Those things showed up looking innocent and left me questioning every other order of fries I've ever had. The wings were fire, the hot fudge sundae was the perfect grand finale, and Sloan behind the bar was an absolute gem. Every recommendation she made was spot on, and whatever she shook up behind that bar should probably come with a warning label because it was that good. Fantastic first experience at San Pedro Brewing Company. I was craving a rare burger, which is hard to find. This place met the challenge! My burger came out perfectly rare and juicy. I asked for the burger to be teriyaki style (cheese, pineapple, and teriyaki) and they were happy to accommodate. Fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and a great accompaniment to the meal. Great spot for a casual, quick lunch that's also delicious! The restaurant has a cozy, comfortable vibe with seating both inside and outside. Weather was nice so we opted to dine outdoors, and the servers do a great job of making their way out there to check on us in a timely manner. I tried their bbq pulled pork sandwich with mac & cheese added in the sandwich itself and a side of garlic fries. The sandwich came out hot and fresh, and it was so yummy. I think I could go without the added mac & cheese next time, the flavor of the bbq just kind of overpowered it. I'd also recommend ordering their fries well done. I walked in, and the hostess was friendly, seating me at the bar. It was Whiskey Wednesday, and I ordered chicken fried steak, which came with creamed corn, garlic bread, and mashed potatoes, along with clam chowder soup or a salad. I opted for the clam chowder, and for my drink, I had a California slammer. The California slammer was enjoyable and paired well with the meal--not overly sweet and just the right amount of alcohol. The clam chowder was rich and creamy, bursting with flavor. Typically, I'm not a fan of creamed corn, but I decided to give it a shot, and it turned out to be quite tasty. I'm not sure I'd order it intentionally again, but if you enjoy creamed corn, it's definitely worth a try. The garlic bread and mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. Both were wonderfully garlicky and buttery; I would wholeheartedly recommend them. And then there was the chicken fried steak with gravy... Oh my goodness, it was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned, packed with flavor, and just incredibly tasty. I can hardly find the words to express how good it was. They had music playing and sports games on several TVs at the bar, creating a really enjoyable atmosphere. The music was at a nice volume--not too loud, but just enough to appreciate. The people around me were very friendly, and the staff was accommodating, always checking in to make sure I was okay, even though I'm not particularly social or chatty. I'm only in town for a few days for work, but I will definitely try to return and sample more items if I can. I would absolutely recommend this place. I'm not sure about parking since my hotel was just a short walk away. I wanted to try the bread pudding but unfortunately forgot... though I'm not sure I could have eaten it anyway, as I was quite full. The hostess was so sweet and reserved a table on the front patio right away, as we wanted to go freshen up at our hotel. Loved the patio. It was much quieter than inside. We tried two of the house brewed beers, the Shanghai Red (yum) and the Dragon Slayer (bitter finish, passion fruit notes). The calamari is awesome. Husband thought the red sauce with horseradish was too sweet; I thought it balanced the lemon juice well. The key lime pie is amazing. It has that sour bite at the end. Delish! It also was open at 11:30 which made it convenient. Nice outdoor eating area. Good size menu of food to choose from. Prices for food typically in the $18-$20 range. We had the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and the tri-tip sandwich. Both sandwiches were tasty and good portioned. I am 6'1 and 200 and the pulled pork filled me up nicely. The beer was okay and runs $8 a glass. Decent beer selection to choose from and the wait staff was extremely friendly. Be sure to keep your receipt and head around the corner to the affiliated Port Brewing company which is about 5 minutes away and gives you a 10% discount with receipt.
