Well I finally did a review for my local McDonald's on Gaffey Street in San Pedro. I frequent this location at least once a week. I decided to order for pickup/drive thru their mobile app on 10/15/24 specifically for one of their mobile app specials $6.50 plus tax for a Big Mac Special- which includes medium fries and a medium drink. With the special- you can choose between the normal one (beef)- but it let you also choose what I wanted- their limited time "Chicken Big Mac". I usually select add mac sauce- but from what I've seen via numerous social media outlets- that could get messy for this particular burger. I don't know if it's because of this new iteration of the Big Mac- but I liked it a bit more than the old standby. Because of the two chicken patties (Yes- they're definitely better than the McChicken patties and to the eye/taste are a bigger size McNugget) and due to the size/thickness of the chchicken- the burger was thicker (in height). I may try/request that the next Big Mac- be prepared with one meat patty and one Chicken patty. Again- try this limited time Big Mac and as far as service and ambiance- I know typically from my personal experience at this location their very good. read more

On 08/22, I placed an order online for pickup. I stopped by the drive-thru to pick up my order, grabbed the food, and handed my son his meal in the backseat. We then left and headed to Knott's Berry Farm. Within 10 minutes, my son asked, "What's this?" and handed me a piece of plastic that he had taken out of his mouth after taking a bite of his sandwich. I honestly could not believe how sharp the piece of plastic was, and I was extremely concerned about what could have happened if he had swallowed it. Unfortunately, I was also very disappointed with the way the restaurant handled the situation. Rather than taking responsibility for the issue, they placed blame on their food supplier and then asked me how I would like the situation to be handled. Honestly, I didn't know what to say. This has never happened to me before, and I truly wasn't expecting anything in return. I could care less about receiving a free or comped meal or a $5 refund. What I do care about is making sure this doesn't happen to another customer--especially a child. I would hope the restaurant takes this seriously, investigates how a sharp piece of plastic ended up in the food, and does everything possible to prevent something like this from happening again. Someone could have easily choked on it or been seriously injured. read more

This is one of the best McDonald's locations I've been to, and I visit my share of McDonald's. I usually use the restroom inside, so I often see the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, etc. The employees were friendly, organized & helpful, to me and each other. The restrooms and dining room were freshly cleaned and had signs for safely. There was even a basket for old coffee grounds for planting and compost (although there weren't currently any to take.) The McGriddle I ordered was fresh and the iced coffee was great, not watered down or overly sweet. I'm pleasantly surprised by this superstar location; it looks like the staff care about their work environment, and it shows. Thanks McDonald's San Pedro team! read more

I saw the service worker near tears today, trying to help all of her customers use the self service kiosks. The manager, Judith, had the great idea to shut down all of the cashier stations so that her patrons would be forced to use the kiosks! The people in corporate must think she's brilliant! Think of the costs saving! So, what do you do if someone has cash? Oh, that's simple. They are still forced to use the kiosks, THEN they go straight to the cashiers to pay. Wow. What a flawless plan. I know that they are forcing a change to save money, money that will mean dividends for their shareholders! On this end, on the end that actually pays the money, I hate it, and I won't be going back. It's taking what used to be a convenience, and putting the onus on the customer in a way in which the customre receives to value for themselves. This is a long trend in consumer services: bag your own groceries, it'll be fun! Park further away from our store so that we can reserve parking spaces for people who pay extra to have thier groceries brought out to them! "Talking to a human being who takes your order? How passé. Don't want to use a kiosk? Why do you hate convenience so much?" I won't go to a place that sacrifices my convenience for that of shareholders. Judging by the masses of people crammed into the lobby just before the breakfast service closes, they won't miss me. But I will reserves my time and money for business that respect the customers enough to retain the conveniences that actually make their products and servies convenient. As for Judith, she is just following orders. But the young woman fielding the needs of the customers who are trying to use the self-serve kiosks, and taking a lot of verbal abuse and disdain from customers who are very justifyably angered (even if that anger is misdirected) doesn't deserve this. She is just trying to pay some bill in what is likely her first job. Put Judith out there on the front lines, where the rubber meet the road, and where she can feel the frustration of those whom she is supposed to serve. She's a coward for sitting the in the back, away from view and letting her employee take th heat for her. If you use the drive through, you get the convenience of an actual person taking your order. I'm sure corporate is counting the days until they can get AI to take that job away as well. And the shareholders are salivating, and it's not at the prospect of eating anyting that passes through their lobby. Oh! To top it off, they forced you to use the kiosks, and one of them wasn't working. The service worker asked the manager to come out several times while I was there to reset it, but Judith couldn't be bothered to come out. Coward. read more

Second star is for positive wonderful experiences in the morning with a nice lady at the drive-through window. I used the app to get the big Mac deal. There was so much thousand island on it. It was absolutely disgusting. This is the third time I've had a big Mac like this I don't it. It's too bad. They don't offer original style without all the extra goopy goop on it. Food: It's a McDonald's. What can I say besides get what you pay for. ‍ Standard McDonald's flavor. ‍ Service: 7/10 The staff I have met here have all been very nice, friendly and professional. No complaints here. Be warned though their drive-thru does get pretty backed up especially during rush hours like lunchtime, breakfast, and around 2-5pm when people are headed home. Their drive thru can be a nightmare at times due to how it was constructed. Parking can back up into the little side street and once that happens, pray that someone was kind enough to leave space between their car and another if your planning to take the little side street exit/entry. Ambiance: I noticed that this McDonald's does try to add more decorations than the average McDonald's during holidays. Which is quite a nice touch to be honest. read more

