Where do I begin.... well there was really no wait the food did come quickly... but ordering was an experience that would make anyone pissed off .. and receiving the food pissed off... I went to the McDonald's on Yosemite because yes it's near my home.. the staff were all teenagers.. the drive through cashier taking the order to the ones giving the order at the second window.. the cashier taking the order when I asked if there lunch menu was ready.. replied with "yea it's ready.. duh.. what you want... than when I was ready to pay because they hadn't said the total.. looked me and said ... do you have card?... charged me and didn't say a word.. but she had plenty of time to talk to her friends standing in the window with her.. than I get to where I get the food... 2 teenage boys one with really brown curly hair and other buzzed... had time to go ... bro you want to hang later? And than the girl in the window.. hey I need a drink for me .. the kid with the curly hair.. you extra smart ass today ha... they all laughed and he handed me the bag .. nothing.. no thank you have a good day.. nothing... all these kids had time to acknowledge each other and laugh... there are millions of people who lost their jobs because of covid.. I was one of them.. but they could careless about anything.. they need to be retrained and taught actual customer service... I will never come back until this is fixed. read more

On a previous review in 2013 I gave 4 stars because of quality and price. 2 years later I revise this significantly. Food quality has gone down, just luke warm. Cashiers so so, nothing special. And, most importantly, the prices have gone through the roof. Forget the dollar menu. Over the last year their prices have steadily gone up. Today was sticker shock. Only a plain burger $1. Large drink now $1.89. This is absurd. Quarter Pounder with cheese $4.49 and barely warm. I was there at lunch time. Should have been hot. The new prices across the board are an insult, especially for mediocre food. It is no surprise MD is losing business. This is definitely my last visit here. I had pumped $72.50 into the belly of my Camaro, and I was feeling slightly peckish myself. But since I was planning on a great big late dinner later on, I didn't want a massive meal. I walked from the Shell station's parking lot over to the McDonald's that was next door. I walked through the door, and walked through the dining area. As I did I noticed the faux wood room dividers that were kinda artsy, tables and booths that were shiny and clean. I noticed that some tables had soft padded comfy stools for the larger-sized guests, and some tables had regular backed chairs for the normaler sized folks. There were also some booths sprinkled about the place. There was a television playing an interview with actor Martin Short. I walked up to the counter and looked at the menu. It was large, expansive, massive with multiple items on it. I didn't want much, so I asked the girl behind the counter if I was too old to order a happy meal, and she giggled and said it would be okay. I went with a cheeseburger happy meal. She asked my name and wrote it down on the receipt. I began to walk away, and she suddenly exclaimed to me "Don't forget your cup!" and she thrust a small cup at me. I took it, and wandered over to the beverage station. There was no coffee there, so no iced coffee for me. I filled a cup with ice, and then looked at my options. There was diet coke, and a light minute maid lemonade thing that boasted 3% juice and 5 calories per serving. I filled a cup with ice, and then went with the lemonade. After I moved a bit more to the left, I saw the iced tea. I apologized to nobody in particular, and dumped the cup of ice and lemonade into the drain beneath the beverage spigots. I then refilled the cup with ice, and filled it with iced tea. At that point, I heard girl behind the register call my name. There was a tray with my receipt on it, and a bag sat on top of it. I guess they don't do the cardboard happy meals any more. Bummer. I put my iced tea down on the tray, and picked it up. Then I strolled over to one of the high-backed chairs at a fairly high table. I put the tray down, and climbed up into the chair. Quickly reaching into the bag, I pulled out and opened up, and began to inspect the toy I had received. It's a Despicable Me 2 minion. It's purple? Why is it purple? Does it do anything? It made a cow-noise when I moved it. Oh...I guess that's what it does. That's pretty whelming. Were happy meal toys always this lame? I pulled out my lunch and took the yelp photograph with my 3DS. I was actually surprised, as there's kinda a lot of food in this thing. 1) Cheeseburger, 2)a smaller than small order of fries and 3) a bag of apple slices not to mention the extra fries in the bottom of the bag. For a 'not so big' meal, this was turning out to be kinda big. As I ate them, while they weren't terrible, they were as unremarkable as I remembered from my youth. (When the happy meals came in awesome cardboard happy meal lunch boxes) The apple slices were the high point of the meal. Good job on that one. They were peeled, cored and cut into tiny pieces. After my meal, I surfed the Internet a bit, as most McDonald's have a wi-fi bubble. I checked facebook, downloaded a document and sent some emails. So the lunch was productive, as well as entertaining. So, they let me order whatever I wanted, they've got a wi-fi bubble, and their food is just about okay. They're cheap, my entire lunch cost me all of $3.97. Meh....I may or may not be back? It was definitely better than the last McDonald's experience I had. read more

