Such friendly staff! And they keep their cool in stressful situations. I saw a man freak out and accuse the employees of forgetting something in his meal. Eddie handled it all really well and with a smile on her face. The man obviously has some anger issues. She was helpful and getting him his food as he huffed and asked if she was calling him a liar. Even though she said no such thing and was literally making him more food right there. I hope the whole staff has a wonderful day and doesn't have to deal with any more customers like that! read more

By far the worse Mc Donald I ever bern to. The manager had no idea what the coffee drunks ingredients were.I waited 18min for an iced macchiato. This is added to the 8min before anyone helped me.The fries had to be remade 3x because they left them in the oil too long. This wasnt communicated to us, we could just see the batches being dumped. This McDonalds (Van Ness and Wisconsin NW) has the ABSOLUTE WORST service after 9 pm. I've been before late and just sucked it up, but then I went again last night and immediately began to turn around and leave once I realized that this place was terrible the last time (their SOP is to order from the kiosk and wait forever). I thought the first time might be an outlier so I tried again. It was worse the second time around. And I ordered a big mac, fries, a double cheeseburger, and a coke (the most ordered things on the menu right) and waited so long that i gave away my ticket to one of the homeless individuals there and just walked out. I will NEVER go back to this very poorly run McDonalds ever again. BTW, as I stood there waiting, the guy in front of me was mumbling about how long he had been there all the while the UberEats (etc) drivers were getting bag after bag of their orders. From the looks of the other recent reviews, it seems that everyone is having the same experience (of the last ten reviews, eight are two stars or lower). I've been meaning to write this review for years. And thankfully this day has finally come. I'll never understand this McDonalds. It's consistently busy and consistently has the best customer service of any McDonalds I've ever been to- friendly, polite, and personable staff. But I don't come to McDonalds for customer service.. I come for fast food. So let me tell you why I'm writing this review. The food is consistently reheated, usually warm (not hot), and usually tastes old. You can request your food "made to order" and it will solve that problem. They'll make it from scratch. But be prepared to wait until doomsday to get that food.. read more

More like 3.5 I hardly eat fast food and I feel a little silly writing a review for a McDonalds but this is the nicest McDonalds I've ever eaten at. Especially when compared with the McDonalds in Adams Morgan, which is just gross in multiple ways. This location is really clean inside, and instead of the red and yellow decor- they have gone for a metallic color palate. Also, they often play classical music. Whenever, I have been there, I have seen a lot of people sipping coffee and reading the newspaper. It does resemble a coffee shop, but you can get fries. As for the food- it's just like any of the other million McDonald's. Some of the staff are also not very proficient in English. I once went to asked for gift certificates for a friend who loves McDonalds, and the cashier responded "Banana Shake?" I tried to explain what I was asking for and she had to call over her manager, who fortunately resolved the problem. I am not sure how gift certificate sounds like banana shake, especially when they don't have it on the menu. So I would stick to ordering by numbers. read more

The workers here are also pretty nice, one lady handed me a fistful of coupons she had at the register... just because. I am not an advocate for fast food, and I had sworn off of McDonald's for what felt like centuries, but given DC's limited late-night options and a steady drinking schedule, this quaint location has put McDonald's back on my intestinal map. It has been recently renovated, so you definitely don't feel as trashy coming in, especially in the wee hours of the night. It is well-maintained and the late-night staff personalities are interesting, but harmless. Nothing like a dollar-menu binge to help soak up some alcohol en route to a (hopefully) good night's sleep. This McDonald's provides the very same health risks as your standard location (not in the way it's prepared, but the food itself), but you know that going in. I was inspired to write this review in light of a recent event: After an interesting weeknight out, I decided to partake in some late-night snackery gluttony-style at McDonalds. As I'm about to leave I hear a familiar song about to begin - it was "West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys. Open 24/7, reasonably clean, has parking. Sometimes frequented by obnoxious, drunken kids, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Most of the staff are nice despite poor language skills, annoying mannerisms and most of them are good about coupons, special orders. Why am I giving them four stars instead of five? Mainly because of their lack of organization. When there's a line it often resembles a crowd more than a line. And they're not the fastest. Often I order stuff that doesn't require cooking (side salads, cookies, soft drinks) and it takes longer than is reasonable. Complaints to local management/corporate don't usually get any response. Lastly, despite their tough talk about parking enforcement there are sometimes more cars in the lot than peeps in the restaurant -- management just shrugs about this. Definitely my favorite McDonald's. The staff is usually nice, the food comes out quickly be it peak hours or the doldrums of 2AM, and it's spacious and clean. It'd be nice if there was a drive-thru but that would just snarl up the traffic along Wisconsin and Van Ness even more. There's ample parking, however! You simply haven't lived until you've given in to a late-night craving for fries and sweet tea, and this place will help you do that because it's open 24 hours, 7 days a week. It's dining area stays open 24 hours. 7 days a week: thus it's the only place in Tenley that has coffee for those late night reading or studying binges. This McDonalds is also the gathering place of a colorful assortment of homeless people. In the past week I've been proselytized to and high-fived by a burger chomping goateed fellow who ended every rant with "and that's the gospel that never got told" and I saw a gigantic man start screeching then glide out the door as if he were a ballerina. Regular customer, went back for the first time since the renovation and the've ruined what was a nice local McDonald's. It's all automated now -have to order at a kiosk. Fewer staff means more profits for the new owner but the customer experience is diminished. I will not go back -there are other McD's in the area who will now get my business. read more

