I have been to this particular Starbucks many times traveling through but usually go through the drive-thru. All I can say is WOW....it's huge inside. It's open, clean and very modern. They have the typical food and drinks but there is a section where a customer can grab a book to read or drop off books. Kind of like the free little libraries in neighborhoods that pop up. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is one of the first Starbucks where I feel like I could just hang out for a few hours. read more

This is a great location. Only today did I get blocked on trying to park in the actual Starbucks parking lot. But the drive-through was very busy. I decided to park slightly out of the way and walk over to the establishment where my son was waiting for me. There is always seating available even when they're busy. It is a nice large lobby. The cups are 50% off right now, I just bought four of them this last couple weeks so I got another 4 cups because these are great and fit in my cupholders and keep my drinks cool or hot. The service is always friendly and I love using my app. I think I have like 600 stars now and I really don't even drink coffee. Fortunately they have a number of other drinks and pastries and sandwiches.. read more

Honestly, I don't understand the other reviews for this place. And this one is hard to write. My family has a long history with the Basha family and I used to love their stores. (Still love AJ's though!) We camp, A LOT, and Payson is usually our last stop before hitting the Rim or heading up through Strawberry, and Pine to head towards Flag. We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon, thinking it would be better than the local Walmart, which we usually hit up. I was wrong. They didn't have many brands to choose from in just about everything we were after. I figured since it was an actual grocery store, we'd have better luck. Not the case and I don't know if its because Payson is a smaller town or what?! The fruit selection was do-able, not great. They had 2 brands of hash browns to choose from, lots of the eggs were cracked, and finding tortillas was more difficult than it should have been. I have other complaints but you get the idea. We like to have munchies and food while we camp, so I anticipated a big bill. But people are right when they say Bashas is expensive. Over $250 for 2 days worth of food. I honestly didn't buy THAT much. I'd rather brave the always crowded Safeway across the street, or the dreaded Walmart any day. This Bashas definitely missed the mark. read more

Thank goodness Bashas' had a wine department. We were out in the dark with no wine bottle opener. We walked into the store to find a huge array of wines. We found our wine bottle opener. I did notice how nice and clean the store was that hour of the night. Very well kept store. read more

Siobhan has to be the nicest human being I have ever met. I was driving through Payson on my way to Snowflake and had car trouble. Was able to limp my car along to the dealership and then walked across the street to get a cup of coffee while I waited. Siobhan was immediately warm and welcoming. Didn't just ask me what I wanted but asked me in a very genuine way how my day was going. Mentioned to her what had happened with my car and she was so caring and so concerned and wanted to make sure my drink was perfect because I had already had a stressful day. A lot of people act concerned but you could tell there was an absolute genuineness in the way she spoke, in the way she looked you in the eye, just a really lovely person. Was in the grocery business for many many years. This place needs to be remodeled badly. Walking in to the store makes you feel like it's 1985. (I think the only thing that has been updated since then, are the cash registers (only because they can scan bar-codes)). Sadly, Wal-Mart has a better meat and produce department. I moved to Payson from Florida, so I am used to the high standards set by Publix, one of the highest rated grocery chains in the country. Payson has two grocery stores: Bashas and Safeway (Wallyworld does not count it is so terrible). There is NO contest! Bashas wins: for customer service, friendly and helpful staff, and selection. Wow! Newly remodeled and it's a stunner of a store! People are friendly and the produce is wonderful, that Manager Rick was very helpful!!! Don't trust the mean nasty review of kitty kat d. wrote ( if you shop ajs that's a specialty store for the richer crowd) payson is a poor town so no there won't be caviar !! Gesh, get your Scottsdale pantys out of your butt lady. With the new remodel this bashas looks the best in all of az. The people are helpful and really nice. Oh and what most phoenix people don't know is there is an extra tax in payson which makes your bill more then what you would pay in phoenix.If you don't like it, shop in Phoenix and bring your food up the hill. read more
