It's a clean McD's and good customer service. Easy to park and go in (did not bother with the drive thru)- I'm happy that it was easily accessible to the road. A diet coke to go and I was all set! To be honest, fast food industry has constant turn around. That being said, quality training is essential. We have serviced this particular MD's for 5 years. The service has declined recently and is suspect, long waiting and incomplete orders. On 10/28/23 the workers appeared short staffed (possibly) -all were in a rush. Noteworthy: 2 workers were on a break instead of getting in line to order, as observed in other MD's, these 2 ladies stood at register while customers were in line & yelled their orders to work mates- very inconsiderate and rude, and against company policy I believe. Granted now I'm a "baby boomer"- so greatly experienced in proper customer service and etiquette- it truly is lacking here at this MD's. Oh I just remembered INCOMPLETE order! On 1/13 @ 10:55 AM our party of 4 ordered- once again a long waut (understandable), however why does this franchise do this: call for your order number BUT IT'S INCOMPLETE- you go to table wait return to ask for coffees & wait again- oh my order was 2 senior coffees 1 apple pie & 1 breakfast homefrie!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Since I last posted about this location, it has drastically improved with its customer service - I mean, the lines are now painfully long, but at least customers aren't being served by people who have even worse attitudes. Regardless, what's with the prices - some which have increased nearly 150% in a year? A McDouble (2 hamburger patties and a single slice of cheese - originally done to allow it to sell on the $1.00 menu) is now $2.79? A large soda, which used to be $1.00 is now $1.79? So, a diet soda and a McDouble which used to cost $2 now costs $4.58 ($4.90 with tax)? And, while I'm at it... Hamburger $1.00 - Cheeseburger $1.70 Seriously, $.70 for a single slice of cheese? Also, Hamburger $1.00 - Double Hamburger $2.20 So, if a customer orders 2 hamburgers and throws out everything on the second burger except the patty, they SAVE $.20? If this franchisee expects to raise prices and not face a drop off in demand, then perhaps he/she should visit the Siesta Key MacDonalds (6347 S Tamiami Trl, Sarasota) location where the quality is 10x better than anywhere in North Port or Port Charlotte - if only to learn how to make a product people for which customers are happy to pay more money. read more

The food was cold. The woman taking orders was rude and when she asked if we wanted fries or apples with my kid's' happy meals, she said that we could have either one or the other as opposed to both which is what most McDonald's will offer. When we pulled around, she told us that we could have had both, making it seem like we were in the wrong. Not that big of a deal, but the icing on the cake was the fact that they couldn't give us the two drinks that we ordered, they just asked us to pull up and wait, which we did alongside 5 other cars. I don't know what has been going on with food service lately but they mostly suck. This is by far the biggest complaint I have with fast food and it's a shame. Now I avoid this specific McDonald's cause the last two times I've gotten nausea and diarrhea. Couldn't really prove it was from then the first time. Second time maybe odd coincidence. Wife was out and I was craving a Big Mac. She swung by and grabbed me one. Usually only eat those and quarter pounders when I do rarely eat McDonald's. Low and behold same symptoms. After it started I found out she bought it all, once again, at this location on Sumter and price. Hire people who know serve safe guidelines cause this is no longer just a coincidence. read more

Pros: Most staff are friendly. Food delivery is quick. Burgers taste more freshly cooked than before. Cons: French fries we got were generally tiny, many less than an inch long. Must have been given the leftover bits from the bottom of the fryer. Crazy. Not many choices of soft drinks here, just a few standards. Quarter pounder seemed skimpy and the bun was very dry and flavorless. Can't figure out why since this location is always busy, which should make for a fast use of buns. Maybe McD's has changed bun suppliers. read more