I am leaving this review, because I never thought I would be impressed with my order from a McDonald's before. I've been ordering happy meals with my chance to win free McD's for life item, happily collecting Hasbro toys and discovering all the ways I could customize my order. This location has been the first to take my less than simple hamburger order and have it nicely assembled and with a bonus surprise. For my drink, they took the time to punch out "diet" and "tea" on my lid. By far the worst mc Donald's location ever. I usually try not to leave bad reviews but credit is due here. It's sad that you can raise the wages but lower the quality of work ethic and food. The young kids hired here cannot get it together. Our order is always messed up, how hard is it to pack a 6 piece happy meal, with apples, and an apple juice. If you don't like your job find another one you would enjoy doing. Then line moves incredibly slow, the orders come out wrong every single visit, the customer service needs dire help bad attitudes often especially when correcting on their errors. Everyone here is rude workers and unprofessional. Had an interview and was given bad attitude and it was only 5 minutes. The manager complained because I'm not going to college. Also, didn't know how to answer questions. I asked "what is your ideal employee for this company?" she looked at me like I was speaking gibberish. I was at McDonald's on July 7, 2025. I made a order of $37.26 took my kids breakfast comes up to be that they did not put the buns or the sausage. I called the restaurant cause I was driving home already I couldn't go back and taken. The manager said she was gonna replace The two deluxe then later on that day she gave me a call said she wasn't gonna replace nothing because everything was in the bags. My kids never lie. I just moved to San Pedro. I've been going to this McDonald's, but I don't like that. I have to park all the time just for a simple order. And I lost money because they didn't put all my food. I was extremely nervous about getting food from this McDonald's and prepared to wait a very long time based on many priors Yelp reviews. I'm happy to report that was not our experience We arrived pretty kat and it was really busy. We used the app to order but it didn't allow for curbside pickup so we got in the long drive through line and began managing our patience. To our surprise the line moved pretty efficiently. Now interestingly enough, when we got to the window we were asked to pull into a spot that was right next to the mobile order pickup spot. I came here for breakfast, and it was fast and efficient. The drive-up area has two feeder areas to place your order, and the team was friendly and fast. Nothing like an Egg McMuffin to start your morning. I guess it has been some time since I've eaten at McDonald's, I did not realize the basic McMuffin was now over $4.00 with tax. This is a great little spot because it is near the 110-freeway entrance. The McDonald's exit can be a little tricky because it dumps you onto Gaffey, especially if you are going left toward the 110 freeway, just be patient. read more

When all else fails and you have the fast food hungries, McDonalds is usually a standard staple that does the trick for a quick junk food fix. This location is slightly below that bar and barrrrrely satiates the fix. They're pretty quick at getting you in and out but the food flavor is just slightly better than cardboard. Not sure if it's overcooking or old oil but I'd almost pot to add a little ketchup to that cardboard. We might be back for a future desperate junk food fix maybe... and if so I'll update my review if the situation gets any better. read more

I've been writing to the franchise owners of this restaurant since last year, 2023. Have had issues with a restaurant recruiter, as well as an insolent, disrespectful, frontline shift worker who misheard a conversation between myself and a new worker, and decided that she was going to adopt a major attitude toward me about the conversation. She, in fact, called the police on me and insulted me highly in late November 2023. Unfortunately, she has bad-mouthed me to her associate friends who work there or who come there to work and every time I'm in the restaurant, I'm on pins and needles that someone's going to insult me as they have for the past 7 months, off and on. The latest occurrence was in February of this year 2024 when I walked in with a friend at night around 8:30 on a Sunday evening and was told by the male supervisor (in a gray vest whom I think was referred to as Eduardo) that I was "not welcome" there "because I "caused trouble." If anything, "Maria," I think was the name of the worker in late November who called the police, should have been fired because of the way she treated me and cursed me while on duty. People like her need to realize that customer service is more than having your friends support you when you've done wrong. I did not write to the franchise owners this time because I'm tired of communicating with them directly. They need to understand that they should tell their employees to stop commiserating with the one who hopefully was disciplined (or perhaps fired) because of her behavior last November 2023. This restaurant is visited by many, including people boarding cruise ships nearby. The shift supervisors never smile.. and I'm sure many of the out-of-town visitors notice this. There's no friendliness from the front line supervisory staff. They just function - - doing what they're supposed to do. The only people who smile are the people in the back preparing the food.. and the young folks who make runs to the cars to serve them. Overall, the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired as far as customer service is concerned. They make their work look like a chore, not something they enjoy doing. Truly sad. read more

Terrible service here. I understand that they're busy, but their system in how they get food out to those in the drive-thru makes absolutely no sense to me. I was asked to park in Stall 4 to wait for my food and as I watched all the cars pass by the 2nd window, they all got their food first before me and the other cars waiting at the other stalls. I swear at least 6 cars got their food before mine as I continued to wait and watch those pass by the 2nd window (there were no stalls left). I waited at least 20 mins for my food to come out. When I got home, I opened my 2 McChickens with no buns and the lettuce was all discolored and I didn't even bother eating it. Waste of my money and time honestly. A car pulled up behind us so there was no way to get out. Instead of letting us know that they were no longer taking orders, they literally just ignored us & turned everything off. Before we could pull up to the window, the worker closed the window & locked it up. RUDE WORKERS HERE. This was the night crew on a Thursday night. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MCDONALDS. Friendly service, but dirty dine in and very slow service This McDonalds has a great big parking lot and ample dine in. Cashier was very friendly and polite quick to take our order. It was down from here. Tables were poorly cleaned. Guess they never rinse the cloth they use to clean the tables. We had to switch tables 3 times to get a somewhat decent table Service is really slow took like 10 minutes no kidding to get our food. One egg Mv muffin and one deluxe breakfast.
