Our favorite was the maple walnut -- it was an excellent recommendation by the lovely woman assisting us! Our daughter loved the strawberry fudge. This shop offers so many more flavors of fudge and other yummy truffles and chocolates. They also sell every kind of candy you can imagine, including old school candy and novelty candy (think scorpion lollipops LOL). Great shop to stop by while visiting Payson. This is such a cute little fudge shop! It smelled amazing when we walked in and had such an inviting atmosphere. The fudge looked delicious, and there was a great variety of chocolates and old-school candies. We picked up some Cow Tales and a couple of candy bars. Just a heads-up -- we were accidentally overcharged by about $7.25. Our total should've been around $6.50, but it rang up as $13.75. Thankfully, the woman working was very nice, quickly fixed the issue, and gave me the difference back in cash. She mentioned there's a known issue with their tablet system. My son and I stopped in here and were greeted by the most charming adorable little elderly lady named Linda! Man what a gem she is! The shop is full of nostalgia and charm. The truffles are incredibly creamy and melt in your mouth, I can taste the butter in the fudge, vanilla and cinnamon in the nuts! My wife and I drove up to Payson today to escape the additional billion people in the Phoenix Metro area due to the WM Open and the Super Bowl. We stopped into this little sweet shop and OMG - what an amazing, charming little shop! They're located right on 87 in the heart of Payson. It smells amazing inside its chock full of candy, old time candies, soda and sweets. There's fresh gelato, homemade baked goods and an entire case of truffles with more flavors than you'd ever know what to do with. Not afraid to admit we spent more here than we did in the spot we ate lunch down the road. I went with this gigantic peanut butter cookie about the size of an appetizer plate and a bunch of truffles - coconut, cappuccino, key lime, caramel sea salt. I stopped here on a day trip for work. The shop has a bunch of cool items including old fashioned candy, gelato, candies nuts, truffle, huge fresh baked cookies and gifts. For those of you that like pickles, they even have pickle pops. They have boxes of 6 or 9 for the truffles. I got cappuccino, German chocolate, funfetti, Irish cream, amaretto, rocky road. I took one bite the German chocolate flavor and it was so rich and good. The cookie was the last one they had and was still warm and gooey. It was a Reese's peanut butter cup cookie and it's delectable. I highly recommend this place for a "treat yourself" type experience. read more

Whenever I'm passing through small towns, I love stopping at local shops like this. I'm surprised that this was my first visit here considering how often I drive to Payson. Sweet Country Charm sells all sorts of gifts that are mostly made by local artists. But what made me stop in were two things - coffee and fudge. They have a large variety of fudge here. Peanut Butter, Rocky Road, and Mint Chocolate are just some of the flavors that they have on hand. If fudge isn't your thing, they have plenty of other sweets and chocolates in their display case that you can purchase. What a hidden treasure we stumbled upon. We were just driving down the highway minding our own business when what did we spot out of the corner of our eye..... a big old sign that said FUDGE! Stopped by after the Summer Festival up in Pine because of the adorable architecture. Too cute! So what was the first thing that greeted me when I walked in the door? The family and I wanted to walk around and explore. We found this cute little candy shop along our walk. The sweet smell of chocolate engulfs your nostrils as you walk in. They offer a little bit of everything - candy in bulk, fudge, truffles, gummy bears, honey sticks, etc. They also sell cute trinkets and knickknacks. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They offer free samples of fudge - YUM!! The fudge was buy 1 lb. and get a 1/4 lb. free! A great deal if you're a fudge lover. I enjoyed walked around the store and looking at everything. This is now my favorite spot in Payson. The owner and her employee are absolute sweethearts! She is the epitome of southern hospitality. This is an awesome sweets shop with delicious Gelato she special orders, decadent chocolate balls, and amazing fudge! The walls are also lined with candy, craft soap bars, and local sauces. She sells a BBQ sauce named Pork Soda, made by a local chef starting his own BBQ sauce line. The best part of it all was her adorable 8 year old Toy Chihuahua named piper. She even has her own fan club on Facebook "Piper's Fan Club". She is super calm and sweet, she lays on her unicorn plush toys while customers enjoy their treats. This woman's friendliness is reason enough alone to stop by! As we're leaving my 8 year old says "This is like Heaven for kids!" Best Cookies and Cream gelato I've ever had.

Didn't even get mostly in the building before my dog (service dog in training) got bombarded by another dog. Which wasn't the problem. The problem was that we were then rudely told by the guy at the register that if we were bringing a dog in we needed to tell them before hand. There are no signs outside that say that. So if you are going to act like it is our fault at least put a sign out that says that. My dog is training to be a service animal and didn't respond in a violent manner at all. She just pressed herself against me, didn't bark, and didn't try to bite the smaller dog. I appreciate the woman who grabbed the small dog telling us that it wasn't our fault, but we still left. The lady at the counter bragged that their truffles were way bigger than See's truffles but I'd rather have a small, yummy truffle from See's than a large, dry truffle. WE WALKED OUT-On August 6 '20 during our day trip just to get away we drove to Payson. Saw the ice cream and fudge store-ice cream sounded sooo good. Unfortunately to our surprise the employees in the store were not wearing masks. We had our masks on as did the other patrons. We watched the older woman behind the counter directly waiting on customers filling bags with fudge, she was wearing gloves. However, she talked to customers and learned over the bags talking all the while as she filled orders without a mask. Spewing those droplets. Fudge!! How can you not stop in for some homemade fudge when you visit a small mountain town? I think it's a right of passage. This is an adorable little shop in Payson, just past the roundabout. It's located next door to the Candle Factory which I also love. The lady who owns this shop is talented. The fudge is worth every calorie and melts in your mouth. She was featuring creme brûlée fudge which I was hesitant to try and then I took a bite and was in heaven. The fudge is creamy, buttery and one bite won't be enough. Besides fudge, the shop also sells local handmade gifts, jewelry, novelty candy and other goodies for the home. Would have loved to try the fudge but after standing around for 15 minutes waiting for the employee to make 2 cups of coffee and then check those customers out. Cute store, but packaging and serving food with no masks is unacceptable at this point. I also love dogs, but having one live in your food shop is questionable. We drove through Payson the other day, and I saw the large, maroon sign declaring, "FUDGE" and had to stop and try it. It was a pleasant surprise to walk into the fudge shop and be greeted by a little pup (whose name is escaping me, but you can buy shirts with her "dizzy" trick in-store!). The store had a small, candy store-like feel, at first, as there is a wall of candies at your right. Walk past it. Trust me. The good stuff's farther back... We were pleasantly greeted by the owner, who was happy to offer some samples and mentioned that she makes two hundred and-something flavors, depending on the season and her whim. I tried the praline first, and about died. It was bliss. One daughter wanted cookies and cream, and the other wanted strawberry cheesecake. At this point, we were only one flavor away from getting one square free, so I picked up a square of butter pecan (YUM!) and chocolate walnut (still haven't tried that one - slowly working my way to it). We love everything we've tried. In addition to the lovely fudge, I adore the little touch added to the paper bag (hand stamped and a lacey cut-out - adorable!). She became defensive when I asked about the mask. My thought is - if she isn't considerate enough to wear a mask to protect her customers in the store, she probably isn't wearing a mask when making the fudge and other goodies in the store.