Negative -5 starts! This particular McDonalds is the worst one in the United States. Don't go at night because they cook the food and let it sit there forever and serve you cold stale fries. The cheeseburgers are cold and hard like a hockey puck. They think cooking everything ahead of time when they have no customers is the way to go. These idiots don't care if the food sits and get cold and hard and stale. They only care about getting the food out in 2 seconds. I would rather wait an hour than get cold food that has been sitting in a bucket and fries that sit on a tray waiting for customers instead of making food when customers come. If your gonna pre cook the food and hope customers come then you might as well serve it frozen so I can cook it when I get home. It's No-Wonder why this location isn't busy at night. we have to drive way down to the location on 41 that is 24hours in port charlotte because they are always hot and fresh! Went through and got two happy meals, specifically ask for the Pokémon cards to be the toy, and they gave me some crappy plastic toy. They are making money off the Pokémon brand and pretty much refusing to sell the cards. Won't even let you buy them separately. I worked at McDonald's as a teenager. Fast mobile order system in place! I'm impressed with the very fast service. The staff were courteous and polite. Gave us an easy instruction on how to use our mobile device to order. There was a long car queue as it was lunchtime when we went. They have a modern set up. You can get help right away if you need one just ask by the counter for help to order using the mobile app or the wide touch screen monitor also. There's an on going construction next to this McDonald's branch by their parking lot. You can order double fish sandwich for $1.07!!!! That's the great part of my visit. Not only is this mcondalds staff very attentive to customers, I enjoyed being waited on and served unlike other McDonald's US regions. The fries were a bit cold but the food was served quickly and the burgers tasted fresh and were cooked thoroughly. In addition, there seems to constantly be a staff member cleaning tables and clearing trash so the tables are always clean (as are the washrooms). read more

Fastest drive thru in town! Their food is always prepared very well and the employees and are always polite. You can tell the manager takes pride in running a good fast food joint. My orders are always correct and sometimes when they take a little longer than usual, they will throw in a free side of fries. We've all heard "screwed at the drive-thru." At this McDonald's location, you can count on it. I have lived nearby for about five years and can probably count on one hand the times our orders were correct. 50-50 chance you'll get cold fries, no sauce for nuggets, or sweet tea instead of unsweetened (or vice versa). If the food is right, there's no straw or maybe no napkins. Sometimes they're really fast and other times you could be in line for 20 minutes or more. Asked for 2 Filet-O-Fish to be cooked fresh-from-frozen (not assembled from old stuff in their warming bins). 1st time, they took 2 old fish fillets and re-fried the damned things making them blackened, burned, and room temp in the center. 2nd time, the same thing happened - wasted 40 min ONLY to have the manager say that their "oil hadn't been changed in weeks" (gross), and give a refund instead of making quality food. This is the closest mcdonald to my house so I visit it frequently. Their staff has always been slow but had a few elderly employees who cared about good service and made sure your order was correct . That's now all gone in the last few months. The staff no longer care and one male employee got angry at me because I asked him 3 times not to put napkins &plastic wear in the bag because it's a waste. He agreed each time. Before he hand me the bag I asked him did it have napkins and plastic wear? He said no. The bag had both. I asked him does he not understand English. He reacted by taking his mask off and angrily yell at me that he's had enough of this and turned around and walked away. When I complained to store manager she justified his behavior and said for me to go to another store if I don't like their service. They also left out some of my food. I went in for one drink a large mocha and waited for 15 minutes behind one person and walked out with nothing. I've never been there when their machine got coffees and ice creams have worked. Absolutely worst McDonald's EVER! I have complained numerous times and told myself I was never going back after their customer care team ignored me for 2 weeks. Well, made the mistake of going again. Got a pretty simple order, 2 meals, 2 kids meals - just cheeseburgers (basic), nuggets & fries (of course). Ordered at their machine, didn't get a receipt. Proceeded to wait for 25 minutes, while people ordering after me were leaving with food. Finally had enough and asked for money back. Manager helped me, I told her amount wasn't right, don't know why I didn't look at my pending charge. She informed me it was right, guess what she stole $5.94 from me!! No goods for my purchase, not enough money back. Called and asked why she shorted me, told her it wasn't right, and she hung up on me! Looks like if I don't get the rest of my money and to speak to general manager, I will be filing a police report for theft.
