Whoa! The Skywalker Sandwich is phenomenal,I don't think I have ever had such a flavorful sandwich before. The Dutch crunch bread type was very interesting and a must try,if you have never had it. I had everything on it. Mustard, mayo lettuce, tomato, pickles. Not sure what else was in it other than avocado but it was amazing. Customer service was much to be desired and the dude with the long dirty blonde hair definitely needs some lessons with explaining kindly rather than just pointing at a sign. This dude shouldn't be at the front line taking orders,who knows how much business he's losing as a result of his public social skills. Placing an order. Speaking with this guy was a very unpleasant experience. The owner needs to record the interaction and reactions of the employees and customers to see what's going in. The food? Fantastic! Couldn't recommend a better place to order a sandwich from. Service not so much. Would have given at least a 4 ,but again customer service skills is lacking here. The sandwich maker with the brown short hair is really nice and pleasant to interact with. Maybe ted Nugent should watch how he interacts with the public. I'm a huge sandwich guy and this is a great sandwich spot! They offer a nice selection of sandwiches with chicken, turkey, salami and other deli meats. I decided to go with The Lake show sandwich, cause I love the Lakers and I love salami. In addition to salami, the sandwich came with their bomb sauce, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles. The sandwich was served hot and it was absolutely delicious. With every bite I experienced so many flavor notes. It was savory, a little sour, vinegary and also a little sweet from the ripe veggies. The yummy salami was perfectly complemented by the other ingredients and each bite was perfect, especially with the sourdough bread that I chose for my sandwich. For salami lovers, The Lake Show sandwich is top notch and a must try! The customer service was solid and the spot is pretty casual and has some tables i side for dining in. Found this place on YELP. Looked good by the reviews. The sandwich was good although I requested no mayo and got extra mayo. I wiped it off. The overall experience was odd. There was a guy on the line making the sandwich a that was so frazzled and frantic was just yelling things out from behind the clear window. He seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people that were coming in the door. It was Sunday on a Memorial Day weekend rye place is good your going to get busy. I recommend smiling and making eye contact and saying "hello". Other than yelling g out "15 minute wait times for everyone that comes in the door". This review is solely based on the food and it is very generous, because I don't like giving bad reviews. The customer service I experienced was great. I was greeted when I walked in, and the guys were accommodating. I do have to say, it was pretty dirty in there. The tables hadn't been cleaned and had sandwich crumbs all on them. I was the only one in there with 3 young employees working. This was my first experience here and I ordered the #3, which has turkey, ham, roast beef, and jack cheese. I asked if I could get double turkey instead of the ham and he said yes. I got everything on it with Dutch crunch bread. I also asked if I could try a side of each of their sauces to see what they are like. He went on to say they were free, but then charged me for them. I also ordered a fountain drink. My sauces were not in the bag, so I asked for them. I got my food to go and actually ate in my car right outside. First of all, where was the meat? They definitely did not double the turkey and the roast beef was almost invisible. I didn't taste any of the condiments that were supposed to be on the sandwich. It was very dry. The extra sauces I got taste more like salad dressings rather than sandwich spreads. Speaking of dry, the Dutch crutch, which is normally my favorite type of bread, was so dry and hard, it was difficult to eat, and the roof of my mouth has been hurting all day. I love Ike's Place Dutch crutch. That is the best, in my opinion. Or any others in the Bay Area. The cheese on my sandwich was so narrow, it didn't fit the bread. I honestly didn't even taste it. The sandwich as a whole was flavorless and mediocre at best. The pickles were the only thing I really tasted. The lettuce was fresh and crispy though. Now, for the worst part. The fountain drink. I about threw up upon tasting it. It was a Diet Pepsi. I do not think it was the soda itself. I believe it was the ice. It had a dirty, moldy tap water taste. Please clean your machines! I was so thirsty, I went back in, told them about it, and they gave me a canned soda. I do appreciate that. The guy's response was an apology followed with a comment that their ice machine was very old. Hmmm. Yikes. That makes me feel great. I asked for mayo packets, because I truly didn't see any on my sandwich. This was not the experience I expected after reading their wonderful reviews. I have no intention of coming back. We've heard about the sandwich shop for years, and we opted to try it since a neighboring eatery was not getting the best reviews. We won't go back. We shared one turkey cranberry sandwich on sourdough. It was flavorful, but only deli turkey, and not worth $15, especially with no side of any kind. There are 3 or 4 small tables. It has a hipster atmosphere, but we were unsure about the cleanliness. This truly is the best Sandwich Spot!! I am not a big deli meat person so naturally I don't enjoy a lot of the popular sandwich places as I don't personally enjoy their chicken options. However, the Sandwich Spot Lob City sandwich is insane!!! It is so delicious, so fresh, and so appetizing. I reccomend getting it with the Dutch crunch bread, amazing!!! The portion is definitely worth the price as it is such a filling sandwich and they always seem to get the ingredient proportions right.
