I came into this McDonalds for fast service, which is what they are known for. But here, apparently that is not an option. The cashier walks away from the register and leaves a line of people just standing waiting to order. Finally when the manager comes up she just stares at us, until it dawns on her... there is a line of people. Finally she takes our order and the wait continues. 20 minutes from start to finish. I normally don't go out of my way to bash a business on Yelp, but this particular McDonald's location was really asking for it. First off, yes, it's right off the freeway. However, it's behind Chevron (coming from the 15N offramp) and difficult to spot. I saw a neighboring Jack In the Box before spying this Mickey D's. Perhaps we should've eaten there instead. Anyways, after waiting a while in the drive thru queue (which reeked of public restroom intermingled with the pungent aroma of Norco air) we placed our order. Oh, Ronald McDonald, how do I loathe the? Let me list the ways... Mistake #1: they failed to ask if my Happy Meal orders were for boys or girls. My daughter received a toy intended for a boy and was immediately made UNhappy. FAIL! Mistake #2: I requested iced tea (which almost every fast food employee knows is a request for unsweetened tea). The worker who took my order even made a note of it on the receipt as "unsweetened tea." So, what did I receive? Sweet tea, which was extremely over-sweetened, by the way. Mistake #3: The peppermint hot chocolate I ordered was basically mint-flavored milk with a bit of chocolate sludge at the bottom. WTF? If I order hot chocolate, that $#!+ had better be chocolaty first and minty second, b!+$#! Mistake #4: How the f*$% are we supposed to drink six beverages with four straws?! Granted, one drink was the sh*tty peppermint hot chocolate and had a lid made for sipping. But still! Doesn't McDonald's HR department at least check to see if their employees can perform simple math tasks? Six drinks? Six straws, dudes! Ughhh!!! Mistake #5: Not a single napkin to be found in our two paper bags nor our two Happy Meal boxes. WHAT. THE. FRACK.?! We inhabit the U.S. of frickin' A. for goodness sake! Napkins to go along with our meals is practically a part of our U.S. Constitution! Avoid going to this store if you can help it. Not only does the owner NOT turn the AC on for the employees, the ice cream machine is never running because "it is too hot". False advertising for a store to offer goods they cannot deliver on. It's summer, and this heat is a health hazard to the employees, but he doesn't seem to care. The public would like ice cream or shakes that the franchise offers, but this one never does. Take the time to exit to Hidden Valley. The staff is well taken care of and their machine always works. This morning my family and I went through the drive through and order breakfast(ovi). The person who took our order was very patient and nice. When we got to the second window to get our food a women (who seemed to be the manager (assuming bc of the uniform)) handed us our food. My dad asked for creamers for the coffee and 2 cups of water at the window. We understand there is a system but we simply forgot to order it initially. This lady said in a very defensive/aggressive tone that we should have ordered it at the window. (1: the young man did not ask about how many creamers/sugars & my dad forgot to order / 2. Keep in mind we were the only ones in the drive thru). My dad ask if there was a problem so she further stated that there is a system when ordering a drink but we are lucky that it was really slow otherwise we would have waited in the same tone.... it was a weird way to start the morning. I normally wouldn't find visiting a McDonald's as an eventful enough place to write about, but this location was especially bad. I came here because I wanted a quick and easy meal so that I could go right back to studying, and this was the closest restaurant to me. Our interaction was many things, but definitely neither "quick" nor "easy." The person at the window wasn't very polite, and it was pretty evident that he had an "I hate my job" type of attitude. Also, the drive-thru line was incredibly slow, there weren't that many cars in front of us (about 3), and we took over 25 minutes to get through and receive our food. I'm accustomed to waiting that long at a sit-down restaurant, but definitely not at a "fast food" restaurant drive-thru. On top of that, they weren't very generous with their sauces, and also didn't add some of the sauces that we requested. It was a pretty disappointing visit, and I won't be coming here again. read more