The first stall in the women's restroom had enough toilet paper stuffed in it for 10 people... the counter tops were gross! Floors looked like they hadn't been washed in ages. Well, hit the drive thru for coffee one morning when I had to go in early. Around 7am, so it was pretty crowded. Rolled down my window to place my order, smelled something foul. Looked to my left, low and behold, this guy with a pump truck is standing there draining the sewer! I mean, I know emergencies happen but still. Do that at 4am, NOT in the middle of the breakfast rush. I'm sorry but, if you can smell poop, there are poop particles lingering in the air, and that's a little too close to food for comfort. Staff was very kind and nice. Wifi says it works but never does. Someone has to attend the bathrooms, every time I'm here they are so so bad. My daughters didnt want to use it and the men is way bad. Gas station tasting food. Food usually cold and stale. French fry's cold, soggy and under cooked. McDonald's no longer even cooks food fresh nor on site. This is my third update review, Okay, they seem to be getting the orders straight now -good and I must say, their drivethru is very fast so I am going to put them back to a four star for "much improved." --but I'm watching... please come to this Mcdonald's if you want to be punished with poor service and wrong orders. You want coffee? They'll literally spill the coffee on you because for some reason they always find it difficult to properly close the lid. And don't even bother using the kiosk because 90% of the time theyll get the order wrong when they bring the food to your table. You'll order a meal but they'll bring you just the fries. And the receipt will clearly say: 1 Qtr Cheese Meal Then you have to constantly ask for a cup and ask where your burger is. And then they look at you like it's your fault for using the kiosk and punching in your order correctly. I just dont get why the employees dont take the time to proofread whats on the receipt prior to bringing out the food? They wanted a "restaurant style service", except they forgot the service part. Typical McDonald's, but I find they do a pretty decent job. Very friendly. McDonald's (corporate-wide) has struggled lately to maintain sales and compete with peers. They have made significant improvements to their drive-thru wait time, so I give them props for that. I rarely wait long, and during peak times, they even post an order-taker out in the lane (like IN n' Out) to help take additional orders. What this means is that when you see seven cars in the drive-thru, it's still okay to use it. It's conveniently located next to the Shell station, so it's easy to fill up and then hit the McD's drive-thru on your way to work. It's right off the Yosemite exit; easy freeway access. This place is shady. Ordered a Big Mac, filet of fish, and chicken nuggets. The filet of fish has 1/3rd of a slice of cheese, the Big Mac's patties were half the width of the bun and paper thin, and the nuggets were over cooked. Been here numerous times, usually with some hesitation. When visiting you have a 50/50 chance the may get your order wrong. I really get annoyed by this when obviously people stop here off the 118 freeway while traveling and are often in a hurry. A female manager yelled at me asking why i was in line ordering. I said because you are open. She yelled and said im the only one here you just have to wait. There were 4 employees there. With that said.She was very for the 12 minutes i was in there . I ask for her name and her manager or GM. She rufused to gove to me. After she gave me my order she refused to make i contact with me. This is not the first instance that the managemnt team there has been rude. I WILL TRY TO CONTACT CORPIRATE. I hope this gets to there management team. About once a month, I take my son for a mommy and son breakfast date before I take him to school. This last week was my son's 4th birthday, and he wanted his McDonald's breakfast. When we got up to the counter to order our food, he excitedly told the lady it was his birthday, with as much excitement as him, she wished him a happy birthday and starting asking him about his day. I could tell he was beyond excited and felt special. Then when they brought our food to the table, they included a birthday activity book, smile prop, and a toy. Just so you know there are two other McDonald's in Simi. This McDonald's (Yosemite and 118) is the worst I have ever been to, incompetence runs rampant there. I ordered a fish fillet combo with light tartar sauce with a large sweet tea. As I drove away from the drive thru I noticed my fries were limp and luke warm and the sweet tea had soured, ewww. So..... I pulled into a spot and dragged my ass in to fix the problem. They gave me fresh fries and a new drink. Now I am on my way again and start eating my fillet sandwich with light tartar. Well, as I started eating it I noticed that it was not light tartar but heavy mayo, gross. So, I marched my ass back in, shared with them how they screwed up the entire or, not just one aspect, but the entire f'ing order. They gladly gave me my money back, didnt even try to recitfy the problem. Guess they had come to terms with the fact that they are incompetent. I decided I would give them another try, but would micro manage the entire order! So this time I ask the guy standing outside taking orders that if I could have fresh fries with my order as well as a large sweet tea. When I get up to pay the cashier she reads my order back to me. She mentioned that I wanted my fries well done. I said no, I want them fresh, meaning just out of the frier, not refried. When I go to collect my order I am handed a bag with refried aka well done fries and a medium sweet tea. I know I ordered the large one, I always do. So, they were not just having a bad day the first time, they are clearly incompetent. Probably your best bet is to head one exit over and hit up In and Out. Rudest and most incapable people I have ever encountered in my life. They could not take a simple order and began yelling at us because they could not get our order right and when they rattled off numbers on the menu we did not know what they were talking about because we obviously haven't memorized their menu. The first two kids couldn't get it right so they called manager "James" over who said he was going to call the cops because we were upset!!!
