I am hyper critical of McDonalds but my pick up order was ready as soon as I got there and walked inside and everyone was kind.

They have a quarter game there so when you win the game, they allow you to get a free item on the item list of things you can get for winning so I won the game and in the past every time I've done it. I get the burger or whatever the options are and this time I go in and I win the game because I'm really good at it and I ask, I tell the lady that I won the game and she said my manager won't allow me to get it cause it goes to charity. Well I won the game and the money still goes to charity. I just get a reward for winning so I should still get the food that I was promised on the thing, but I wasn't given the food. I had a DoorDash pickup at 11:45pm at night and when I went through the drive through the lady was extremely rude and arrogant and told me she doesn't have a door dashing order, she pretended not to hear my questions and she refused to help me with my order pick up. This McDonald's in particular is terrible. Nothing but high school kids running the place, most don't know what they are even doing. Been here more than once to give it another try but it's always the same thing - messing on their phones instead of working. Talking loudly to each other across the front of the place, asking what grade they have in so in so's class. If your sales are low it is because your employees are lazy and want to go home early, don't worry they will blame the thunderstorms. Buyer beware! First- 2 - $2.00 breakfast bundled with small drinks came to $15.00 +. cashier had no idea how to ring it up. Called for help because she did not understand. Second - the $2.00 bundles rang up at $2.29. The manager said the price changed over a month ago. BUT THE SIGN STILL SAYS $2.00!! Manager didn't care so we paid the $2.29 price. I couldn't be the first person to complain. Third - they didn't have have any artificial sweeteners only sugar so I opted for a soft drink. No ice in the machine and Coke Zero was out, so I opted for NO DRINK that I paid for. They need to get it together. All of the people who are my friends on Yelp know that I check into McDonald's A LOT! The main reason is because I am addicted to the sweet tea (yes, the first step is admitting I have a problem). The other reason I frequent McDonald's is because I have a kid and it works when we need something quick. In any case, like many chains, all McDonald's are not created equal. They are owned by different people. I have noticed that a lot of the McDonald's I go to there is a 1 or 2 star rating...3 is really pushing it. But why? I don't know either. I never expect 100% perfection at any fast food place, but this one comes close and therefore, this is the only McDonald's I have ever given 5 stars to. On that note, I will say this is my favorite McDonald's. They are not without their issues, so let's start there...with the Con's. Sometimes you can go there in the middle of the afternoon and the drive thru is backed up all the way around the building and it can be slow. Meanwhile, you can't find a parking spot and if you do and go inside...the lines are long. Yes, I have walked or driven away myself with this craziness without giving it a chance. But it's not all the time or every day...it's hit or miss. And if you hit it, you're going to be upset. I've been there. Then I gave it a chance. Reality is, if the drive thru is long you can sit and wait to see how the timing is, but normally, if it's long...it's slow. Park if you can and go inside. The lines may seem long, but they go quicker inside. I have heard customers get upset about not having enough employees or whatever. But it's not like that every day or all the time, it's hit or miss and who knows why? I can't blame them for not having more people working when they just don't know. But the people that are there are humpin' when it happens. The Pro's...when the lines are long and taking time...the food is fresh. You really can tell the difference. I have read other reviews where folks talk about the rude people. I have only had one bad experience in the drive thru with a female employee and her attitude. Other than that, they have always been friendly. Plus, the manager there is super kind and when the place is really busy, he steps in to help. I've had my order taken by him many times inside and I've seen him helping with the food and drive thru. On another note, we stop in every week after a class (been here a lot more than my check-in's reflect) and I have gotten to know the faces and I think they have gotten to know mine. They see me pull up and are very nice with a familiar tone, I like it! That is a direct reflection of the management. Kudo time! We do get food here too, but most of the time we swing thru for my Sweet Tea fix. If you are in that long drive thru line and are just getting drinks then they may just bring them to you at the payment window. It has happened to me a few times and I was forever grateful. I have requested it a few times too when the line wasn't moving. This enables you to get out of the line...a win/win for both. How it that for customer service? Woot! AMAZING!!! You know me, I like to let you know when there is a discount. There is a 50% military discount at this location. I read this in a review and asked them myself...it's true!!! The owner of this McDonald's ROCKS! And from what I understand, they are the same owners as the Green Cove Springs location. Words cannot describe how amazing this is. I don't know why I keep giving this location another chance. There's always something missing from our order. The chicken nuggets never have the sauce although when asked, "it's in the box/bag". As I start this review I really question myself and what I have done wrong in life to be taking the time out to review a fast food restaurant, such as Mcdonalds. Normally I wouldn't pay much mind to a fast food place that screws up my order occasionally, etc, but that seems the norm for this location and it's beyond irritating. Why do I keep coming here you ask? Well, unfortunately this is the closest fast food to my house (a mile) and by the time I make the decision to eat Mcdonalds, I am ravenously hungry and lacking better judgement. Three incidents have really aggravated the crap out of me. Keep in mind, I've probably only ordered from here like 6 times, and so half of my experiences have been bad ones. Strike one: Gave me a fish sandwich meal instead of the 10 piece I ordered. They should have to have people buying fish sandwiches sign a release, and definitely double-check the order anytime someone orders that, because I highly doubt they sell more than like 3 a day, and that's probably to the same person who smells like cat pee and wears a cloak. Took forever to get my meal replaced. Strike 2: Cold fries. I don't know what's up with their fryers, maybe they're not hot enough, or maybe they just let the fries sit for a long time but it seems I always get luke warm food from here. Mcdonalds' has a very low shelf-life of the food actually tasting good, and half this time has already gone by when I get the food barely warm. By the time I get home it's like I let it sit on the counter all night and then ate it the next morning. Not good. Strike 3: Today I ordered another 10 piece large meal and when I got my fries I was actually baffled as to how they got through the window. I had literally half of an order of fries. When I sat through the lunch rush to get the rest of the fries I paid for the employee at the window gasped at the lack of fries I had. I know , I know, this is Mcdonalds. But at the same time, I have always been a fan (and luckily not overweight) and I have never been to a Mcdonalds that consistently gives you crap food and service. Get it together people.It's clear that the manager of this place doesn't really place any value on customer satisfaction and probably ride on the hopes that people will just chalk their shortcomings up to being fast food.
