Where do I start.. If I could give them no stars I would. First of all the drive through is a complete disaster, it is not uncommon to sit in line for 15-20 min. The staff is never friendly or welcoming, including the morning shift manager who likes to address customers as "dude" or "man". I've never seen a McDonald's have such loose standards when it comes to basic things such as employees on their phone while talking to customers. Frequently this location has stopped severing breakfast items sometimes a whole hour before breakfast hours are supposed to end. No surprise the ice cream machine is down 50% of the time. Last but definitely not lease. I've found they forget at least one or two items on your order in the drive through. Absolutely worst McDonald's I have ever been too. I will actually drive 10 more minutes out of my way to the Benson location just to avoid the frustration this location gives me. Fairwood McDonald's is an absolute joke. read more

This location is THE WORST "fast" food place ever! Wrong orders, takes SOOOO LONG! I ordered an Egg McMuffin... waited 8 minutes to get thru the line from time I ordered up to the food window.. and after all that time, they had some WRONG ORDER for me. Then they told me my Egg McMuffin was NOT READY! To pull up on the side and someone would bring it out.. Another 8 minutes later.... I got my food finally. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. The only reason this McDonald's gets 2 stars is because of a worker named Andy. He is the only competent worker or manager at this location. Very rarely do they get even the SIMPLEST orders correct when this guy is not working. I kid you not, there was one day where all I ordered was a medium fry and somehow that translated to medium iced coffee? Just tonight I ordered 2 pies and a large drink, guy in the drive through hands me the bag... doesn't even do the usual "thanks have a good night" routine, and then comes back a minute later and tries to hand me another bag. I just stared at him and said "I'm waiting for my large dr. pepper" and it was like I was speaking a foreign language. These constant screw ups happen in Drive Thru and at the counters too. Also, my roommate (and sometimes I) usually orders plain mcdoubles or plain mcchickens on the days we decide to 'cheat' and get lunch here. There may be one or two times when Andy wasn't working that we actually got them plain. The management obviously doesn't inspire their staff nor do they seem to care about quality control. My first job was McDonald's back when I was 15 and I hated the job but I always tried to make sure that people had a good experience even if it is "just McDonald's". Also, I did their receipt "give us feedback for a free whatever" and never received a response from the manager after posting a pretty lengthy review of problems I've had at this location. This place could go a lot further by promoting their one good worker and bringing in corporate - they obviously need improvement from the top down. I have been trying to think of a way to drive this wretched McDonald's out of Fairwood for several weeks now. This review on Yelp is the first volley. So, nobody expects a sublime gastronomic experience at Mickey-D's, right? But, we do expect consistency, efficiency, and competence. All these are missing from the Fairwood McDonald's, which is, without question, the worst McDonald's on the face of the earth. In our one measly family alone, we have myriad horror stories of this location's utter inability to fulfill even the most basic fast food protocols. First, the drive-through, which is really a park-and-sit-and-wait-and-wait. I timed it the last time we went through: 10 minutes. This, however, was a great improvement over the previous wait in drive-through, which timed out at 20 minutes! 20 minutes, forsooth! And who knows how long it really would have been, had I not gotten out of my car and marched into the store and demanded our paltry meal? And then, nary a word of apology or explanation. Terrible service! My husband shudders to recall the day that drive-through intercom broke down, so they just closed the whole store!! (I was going to write "closed the whole restaurant," but this place does not deserve the dignity of that moniker.) He would have been happy to go inside and order, but, nein, es war verboten! This is not a place where customer service is their number one priority. Throw in the nigh constant complaint that this diner on Dante's fourth ring never seems to be 100% operational ("We only have Coke today." "We're out of ice cream." "We have no idea about this Seattle Mariners promotion of which you speak."), and there is really no reason for it to continue to plague the good folks of Fairwood. Why-oh-why could we not have a better burger joint on the Fairwood plateau? I'm thinking a Sonic or an In-N-Out (wouldn't you LOVE to have the first In-N-Out in WA?) or a Five Guys or a Culver's. Do we not deserve it, fellow Fairwoodians? And, barring that bit of bliss, how about just a better McDonald's? One that rises to a competency of sorts and meets the very undemanding expectations of mediocrity harbored in the breast of the average McDonald's patron? read more

