Culver's on 41 in Venice is always a good experience. Food consistently good, well maintained for cleanliness and very pleasant employees. I love that you order & pay, find a seat, and your food is brought to your table. It's never been overcrowded or loud, seems to be a favorite spot for families or seniors ( be sure to get your senior discount). Most booths or tables near wall have ports for your phone or laptop. And then there's the ice cream ... flavor of the day varies but you can't go wrong with a carmel & hot fudge sundae.... I hate to mention the one small disappointment - the cheese for the fries was way too thin - maybe just an off day. I would give a zero if I could! We ordered 1 chocolate milkshake, and 2 two scoops of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge to go. 3 things total. We waited at the front for our to go order. The young staff were playing around, standing around and laughing and joking. We noticed everybody in the drive-through was getting their orders and other people that came to the counter to order after us were already getting their food. At this point, we had been waiting for 25 minutes. Went to the counter to find out why it takes 25 minutes to get three items and the manager Lori said that she was sorry and didn't know why we haven't received our ice cream and milkshake order. She went over to the young girl who was working the machine and asked her why our items were not made and found out that they had run out of vanilla custard and she was trying to get it made. The manager asked her why it wasn't made prior to running out when it got low and the young girl in a very mean ugly tone of voice using profanity told her manager, Lori if you don't like the way, I am doing things you can F-ing do it yourself, and started laughing in front of her peers and customers including me. This flew all over me. I told the manager I cannot believe that she just spoke to you like that and nothing was said to her. The manager walked away. I told the young girl you are a very disrespectful girl talking to your manager that way. she continued to laugh and joke with her peers. It seems like the management has no control over this young generation who think they can speak and say anything they want to. This is unacceptable! The food was good, BUUUT... eww! the cashier stuck her dirty gloved hand that she just wiped her nose with INSIDE my cup as she handed it to me. I don't want to drink whatever disgusting crap is on her hands that you don't wash because you're wearing gloves. When I pointed out that that's not sanitary, she argued with me as if I was the dumb one. Then she got 2 of the 3 meals we ordered wrong and argued with us that we were wrong. We aren't eating inside yet, but I find the menu so extensive that it would be hard to do through the drive thru, so we went inside to order and then take our food home. The store inside was clean and inviting. I should have taken a picture of the menu as it's massive. I was in the mood for a burger, so I got a single butter burger with my favorite toppings, along with onion rings, which are considered an upgrade. I also ordered a chocolate custard peanut butter cup concrete. Our cashier was friendly, but must have been new as it took awhile for her to get it right. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for our order, and it was right. Short drive home, and nothing was very hot, which was our bad choice to leave. The cheeseburger was cooked well, but really nothing special about it. I have had way better at other locations. The onion rings were very good. Nice and crispy, and the onion didn't fall out when you bit it. The concrete was as expected and it was enjoyed. I had gone to their website prior to eating and was able to join their Club. For doing that, they emailed me a coupon for a Buy One, Get One Free meal. We saved almost $7 by doing that. Friends told us we will now get coupons via email. I like their food but the service is just horrific. Do not go through the drive thru after 3 pm as every time the order is shorted or messed up. You also need to plan to sit in the drive thru for about 30 minutes. So, I live in a n area that has many Culver's to select from. I have never been to Culver's before, so, today I stopped for lunch. For some reason, I had the impression it would be like a Denny's but, in reality it is really more like McDonald's. I was greeted with a friendly hello, the young man at the register was fast and efficient. He asked good questions as I selected my food and asked a few questions. Then he repeated the order back to me for clarification of a correct order. When he gave me my change, he told me what the change would be and counted it back to me, which was refreshing. I ordered the bacon deluxe butter burger, crinkle fries, a coffee and a single scoop of peach topped, ice cream. I must say, my lunch was very good. The fries were okay, the burger was excellent with fresh toppings and good flavored beef patties. Their coffee was horrible and they also had an extra charge of .20 cents for substitution from the soda. The ice cream was very delicious. Next time, I will only go back for a burger and ice cream, no basket or drink. I suggest, if you have not tried them before, to go ahead and give them a try. read more

I was given the drink and ice cream and told to pull up...and waited, waited, waited. When she finally came out I told her that my sundae is now melted. She told me that's the way we do it. No sorry, no I'll replace it. Nothing. So I said well I will call corporate since it's their policy. Her retort: "Whatever. Do what you want." and walked away. The mgr I phoned "cheyenne" (who sounded a lot like the person who walked up to my car) was just as nonchalant, again offered no replacement/refund and then told me basically it was MY fault for not telling them to hold the ice cream till last. We walked to this nearby fast food place when visiting Venice, Fl, because my husband had heard that it had a more interesting menu. There were diverse offerings, from brisket, to Reubens, burgers and cod. I wish had tried the cod. Instead I went for the reuben, which was very greasy, soggy, and much too salty. I was glad I ordered water to drink. My husband's brisket was OK, but a little sparse. The fries he ordered were very good. He also ordered a malt. The chocolate malt made with their custard was thick, surprisingly didn't seem that cold. Not to our taste, and left over half behind. The dining area was kind of dark, a bit dreary, but plenty of customers. The small outdoor patio would've been more pleasant. We won't be back. $20 for this lunch. read more

I have never given five stars to a burger joint but I must say this one was well worth it. There were 13 of us in our party. We placed an online order and drove out arriving between 10 to 15 minutes after placing our order. Believe it or not, our order for 13 was ready. Service was outstanding. We arrived back to our apartment and found that all of our order was perfectly prepared and complete. All 13 of us enjoyed our sandwiches, burgers, chicken tenders, onion rings, french fries, cheese curds, etc. Everything was prepared well, cooked well and we were all very happy with our meal. We love Culvers and we usually take a pint of custard home with us. The last two times we purchased custard we weren't happy with it. I ordered caramel turtle, one of my favorites. The only caramel and pecans were at the bottom. Today I got chocolate caramel twist. It was all chocolate custard except for a small amount of vanilla at the bottom. I think we will be skipping the custard for awhile. I hope it gets back to the high quality it used to be. read more
