Still probably the worst McDonald's in the DC area, with limited kiosks to place orders,, surly and unhelpful and uncommunicative staff. It's just completely depressing. I only go there when I'm starving and don't feel like cooking or traveling to another restaurant. Only one staff person was really nice and helpful the other day, and English is her native language. It's a McDonald's...nothing about this location that's extra special or anything. I stopped to try a Frozen Fanta. I normally would place my order on the app but I wanted half blue raspberry and half cherry and you're unable to customize on the app. I stood around for awhile watching people come in and place their orders at the self service kiosks and others standing around waiting for delivery orders and nobody was taking orders at the register. I had to flag someone down and ask if my order could be taken. They were able to accommodate my request for my frozen Fanta and it reminded of an ICEE...not bad. read more

All this said, I was starving after an empty stomach workout at my gym down the street and very short on time so on an impulse I chose to eat here. The restaurant was immaculate and well staffed with friendly and helpful people. I loved my Egg McMuffin "make it a meal" and reasonably healthy. The coffee was surprisingly excellent. I am not a fan of this location by any stretch of the imagination. I can here for the first time yesterday for lunch, and the first part the was difficult was navigating and finding a parking spot that would fit my SUV. When I walked in, the place was mad packed with customers, but I did manage to find one of the remaining small tables next to the window. I had attempted to place my order thru the app, which wasn't working either. And there was no employee at all working at the counter section. I waited for several minutes, and nobody was there, or evenly looked remotely as if they had time to answer my question or help me. This is the third time I have come and went home and realized I was missing items. This McDonald's is like back to the future, nice music, clean design and order on digital screens. But the reason I'm giving this five stars is because there is an employeee John who is amazing. I was noticing he was taking really good care of customers who may be confused by the screens. Then as I ate my breakfast I saw how he knew a lot of the customers names and orders like a 1950s diner. People yelling out good to see you. Then there was a customer being really rude to him and swearing and he handled it professionally. I always order from door Dash and I never get my entire order from them and lately my food has been delivered cold and not as instructed. I keep ordering because they are close and cheap and I'm lazy sometimes. But I am always disappointed. I ordered the cookie tote and a iced coffee once and it was so delicious that I had to try it again, and 3 times later twice the coffee was so nasty and the 3rd time the cookies were burnt. Same with the rest of the menu one time it is good but the next time you have a biscuit that you can play hockey with. This place used to be staffed in part by gremlins after they had been splashed with water... But now the service is just fine, no scowling, or accusations of theft when you get the drink - that you paid for - from the soda machine... There's always somebody cleaning something in the dining area. It is frequented by all the locals. All of them.