Worst McDonads I have ever been to!! I used to go here all the time about 20 yrs ago, but it has definitely gone down hill! I tried to order in one of the drive-through speakers, but no one was speaking to me! I wasn't sure if it was broken or if I was being ignored, but I watched cars pass me in the other lane so I decided to just wait in line & order @ the window. It was taking FOREVER. When I finally got up to the window the drive through employee totally ignored me there too!! I had now been in line for so long & wasn't sure how much longer it was going to be so I seized my chance to escape. I had already been warned that it was gonna be bad here, but thought I would give them a chance. They totally blew it. I just drove off having been there about 15 minutes & never talking to a sole. I stop by this McDonald's on my way to work because I have to work very early some days and the other location on my way doesn't open until 5am. The employees are friendly and have never messed up my order (although I usually only order coffee and orange juice and an occasional hash brown) My only complaint is that if you get orange juice between about 3-5am it is warm. Bleck. They have started putting some ice in it recently, but that also kind of weirds me out a little. Who likes ice in their orange juice? Not this girl. I usually go to this location out of convienince, but I think I'll take the trouble to go down a few blocks to the benson location. Im always craving a good old mcflurry. I'll go to the drive through and they will literally take forever!! It's a very claustrophobic feeling when you are trapped in a drive thru . I get so frustrated when I roll up to the order screen. I can NEVER understand what they are saying. They always mumble and the items never show up on the little screen. I mean never. Stopped by this 24 hour McD's for a midnight snack after working swing shift. "Sorry, we don't have fish fillets this late". "Sorry, we don't have grilled chicken snack wraps this late." "Sorry, we don't have have crispy chicken this late." "Sorry, we don't have shakes this late". "Sorry, we don't have ice cream this late". Finally got chicken nuggets (why they have nuggets, and not snack wraps containing nuggets, is beyond me). They gave me one - ONE - paper napkin, about like a piece of toilet paper. I like it and recommend it. I get a wrap, side salad, or a cheese burger and add tomatoes, lettuce on a wheat bun at no extra charge. The staff is actually bilingual which make them very competent with customer service. The young man/ woman are very nice and friendly. They have great cheap items that are not too fatty by avoid ing the fries and soda or combos if you like. Instead, I get the yougurt parfait, apple dips, and etc Get what you like...I'm just watching out for calories and fat. read more

I just came from the drive thru - which I was happily surprised to see they also upgraded to have the (2) order drive thru lines. This is much more efficient and helps you get out quick! However, what they've improved in Drive Thru speed they've really dropped the ball on order ACCURACY - such a disappointment. I'd rather get my order *right* - making TWO trips is actually slower... So, my advice: doublecheck your order before you drive away from the window to save yourself a second round or from running inside. read more

It's an official rarity... a McDonalds where you can understand the staff. The Fairwood McDonalds remodeled a few years ago, going for a more upscale look. I think it's kind of stuffy... it doesn't fit the low quality food McDonalds is best known for. They do have the rare Snickers FrostyMcBlizzard, and also Tillamook Ice Cream AND Dippin Dots, just in case a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese wasn't making you fat enough. As an added bonus, I worked at this McDonalds a LONG time ago back when I was in school, so I've got stories to tell! Unspeakable, horrible stories. Just recently moved here, and the service here has to be one of the most God-awful experiences in my life. I have been to this Mcdonalds a total of 8 times, and all those 8 times, either items were missing, food was cold, or very slow or all three at the same time. I thought it was just me freaking out, but reading the reviews, it seems this happens quite often and they do nothing to fix it. I ordered 2 mcdoubles plain, with a side water, and it took 15 minutes to get. You heard that right. And I started my phones timer after I ordered...not when I was ordering. I stopped going there and started going to a little further one because of this. I mean really, if you cant get an order right...how do you plan on ever moving up in life? Seriously. It's not like you can reason with them either, I have learned that already, that if you try to argue with stupid people, they will just bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. Can you imagine me...arguing with some dumb mcdonalds employee in front of everyone? I'd be the joke. So I don't even try because, as it shows, this keeps happening. I hope this is helpful. There were items missing from the Happy Meal which made my daughter cry. I've probably been there ten or so times over the past year. I had a mobile deal for a free egg McMuffin. I place my order on my phone, roll up to the drive through. My receipt shows that I get charged for the McMuffin, but I'm like nah I'm not gonna fight with these guys. They deal with enough already. I just worked a 10 hour shift and starving so ran through drive through to get a filet of fish only to be told they are out of them then tried to order a chicken snack wrap to find out they are also out of those . So my husband ordered a cheeseburger and quarter pounder which I don't eat . So I decided to eat just fries and almost choked on them since they were so cold and hard and covered in salt . Every time I have gone here the service has been terrible. My order was completely wrong. The people working in the windows were not friendly and had poor customer service skills. One wouldn't even make eye contact or say a word to me when I came up to pay. I was then gave a frappe that was the consistency of milk and went to go inside to talk to some one but found the inside area was closed due to staffing. I then had to go stand at the pick up window for ten minutes to get a drink remade and even then it was terrible and the wrong size. Something must be done with this location. Came in to grab a quick bite to eat before headed out of town. We used the kiosk, I'm on a corporate trip so was a bit annoyed that no receipt printed, when I asked the girl said "I don't know, I think we ran out". You think? I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult to put a note up saying that kiosk is out of paper. Also, waited patiently for our food that arrived about 10 minutes later. We needed to use the rest room before getting on the road as we have a long drive, my daughter went and asked for the code to the restroom, was told she had to be buzzed in, so she said ok and waited by the door, since nobody ever buzzed her in, we left and now I'm at Safeway just mind blown and the complete lack of professionalism.
