I normally get my coffee from another location in the general Santa Barbara/Goleta area, but I was near this location today at lunch time, and hadn't had my coffee yet, so I stopped in. I have to say I was impressed with the crew up front and the customer service. I ordered from the kiosk, (I don't like ordering from the kiosk but it was only coffee, and there was a line), then I went and sat down to wait. At the other locations, they rarely make my coffee right. I know, it's not that hard to add cream & sugar to my coffee so why wouldn't they make it right?? I don't know why others can't get it right but I feel like some folks just don't care if they get it right, and they are always in a crazy hurry to get to the next customer. It's annoying. And here is the big thing, if they don't make it right the first time, it's double the work for them because I am not going to drink my coffee in a way I don't like it, so at those other locations I often have to go back up to the counter to ask for more cream & sugar, and they often have to stop what they are doing to get it for me. Then, when I ask for a refill later, I truly get the sense that they feel bothered. Well, I was expecting that here too, so I ordered, found a table, sat down, and decided my coffee was probably going to be wrong. I went back to the counter to ask for extra c & s BEFORE I even got my coffee. lol. The guy at the counter was super busy but he was so nice. I asked for c & s, and he put it all in a little bag for me! I was impressed. I said thanks and went to sit down, only to have that same guy come to the table with my coffee right after I sat down! He had a big smile on his face and he was laughing because he realized it was me again. He politely gave me my coffee and went back to the hustle. I sat and watched how busy it was and I could see how hard everyone was working, but they were were being friendly too. Before I left, I went to get a refill and this time there was a different guy at the register. He was polite too, and quick to ask me if I needed a refill, WHILE HE WAS HELPING SOMEONE ELSE, instead of making me stand there and wait. I said yes, and he called someone else over to help me, which ended up being the first guy again, who then refilled my coffee quickly, and did it right AGAIN. Both had nice smiles, great customer service skills, and no attitudes. It felt like they had a great appreciation for their customers, which is something that is hard to find these days. It seems like the whole team works well together there. Good job! I hope it stays that way!! read more

As a hungry Traveler McDonald's is usually a place I will stop because of the brand and ease of access. On this particular day I had no idea I'd be walking into a historic location. This was the location that invented the egg mcmuffin. I was able to place my order on a kiosk and it was brought to my table quickly. The food was what you would expect the McDonald's and the price was reasonable. Being a Rewards member I of course utilized my app and earned extra points. read more

The staff although very busy we're absolutely friendly and helpful over the phone and in person. Not very common in my opinion for a fast food place. The decaf coffee is better than most and affordable to boot. Plus it's location is walking distance for me. 5 stars from me.

I am giving 5 stars to this location because they still let you pump your own ketchup and pour your own drinks -- you can take as much of both as you want! So sick of other McD's locations that only give you ketchup if you request it and like 2 packets at that. Plus, the people at this location are super friendly. These people get paid $20+ per hour to microwave food. They have a sign at the counter to use the kiosks so they have very limited interaction with the customers. The food is okay, bathrooms are disgusting and smell so bad. Never coming back. read more

It's really actually sad. We've been to so many McDonald's across the United States, and this is the first time I've felt cheated. I can see why this has such a low rating. First we went in to get the value meal where you have two McChicken sandwiches or two back doubles for three dollars. It is something we kind of rely on as we travel. They had no value menu. So my children decided just to get a large fry to snack on. It cost three dollars. If you look at the picture, you will see why we feel cheated. It is not their normal redbox, and barely even the amount that goes into a small french fry. I mean come on, three dollars for a fry should at least have a normal amount of fries. I do realize that not all McDonald's have the value menu. You can read on the disclaimer not available at all McDonald's. But you kind of rely on the french fries be in the same? Three dollars for fries should give a halfway decent amount. I feel this place lives off of the reputation McDonald's has built, and cheats the people that are passing through on the way to the beach. Or tourists that are unsuspecting. read more

I usually love McDonald's, especially their fries. But for some reason at this location specifically, almost every single time I order fries from here, they are soggy, undercooked, and too oily and a lot of times cold. Whenever I order fries at the Fairview location they are super good, crispy and hot like they are supposed to be. I only get two things at McDonald's: coffee and an occasional sundae. The people who work here are INCREDIBLE. So efficient. So friendly. The friendliest employees in Santa Barbara outside Trader Joe's. The coffee is $1.09 and while I often brew my own, frankly I like theirs better than most coffees I buy. Plenty of parking. NO DRIVE THRU. Never had problems with the food. Workers are okay. Bathrooms nice as well as the place. It's a quick stop when traveling. Returned to Santa Barbara recently to visit my Grandparents, and found some moron had removed the drive up window! They wanted me to download and install and configure some silly mobile app while driving, then place my order. Also while driving. So I walked in, and they didn't have humans available to take orders, I was supposed to use some icky touch screen computer. Nope, I don't work for McDonalds. Finally got someone to acknowledge me, take my order and the food was amazing! Fresh buns, better quality meat and other ingredients than other McD's. Not sure how they pulled that off because it used to be McDonald's was quite OCD about consistency from location to location. And I still refuse to download the app, but they've improved since my previous visit. I'll definitely be back. read more

Went here to get my breakfast grub on. I ordered the sausage mcmuffin with an extra hash brown. The egg inside of the sandwich was almost all egg white. I thought they took out the yolk but near the end it was there. I think they should start scrambling the eggs. The hash browns were a little oily which the bag soaked up most of it. Visiting the area and made a quick stop for breakfast. Ordered McGriddle and an iced coffee with apple pies. They operated super quickly, I love the friendly staff. Taste was exactly now expected it to be. The place was super clean and tended to very carefully. Enjoyed my experience thoroughly. Bathrooms were well kept and fresh smelling. There was no drive-thru here which was really weird. We stopped here on our way back to LA because we were really hungry and wanted something quick. You can't go wrong with Mc Donald's late at night. This place is open 24 hours. My friends and I wanted to get some late night food, but the Jack in the Box nearby did not have an open lobby.
