them fell out before I could eat the second half. Overall, a 5/10 type of sandwich.
