Ordered two kids meals. They don't give fries with kids meals apparently. They only give a bag of apples. Kids were very upset. Had I known I would have order fries. I will not go to McDonald's ever again. Simply terrible. They forgot the sauce for the nuggets and shorted each kids meal exactly one nugget; coincidence I think not. So once, I went up to Rising Sun planning on meeting a friend -- I was very hungry. I got some meal through the drive-thru and ate it in the parking lot. The food was fine. No problems. They got my order right. In the parking lot I felt like I had to keep looking around. I feel like there were people necking in the car to my rear-left. There were lots of high-schoolers hanging out in the the actual McDonald's, intimidating me from afar, through McDonald's pristinely windexed windows. How do they get the windows so clean? Whatever. This McDonald's attracts teenagers so if you're afraid of them. What else . . . This McDonald's has a decently sized parking lot. I think that if you come here you won't have trouble. I didn't test out their wi-fi, but God Bless MCD. read more

Countless times eatting here my order was wrong, food was cold right from the point of getting it. All good if it was one or two times not every time. Best bet is keeping the order simple for them. Don't ask for anything special because they will mess it up. Even then get ready for an issue. This was my last time getting food there. Got a 1/4lb and my mother got a salad. My food was cold and the meat didn't even melt the cheese. Her salad wasn't even the one she ordered, even though the dressing was the one she did, chicken was little too none just breading. Just had a quick dinner there tonight while running errands and oh my gosh... I have never seen a McD's so dirty in my entire life. There was not a single table which was clean. I'm not talking you could see a little film in the light reflected off the tables, I'm talking about every table had food remnants on the table; dried ketchup, salt, soda in various states of jelling... It was obvious that either Rising Sun just had a tornado or there were hours and possibly days of neglect in this store. Several used napkins littered the floor. The soda fountain was absolutely disgusting: it was like a bomb went off! There was literally no place safe from soda, melting ice, etc. the ketchup dispenser looked as if someone just let it open, filling the small receptacle (designed to catch mess) to the brim. I just got off work and was wearing a tie: I had to through the tie over my shoulder for fear that it would rest in the soda/ketchup mess while I poured my drink. It was so bad, the lady getting a soda next to me said "I can imagine this is how the employees keep their kitchen... This is disgusting!" And so it was. The food tasted fine, but I'll never go back again. read more

The managers are rude, they yell at each other and the crew members, and they do NOT wear gloves. They especially mess up orders. The food is either cold, raw, of down right disgusting. 2 cars were in front of us. When we finally got to the window for the food, we were given our drinks and asked to pull forward. Ordered a large # 3 with a sweet tea and a medium #2 with an unsweet tea. At least the wait wasn't long. When we got home my husband pulled his food out of the bag and everything looked great until he opened the box and it was not the correct item. At least the french fries were hot. This place, man. The 2nd shift manager, Esme, is rude and refuses to fix HER mistake of forgetting food. We got dinner, get home and realize they forgot one sandwich in a small order. I call, ask about it, she says oh I'm sorry, I forgot. I then say, well bc we gotta drive all the way back, have cold food here now, and then get a probably cold sandwich, can I have the sandwich plus a refund? She hangs up on me. Cool. Get there and she says either refund or sandwich. My bf gets refund, for lack of wanting to cause a scene. He gives her back refund bc we still need sandwich. And Esme really grabs the old sandwich off the rack for him. The SAME old sandwich. So we wasted our time even bothering to drive all the way back. Way to fix your own mistakes, there. McDonalds is McDonalds. But remember what Joe Pesci's character in Lethal Weapon said about the drive thru? Well, he was thinking of this place. In ten years, I don't think I have EVER gotten a drive thru order from this one that was right. You get the wrong burger, or parts of the burger are missing, or you get a girl Happy Meal instead of a boy Happy Meal, the wrong sides, apple slices that are expired, or if you're lucky, they just fail to give you condiments you requested or napkins/utensils. If you eat in, take a look at the ketchup dispenser and soda dispenser for crust/mold. Oh, and if you complain? They don't care and won't do anything to make it right. What a shame. Only fast food place in Rising Sun with drive thru. Very seldom get your order correct, and then the food is never prepared correctly. They have a few very nice, friendly people working at the windows, but the managers are horrible and rude ...with the exception of the lady with the light brown/reddish colored hair - she's a very nice manager. The computers are always down, cash only most of the time, and ...they never have lemons of plastic cups for your tea. I try not to go there, but some days we only have 15 min for lunch, and it is convenient. I wish it would improve, or maybe another fast food would give them some competition. Our burgers today had no ketchup or mustard..so dry it would choke you...Called and they offered me replacement. I said I don't want a replacement, I just want you to do your job so we know we get what we pay for. read more

It's a Mickey D's so you know the routine and menu ( probably by heart). It is clean and the drive through is open 24/7. The dining room opens up at 5am and closes around 11. Don't come here in a rush. They drive through is slow but the food is 90% of the time hot and fresh. read more

I am updating my review from 2 stars to 3 since my last review was in 2008. The restaurant has improved slightly. It's an extremely busy restaurant and seems to go through cycles of order incorrectness. However, they are on an uptrend and I hope they keep the same consistency. Restaurant is always clean when I eat inside. McDonald's as a whole however have raised their prices, and the food quality hasn't gone up with it (this is not factored into this review as it deals with McDonalds as a whole). read more

Absolutely terrible. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger KETCHUP ONLY and what do I get? I get a patty with ketchup, no bacon and no cheese. When I took it back they just threw a cold piece of cheese and some dry bacon on it and didn't even apologize. This is the only fast food place in Rising Sun so it is busy. My order is OFTEN not right even if it is just a single order (i ordered a 2 burrito meal with hash brown and unsweet tea and got 2 Mc Griddles and a coke- and I could write pages of problems like this) The help at the windows have always been nice to me as I am a regular. Sometimes its fast at drive through sometimes you might as well go inside! I know there are problems, they know there are problems but they don't address them or correct them! Today was another bad experience- I often drive 1/2 hour to McD's in North East so much better service and always hot better tasting food. read more

This place is a S**t show-the first time my husband and I went there we waited at least 30 minutes for our food-I watched as they put the fries in the bag at least 10 minutes before the burgers were ready-The mgr handed me the bag, felt the fries and obviously they were ice cold---we went there last night--ordered 2 Double Qtrs w/cheese and fries. When the order was finally ready--The girl called out 2 double qtrs w/cheese and 2 fries and I stepped forward and took the bag. I quickly opened the bag and the fries were hot but when we got home we find 2 regular qtrs w/cheese in double qtr boxes. Needles to say we were pissed. I called and was told that we weren't charged for 2 doubles--we paid for 2 reg-but the point is--I didn't ask for 2 reg-- I will never return to this circus again. --This place is pathetic. read more

The worst drive thru service, order 20 piece nuggets and asked for barque sauce. received order after waiting for 2 to 3 minutes. Employee said 20 piece and Barque sauce, I said yes, drove away and looked in bag, low and behold NO SAUCE. I parked went in, walked right up to the counter and asked to get what i paid for. Ok, it's a McDonald's, but it's a nice one -- new and clean, friendly service. It definitely deserves more than 1.5 stars. It's nicer than other locations that get more stars. Nice for a quick snack with the kids on the way back from the zoo. read more