The last time I checked upper Wisconsin it wasn't the hood. I understand you hate your job...change it! The counter "ladies " are hateful and just plain rude. I mistakenly decided to try this McDonald's just for a quick breakfast sandwich. I had a scan code ready and up on my phone for a free sandwich with purchase of Mc Cafe. When you put the scan code on your phone it blocks the writing of the offer. Went in..,showed the attendant the code and was met with pure attitude. "What you want?" I explained that I'd like the offer. "What size you want?" I said small coffee... is it my job to know the offer...which was for a medium coffee!! I said then the medium! He didn't acknowledge us when we asked a question then didn't put down part of our order. GREAT McDonald's. They keep their bathrooms clean, they have a largish parking lot and the staff is friendly. I have never, in all my times coming here through my life, had a problem here. Because I was a frequent customer back when I had a car, I never felt guilty parking there and then walking into Tenley Town to run errands or go out with friends. I park, grab a quick to-go treat from McDonald's and then head on my way into Tenley Town. Again, there has never been a problem with me leaving my car here, though I don't recommend you do this unless you are planning on patronizing the Mcdonalds. I have seen people get towed from here. This McDonald's is up there with the one in downtown McLean as the best to hang out in. As always with McDonald's get their amazing fries and chicken mcnuggets! My absolute favorites. read more

It's MickeyD's, so the food is just what you'd expect. What prompted me to write a review is not the food. It's the customer service and attitude. Short version: Horrible with a 'I-don't-care' mentality. How staff handles complaints makes or breaks the customer's impression. Guess they just don't care. Will not come here even if we are in the midst of a zombie apocalypse and only food and clean water within 5000 miles are located here. Great atmosphere for a McDonald's. Like the designer did a great job. I'm also a huge fan of the classical music that they play. Open 24/7 which is perfect for the late night cravings! Only downside to this place is that the MGMT is incredibly lazy. Multiple times I have waited way longer than necessary because the cashier is taking orders and putting everything together while the manager just stands in the corner. Waited 4 hours for Szechuan sauce. Baby tier employees couldn't figure out that they need an official tickets. They decided to randomly hand them out when people already got sick of it and started their own honor system, which they didn't care about at all. I don't understand how it took them so long to figure that out when they had employees walking around and taking videos and pictures anyways. read more

The workers are not kind to customers or each other, and I can't count on my hands the number of times they've messed up my order. A number of times they refused to fix it. If I could give this location no stars, I would. The service was never amazing, wait times impressively slow, but since the recent renovation (adding the contactless ordering kiosks), the service has gotten even worse. Last week, my children asked to get a snack there after school. I reluctantly agreed. After ordering at the kiosk, it took 15 minutes for 4 chicken nuggets, french fries and orange juice to arrive. We were 'dining' in, and when the employee arrived with our items, she practically threw the tray on the table. My children politely said 'thank you so much', which she ignored. This week, I pulled into their parking lot, because we were running late for my child's ballet class, which is across the street. I carried her across the street and dropped her at the door and was coming back to get my bag and book from the car--I thought I would get a beverage and read while she was in class. BUT, an employee was at my car with parking enforcement. In the less than two minutes it took to take my child across the street, she had decided that my parking there warranted a ticket ($250!!). When I explained I was just running her across the street and then I was coming in to McD's she replied 'He already wrote the ticket, honey' (!!!). I understand that they do not want parents parking there and taking up room in the small parking lot, I get it. However, I have never parked in that lot before to drop her off; I would understand if I was a repeat offender--a car that was continually parking there and inconveniencing customers. But, she could see I was dropping a ballet student off; parents cannot go in the dance studio (because Covid), so we are all looking for places to grab a coffee or something while we wait. She could have waited until I came back across and given me a warning. Or, she could have waited a bit to see if I had really left my car in their lot and was not returning to patronize her business. So, we have a franchise that is 1) dirty 2) employees are surly and lack basic civility 3) wait time for 'fast food' is epic 4) food is not very good. 5) 'management' seems vindictive and not friendly to the community; my children go to a school near by, as well as the dance studio. We are in this neighborhood quite a bit. We will never, ever go in this McDonalds again. I will also point out, that Nando's Peri-Peri is across the street. I prefer going there (food is good--it is actual, real food!) and the staff there are very nice--they always remember my children when we come in and we always feel welcomed. read more
