Very good experience. Docked one star only because I had to wash my own table but honestly it wasn't a big deal. They did make a mistake on my order however they quickly remedied the situation and gifted me the extra food. They had a great attitude with great customer service the whole time. The kids are excited to play at the indoor playground too. I have no real complaints. The other customers are also helpful. Update: I hate to doc two more stars but it feels dishonest to not edit after having spent over 45 minutes at the drive thru waiting for my order and they still forgot to give us straws, sauces, and napkins. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. Whenever I am desperate enough to come here I usually have to wait in line atleast 20 minutes for cold food and hot drinks. Today I had ordered a large iced caramel macchiato and they tried giving me a caramel frappe. I politely told the girl I didn't order that and she quickly fixed it and it wasn't the right size. She went and got another employee, pretty sure he wasn't anyone of "authority" because the lady couldn't speak English I'm guessing and he more or less forced me into taking the coffee that I didn't pay for. This place just seems to get worse with every business. Its as if the owners do not care for what the customers want or need. The play area was very dirty. The floor had food and spilled drinks in various places. Most all the tables were dirty and there was only one other mom with children in the area. The waste basket in the bathroom was over flowing so someone and someone left a dirty diaper in the sink. The young man working behind the counter came in and we told him about the bathroom and the tables. He came back and began slowly cleaning up. The place has gone down hill unfortunately. Let me start off by saying that my partner and I make the journey between OKC and Hesston, KS quite frequently. We actually maintain two separate households and it isn't unusual for us to be in both places at the same time, just not together. Anyway, the trip is so frequent, the van seems to drive itself. There are lots of places to stop for a quick bite between the two towns, and as we like to try new things, we often will stop someplace new. On this trip it was decided that since all nine of our kids were making the full trip in the van, or as we call it, "the fun bus", we decided to swing by the McDonald's in Ponca City. We hadn't had the pleasure of visiting this location, but figured if you'd seen one you'd seen them all.. We knew that we could get something for everyone quickly and avoid a fuss from the kids. I admit, we got some stares as we unloaded in the parking lot and made our way inside. As usual, the restroom was the first stop due to the long drive. The restrooms were pleasant and clean enough to pass Pat's muster, so things were looking good. The clerk at the counter had no problem when I asked if each of the kids could have their own bag with their meal in it. Sometimes breaking the order into ten parts can be difficult and cause confusion, but the girl behind the counter, Amber, I think was her name, told us it wouldn't be a problem. Such a relief as it makes eating in the van so much easier when each of the children have their own sack. The food was good, standard McDonald's fare. Nothing fancy, but exactly what was expected. Which is important with a few of our children, particularly Rupert, who will spend a good deal of time counting his nuggets before eating them. Something new or unexpected isn't needed during one of our travels. The whole family was filled and enjoyed the meal without issue as we continued north toward Hesston. If everything was fine, then why just the two stars? Well it wasn't due to anything other than what we assumed to be a manager, and his attitude. Particularly the way he was treating one of the employees. I didn't get either name, but I wish I had. There was this nice twenty-something guy who they had cleaning tables and pushing mops around. He was obviously "different", but that didn't stop him from working hard. Apparently he wasn't working hard enough, or had done something wrong, so this manager just lit into him like nothing we'd ever witnessed in public. He yelled at the poor guy, called him slow, stupid, and even retarded. I wanted to intervene so badly, but we just couldn't risk a confrontation, especially with the whole family along, as well the fact that my trick knee was acting up again. We glared at the show this manager put on, shook our heads, and ushered our kids out of there as quickly as possible. It was so off-putting to witness such a display, such an ugly, hateful incident. One that we will not soon forget. We wanted to make sure to tell the world what we witnessed. Maybe someone braver and more fit than I am can stand up to this bully someday. Cobbs Family Restaurant on North 14th street in Ponca City. When i go to Cobbs, I eat, not something fancy, but a chicken fried steak. They are usually very busy because they concentrate on serving something satisfying both in quantity and quality. When it is served, it is as good as you remembered, with potatoes and gravy that is just right. Not any greasy french fries, but real mashed potatoes that taste as if it was recently prepared. When you leave, you know you have had a meal, and go away satisfied. read more

Everyone in our culture knows about McDonald's. Ours in Ponca City leaves a little to be desired. The food is consistently McDonald's, but the service is super slow and often the waitstaff is bordering on unpleasant. Using a cash register seems difficult. What they have to do is seriously hard work, but maybe management needs to make some suggestions to speed things up. That's where the success of all business rests, in my humble opinion. And please fix the ice machine in the lobby. The seat on the toilet in the ladies' handicapped stall is consistently loose enough to dump someone in the floor. I've brought that to management's attention 3 times. Maybe they fix it, but that's a public restroom and gets more use than one at home. Maybe it needs to be checked and repaired more often. The restaurant is as clean as it can be, considering it's constant use. The cleaning staff is friendly and second to none. I'll keep going there because, McDonald's. read more
